The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 669: Chapter 669: Recruitment (Part 1)

Lin Tian turned his head to look at the other people’s beds, everything was there, even the counterfeit bill on Meng Nan’s table was not missing.

This is freaking amazing, isn’t it?

Lin Tian pointed at the empty closet and asked, ”What’s the deal with my stuff? Why is everything gone?”

Meng Nan rubbed the back of his head and chuckled, ”Actually, you should thank me and Li.”

Lin Tian frowned and asked, puzzled, ”What happened? My stuff is missing, and you managed to help with that?”

Meng Nan suddenly started making funny faces, his smile gradually becoming more mischievous, then he cleared his throat twice and said, ”How can you have the face to ask? Didn’t you just boast about how much your fans adore you? This was all their doing. Who else would want your smelly socks?”

Lin Tian was embarrassed, ”What do you mean? Are you saying my stuff was taken by those fans?”

Li, who was sitting on the bed, nodded, ”The day you became famous, a lot of people came to the dorm to find you, but since they couldn’t, they set their sights on your belongings.”

Meng Nan added from the side, ”I think your fans are not true fans, they’re brainless fans. They wanted to grab everything, and most of them were women, almost fought over it. You have no idea how envious your brother here is, no girl has ever gone crazy for me like that in my life.”

Lin Tian’s forehead was covered in lines, Meng Nan’s expression wasn’t fake, he really was envious. After all, as a guy who’s failed at pursuing girls before, how could he withstand this kind of blow?

Lin Tian moved a chair over and sat down. Raising an eyebrow, he asked, ”Did you just let them take my stuff? Didn’t the dorm supervisor come to intervene?”

At this point, Meng Nan displayed a smug expression and laughed, ”Of course not, there was no way Tian and I would just let them take things for free. So, I stopped them on the spot, otherwise, how would I live up to my muscles?”

”Then why is my stuff still gone?” Lin Tian asked, baffled.

”There were too many of them, Wood and I really couldn’t stop them. So, we came up with a way to minimize the loss.” Li said with a roguish smile.

”What? Minimize the loss? Don’t tease, spill it!” Lin Tian was still very puzzled.

”Oh, actually it’s nothing much, we just... auctioned off your stuff...”

”Pfft...”

Lin Tian’s eyes widened, with a look of disbelief, ”Auctioned? My stuff, worth auctioning?”

”Buddy, you’re underestimating yourself. You have no idea how popular your stuff was. For instance, a signed copy of ’Herbal Medicine’ sold for 200 yuan. And let’s not even talk about your clothes, each piece sold like hotcakes. The most noteworthy was your underwear, hahaha, each pair went for 200 as well. Would you say we have a keen business sense, minimizing the loss?”

”It’s a pity you don’t have any fancy underwear, like leopard print or lace. Otherwise, they might have fetched an even higher price.”

After hearing this, Lin Tian almost spat blood on the spot, what kind of outrageous situation is this?

Are people really this crazy about chasing stars nowadays?

”What about my smelly socks and foot rags?”

”Well, those were too stinky, so we threw them away a long time ago. We regret it now though, keeping a pair could’ve easily fetched 20 yuan each.” After saying this, Li put on a heartbroken expression, making Lin Tian feel like giving him a punch.

”And my clothes, how much did you sell them for?”

”About one or two hundred each.” Meng Nan answered.

”There were so many clothes bought by Qingcheng, all genuine brand names, several pieces were worth thousands, and I only wore them once or twice. You two dummies sold them for just hundreds?”

Meng Nan’s eyes widened, ”What? Thousands?”

Meng Nan and Li looked at each other, both with heartbroken expressions.

”We lost out, we lost out. I originally thought you, a simpleton, only wore fakes, didn’t expect them to be genuine! How much living expense did we lose out on?”

Lin Tian rolled his eyes, ”Isn’t it a bit unkind of you two to sell all my stuff without asking? Now that I’m back, what do I use?”

”Buddy, don’t be mad. At the time, they outnumbered us, and Li and I had no choice. We both kept the accounts in mind: eight for you, and one for each of us. We’ll make sure you don’t lose out. Uh... except for those brand-name clothes.”

Lin Tian couldn’t help but laugh and curse jokingly, ”Alright, alright, you both know my personality, just split the money between you two, after all, it’s not much. But don’t do it again.”

”No way! The stuff is yours, and we’ve already felt so guilty for selling it. If you don’t take the money, how can we have the face to spend it?” Meng Nan said with a serious and upright expression.

After speaking, he even took out a box from the drawer and handed it to Lin Tian, ”The money’s all in there, except for the brand-name clothes. The rest should be enough for you to buy two more sets.”

Lin Tian took the box; although he didn’t care about the amount inside, he knew that not taking it would create a rift between him and these two good buddies. Like he was despising the things they kept for him.

Lin Tian didn’t mean to blame them anyway. It wasn’t anything valuable, just some clothes and daily necessities.

Suddenly, Lin Tian asked seriously, ”What are your plans for the future, the two of you?”

”Plans?”

Meng Nan looked confused, ”No big plans, just taking one step at a time.”

”What about you?” Lin Tian turned to Li.

”I haven’t really thought about it either. My family said studying medicine was good, and I have an interest in it, that’s why I came here. But I have no concrete plans for work afterwards. Besides, there are many things I can do.”

Li wasn’t bragging; he was stating a fact. He had read extensively, dabbling in whatever caught his interest. So, he was familiar with various fields like translation, finance, and trade.

Knowledge is power, a phrase that suits Li perfectly.

”Are you interested in joining my company?” Lin Tian asked with a smile.

”Your company?”

The two of them had big question marks on their faces, when did Lin Tian start a company? They had no clue.

Lin Tian was, of course, referring to Black Gold Security Company, something he had Wu Yong register before he even met them. It had just started to slowly develop.

As for the three companies acquired from Wang Daoran, he was merely the fourth shareholder.

”Yeah, my company is called ’Black Gold Security Company’, we’re currently understaffed, so I wonder if you two talents are willing to come on board?” Lin Tian asked with a cheeky grin.
