The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 664: Chapter 664: Spirit Jade Blocks Calamity

”Master, please wait a moment.” Lin Tian hurriedly shouted.

”Tian, they’re tricking...”

Lin Tian glared fiercely: ”Shut up!”

The two gatekeepers fell silent.

”What else is there, Mr. Lin?” the old monk asked with a smile.

Lin Tian stepped back, cleared the way, and made a ’please’ gesture, ”Please come in.”

The old monk nodded, paced forward with steady steps, and entered the ward.

Even his steps are unlike those of ordinary people!

”I haven’t asked the monk’s Dharma name.” Lin Tian asked very politely.

”My Dharma name is Shuqing.” Shuqing squinted with a smile and asked, ”Mr. Lin, have you heard of it?”

Shuqing?

Lin Tian began to recall this Dharma name in his mind, somewhat familiar, but couldn’t quite remember.

His memory far exceeded ordinary people, but even he would selectively forget.

”Sorry, I might be too ignorant, I’ve never heard of it. By the way, master, how did you know my surname is Lin?”

”These days, Mr. Lin’s name has been so notable, how could I not have heard of it?” Shuqing laughed.

Qiyi scratched his bald head, looking perplexed, ”Is Mr. Lin very famous? How come I don’t know?”

He curiously examined Lin Tian with wide eyes, ”Do you know ’The Avatamsaka Sutra’? What about ’Lengyan Sutra’? These two scriptures are difficult, I can’t memorize them, let alone understand them, it’s so hard, my head hurts.”

After speaking, he scratched his head, and his delicate eyebrows knitted together again.

”I don’t, but I know ’Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor’ and ’Compendium of Materia Medica.’” Lin Tian smiled.

”What’s that? Is it difficult?” Qiyi turned his head to look at Shuqing, ”Master, do you know? Is it as hard as ’The Avatamsaka Sutra’?”

”Haha...”

Shuqing laughed heartily, patting Qiyi’s head, and said, ”Those two books are also masterpieces, but they are another path.”

”Another path?” Qiyi shook his head repeatedly, ”I don’t want to learn it, the path of reciting scriptures every day is already twisted and winding for me, another path? No way, no way.”

”Hahaha.” Lin Tian couldn’t help but laugh, this child is so innocent and naive, not knowing the ways of the world, easily making people adore him.

After laughing twice, Lin Tian asked, ”Master, may I know the purpose of your visit this time?”

”It’s about your little girlfriend, the one I have destiny with.”

Shuqing finished speaking with a smile, then stood up. He walked to Liou Qingcheng’s side, opened her eyes to look, then checked her pulse and sighed softly.

”Master, what’s wrong?” Lin Tian’s heart suddenly tightened, he felt that this master might be the one who could wake Liou Qingcheng and was her only savior.

”This elder sister is so beautiful, but her face is too pale, not good.” Qiyi said innocently.

Hearing this, Lin Tian gave a wry smile.

”She got shot, lost her breath, and later you gave her some energy, preserving her life, right?”

Shuqing’s voice was soft, but to Lin Tian, it was like thunder striking him, leaving him stunned.

Lin Tian had never told anyone about these things. Surprisingly, Shuqing spoke of it without missing a detail.

”How... do you know?” Lin Tian asked, trembling.

”It’s simple, the Maitreya Buddha on her told me. Although the Maitreya Buddha is broken, I can still see some clues.”

”Maitreya Buddha?”

Lin Tian quickly realized. Back at the medical summit auction, Yan Xinrou insisted on buying that piece of Spirit Jade for Liou Qingcheng as a token of her feelings.

It turned out this jade was sold by Shuqing. No wonder Lin Tian found the Dharma name so familiar.

But after returning that night, Lin Tian discovered the Jade Pendant had cracked in half.

Lin Tian thought it accidentally broke during an explosion on the bridge, but now it seemed far more complex.

”Master, what exactly is the use of that Maitreya Buddha, can you tell me?” Lin Tian asked eagerly.

”You’ve already bought the jade, what can’t be told?”

Shuqing said calmly, ”I imagine with your skills, you can see it’s a Spirit Jade with effects to ward off evil and avoid disaster. This jade was nurtured by me for fifty years, hearing the sound of wooden fish and Buddhist scriptures for fifty years.”

”It’s not just a Spirit Jade, it’s a Tribulation-Blocking Spirit Jade.”

”Tribulation-Blocking Spirit Jade?” Lin Tian softly murmured these four words, realizing the Jade Pendant had blocked a disaster for Liou Qingcheng!

”Yes, everyone says I am a sage with attainment who can ascend to immortality. I knew in my youth that I would face a calamity in the future. It’s a heavenly tribulation, a challenge to my cultivation. So I started raising jade with Buddhist scriptures early on to overcome the tribulation.”

”But I later realized: Buddha says: Easy-going, follow the heart, follow nature, follow destiny. It means simply, letting nature take its course is best. Raising that jade, perhaps, was too much for me.”

”If the tribulation is meant to come, let it come. Shuqing is here waiting.”

After finishing, Shuqing placed his hand in front of his chest, reciting, ”Amitabha Buddha~”

Lin Tian was puzzled, ”What if the tribulation can’t be overcome?”

”Then it ends in nirvana.”

He spoke these words lightly, as if indifferent to life and death, as simple as drinking tea.

”No!” Qiyi shouted, ”I don’t want Master to reach nirvana!”

”Haha. Qiyi, nirvana is also perfection, don’t you want your Master to be perfect?”

Qiyi’s clean face lifted, his large eyes filled with confusion, as Master’s words were always so profound and hard to understand.

”Isn’t nirvana no fun?”

”Haha, the topic went far. This Tribulation-Blocking Spirit Jade has been well nurtured, so I thought of giving it to the Medical Association to auction off. One, to block disasters for others. Two, the auction money could be donated to the Red Cross. A win-win, forming a good bond.”

”But I never expected the tribulation to come so swiftly and it would be a mortal one. That’s why the Jade Pendant shattered and couldn’t preserve her life. The jade I’ve nurtured for fifty years, though shattered, I could still sense it.”

”I asked an old friend to do a divination, which said this destined person is in critical danger. Since she has destiny with me, I must save a life. But after seeing you, I knew you weren’t an ordinary person. And looking at your little girlfriend’s complexion, if no one had given her energy, she probably wouldn’t be alive now. This further confirms it.”

Lin Tian listened excitedly, stepping forward, ”So if I give her more energy, she can wake up?”

”The reality isn’t like that. The Spirit Jade can block tribulations, at most eliminating the majority, and the rest was endured with your energy transfer. How could transferring energy still be effective?” After saying this, Shuqing sighed quietly.

”There’s a saying, ’The death penalty can be spared, but the living suffering can’t be escaped.’ Now, this young lady is in such a situation.”
