The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1017: Chapter 1017: Caught in the Act

Previously, Bai Ping’s attention was all on her husband, how could she have had the time to observe others?

Now seeing Mei Ruyan, she remembered some past events, and her heart tightened up again.

”Mom, this is Ruyan. Haven’t you told me to take care of her these past few years? How come you don’t recognize her?” Xu Miaoxiu said.

”Yes, yes, Ruyan.” Bai Ping looked at Mei Ruyan, took a step closer to her, squinted, and smiled, ”She really has changed a lot. The little girl from before has grown into such a beautiful lady now, I didn’t recognize her at first.”

Ruyan’s personality was cold, not suited for such occasions. She simply nodded and replied softly, ”Hmm.”

”Have you been doing well these years?”

”Yes.” Mei Ruyan still responded tersely.

Towards Bai Ping, she still had complex feelings, not knowing whether to feel resentment or gratitude.

”This child, still the same personality.” Bai Ping laughed. Mei Ruyan’s cold attitude did not surprise her; she actually felt a bit sorry. This child had a hard life since young.

”Ruyan, it’s been years since Auntie saw you. Can you keep Auntie company for a chat?” Bai Ping asked.

This made Mei Ruyan pause, should she agree or not? It seemed there was nothing much to talk about between them.

Bai Ping smiled, ”Actually, nothing much, just talk about daily life and your mother’s past. You probably know little about the past.”

Upon hearing this, Mei Ruyan’s eyes flashed, and then she nodded, the excitement evident in her expression.

”Miaoxiu, take these guests to their rooms, make sure to entertain them well.” Bai Ping said, and then affectionately grabbed Mei Ruyan’s hand, smiling: ”Let’s find a quiet place to chat slowly.”

Such an intimate gesture, Mei Ruyan did not resist but turned to Xu Miaoxiu and said, ”No matter the outcome, I don’t want your Xu family to trouble Lin Tian.”

Miaoxiu nodded, ”Rest assured, I wouldn’t do such a bridge-burning thing.”

”I’m referring to the other people in your Xu family.” Mei Ruyan emphasized. She had no good feelings toward this Xu Family.

Before Miaoxiu could speak, Bai Ping spoke first, ”Don’t worry, whether your father recovers or not, no one will trouble Lin Tian, I guarantee it!”

After speaking, Bai Ping looked at Mei Ruyan with pity again, wondering what suffering this child had endured to have such resentment toward the Xu family?

...

The room Miaoxiu arranged for Lin Tian was a single guest room. Although small, it had all necessary furniture.

Miaoxiu wasn’t staying in the same room with Lin Tian, maybe because it was her own home and she felt a bit embarrassed. Lin Tian didn’t insist either, he wasn’t here for a honeymoon, he had a lot of things to deal with.

Xu Shaohui’s medical records filled five large volumes. Bai Ping wrote every word meticulously, including dates and medication, with fine detail on every page.

Lin Tian didn’t miss a single word. He spent two hours going through those five large volumes.

Back when he was preparing for exams, he skimmed through study materials and key points at a glance. But this time, he was more serious with the medical records. Although still skimming, he remembered everything in detail.

After finishing, Lin Tian let out a long sigh.

This body was plagued with illnesses over the past five years, still being alive was no small feat.

Putting down the medical records, Lin Tian went to the bathroom, filled the bathtub with water, and soaked while thinking for half an hour.

Then he returned to the desk, and with a broad stroke, wrote down twelve prescriptions in one go.

These prescriptions were specifically tailored for Xu Shaohui’s body, though each came with pros and cons, making them difficult to choose between.

Holding the pen again, Lin Tian began writing, and midway through, crumpled the paper into a ball and tossed it into the wastebasket.

Throughout the night, he went through more than forty prescriptions. It wasn’t until dawn that Lin Tian barely managed to come up with a set procedure.

Why was it barely?

Because even Lin Tian couldn’t be sure of how Xu Shaohui’s body would react, there might be considerable changes.

The final treatment plan he wrote was fairly balanced and comprehensive, but not easy to implement. At least he had some ideas.

Knock, knock, knock...

Lin Tian’s room door was knocked; upon opening, it was Mei Ruyan.

Her eyes were red and swollen, with dark circles beneath them. Clearly she hadn’t slept well yesterday, understandably so; with her father suffering so, how could she sleep soundly?

”What are you looking at?” Mei Ruyan asked angrily, ”Breakfast is ready.”

Lin Tian smiled wryly, her temper hadn’t eased yet. Was she really angry or just jealous, or perhaps both?

”There’s no rush to eat, let me massage your eyes first, they’re red, swollen, and have dark circles, not looking good.” Lin Tian said.

Mei Ruyan shook her head, ”No need.”

”What do you mean no need? My massage is much better than using those cosmetics.”

Lin Tian stepped back, creating space for her to enter.

Mei Ruyan did not go along with it but turned to leave.

In two swift steps, Lin Tian crossed over, pulling her smooth hand back, then closed the door, enclosing an ice-cold beauty indoors.

”What are you doing?” Mei Ruyan asked coldly.

Lin Tian could tell she was a bit angry, likely to lash out in the next second.

Lin Tian pulled over a chair, letting her sit, then smiled apologetically, ”Crying all night, your eyes must be sore and tired. Let me massage them for you, then it’ll be fine. Be good.”

Mei Ruyan initially wanted to get up from the chair, but upon hearing the words ’be good’ and feeling Lin Tian’s warm hand on her forehead, she stayed put. After all, it was a free massage, why not enjoy it?

Though he called it a massage, it wasn’t much different from eye exercises. The only difference was Lin Tian’s ten fingers contained spiritual energy, bearing miraculous effects.

In less than two minutes, the redness and swelling subsided.

”Actually, about your sister and I...”

Lin Tian began, trying to explain, but Mei Ruyan interrupted coldly, ”No need to explain, I’m not your wife.”

”...”

”Just focus on the massage.” Mei Ruyan added.

”Alright then.” Lin Tian replied with a wry smile, who knew who had angered this lady.

Continuing, Lin Tian moved his fingers to Mei Ruyan’s forehead point, Baihui Acupoint, and sleep acupoint, and the spiritual energy quickly soothed her to sleep, with light snores rising.

Just as Lin Tian was about to put the sleeping Mei Ruyan on the bed, there was another knock on the door and Miaoqiu’s voice came from outside, ”I’m coming in.”

Given their established relationship, Miaoqiu didn’t consider much courtesy, she pushed the door open.

And then, saw Lin Tian holding Mei Ruyan.

Lin Tian suddenly felt a tingling at the back of his head, caught in the act.
