The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man

Chapter 245: Chapter 244: Writing a Statement

”Shut up.”

Chen Beiguo frowned.

Lin Jiandong was indignant.

”Team Leader, you can’t be so biased! When Leng Yuan has his eye on the house, you protect him. But when I do, I get beaten like this.”

You can’t just pick on an honest person like this.

For a moment, Chen Beiguo didn’t know how to explain.

He knew, of course, that with Leng Yuan’s capabilities, he wouldn’t care about Sweet Girl’s house.

But in Qingshan Team, Leng Yuan was known as a poor bastard who owed a lot of debt and hadn’t paid it off. Now that he wanted to adopt Sweet Girl, it was indeed easy for people to become suspicious.

Chen Jianshe, being Leng Yuan’s number one fan, was the first to speak up.

”That’s bullshit! My Brother Leng would never covet a little girl’s house. Do you think everyone is as shameless as you?”

Zhao Tiezhu also nodded in agreement.

”I also believe Leng Yuan isn’t that kind of person.”

Some believed Leng Yuan, but they were very few.

The crowd all suspected Leng Yuan was just after Sweet Girl’s house. Otherwise, why would he be so kind?

They all knew that when Leng Yuan’s father died, he had left behind a lot of debt, and they didn’t know if it had been paid off yet.

The debt was over eight hundred yuan. Leng Yuan’s monthly salary was twenty-five yuan. Two years’ salary, even without eating or drinking, would only amount to just over five hundred yuan, which wasn’t nearly enough to pay it off.

On top of that, when Leng Yuan and Gu Jiaojiao got their marriage certificate, there were new clothes and a watch. They suspected Leng Yuan hadn’t paid off his debts at all.

The crowd’s minds raced with all sorts of suspicions.

Gu Jiaojiao didn’t even blink.

”Team Leader, how about the team issues a certificate? It can state that the house left by Sweet Girl’s parents will belong to Sweet Girl and Xiao Yang in the future, and no one else will have inheritance rights. If anything were to happen to the two children, the house would revert to the team.”

”That way, no one will have to worry about someone coveting Sweet Girl’s house.”

Chen Beiguo thought this was an excellent idea and agreed on the spot.

”We can do that.”

Chen Beiguo knew that Leng Yuan and Gu Jiaojiao truly didn’t care about the house.

And he wanted to shut these people up as soon as possible.

Without hesitation, he quickly wrote out a certificate.

After writing it, he had all the team cadres sign it, and then had Sweet Girl and Xiao Yang sign as well.

The two children didn’t know how to write their names, so they just used their thumbprints.

The crowd: ...

’Time to shut up!’

There was nothing left to say now.

One way or another, the house had nothing to do with Leng Yuan and Gu Jiaojiao anymore.

So what on earth were they trying to gain by doing this?

Many people couldn’t understand it.

In this day and age, when everyone was scraping by, no one would just go and adopt children.

There was a family in the village where the older brother had passed away, and his own younger brother refused to even care for his own nephew. He wouldn’t spare a single grain of rice for someone else!

But here were Leng Yuan and Gu Jiaojiao, wanting to adopt two completely unrelated children. What on earth were they after?!

Sweet Girl looked at the certificate held out to her, pursed her lips, and didn’t move.

”Big Sister, I don’t want to sign this. I want to give the house to you. I know you’re good to me.”

Sweet Girl suddenly blurted out.

The crowd: ’They knew it! Leng Yuan and Gu Jiaojiao were after the house all along!’

Just as they were about to speak...

Gu Jiaojiao took Sweet Girl’s finger, pressed her thumbprint onto the paper, and did the same for Xiao Yang.

The crowd: ...

’Guess we’ll shut up then!’

With the certificates signed, Gu Jiaojiao took two copies.

One for Sweet Girl, and one for Xiao Yang.

With these kinds of documents, a copy was made for each person who signed and left their thumbprint.

That way, there was no fear of one getting lost.

Now that the adoption papers were in order, Gu Jiaojiao suggested,

”How about this: once the snow stops, we’ll all go to the commune to get the household registrations finalized.”

The team leader nodded. ”Alright.”

After speaking, he looked toward Lin Jiandong.

How could Lin Jiandong dare to have any more objections?

Besides, the house was out of the picture now. Even if he maintained the adoption relationship, the house had nothing to do with him anymore.

At this thought, he wished he could dissolve the relationship immediately.

’What rotten luck!’p>The adoption issue was resolved and a time was set. Next was the matter of compensation.

This time, Gu Jiaojiao didn’t hold back.

”Team Leader, aside from returning the things that belong to Sweet Girl, the Lin Family must also compensate her for her injuries.”

”Five yuan, two catties of eggs, and two catties of white flour.”

”Also, they burned Sweet Girl’s firewood, so they have to replace it. And they took her family’s grain, so they have to return all of it.”

Lin Jiandong trembled.

He had only received ten catties of fine grain from the latest distribution, grain he himself was reluctant to eat. Now he had to give it to Sweet Girl? He refused.

The team leader shot Lin Jiandong a glance and knew what he was about to do.

”If you don’t agree, we can report this to the authorities!”

Lin Jiandong: ...

In the end, the team leader made the decision directly, ordering the compensation exactly as Gu Jiaojiao had stated.

Lin Jiandong didn’t dare risk it being reported to the authorities, so he could only grit his teeth and accept.
