Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Looking at all these supplies, I decided not to shortchange myself, so I sat up, took out a meat bun and a bag of milk, and had a midnight snack just before twelve.

I hope I grow taller and gain some weight soon. Since this female friend hasn’t arrived, the doctor said it’s due to malnutrition. I need to make an effort. Even though this girl is so skinny she looks different, her skin is whiter and finer than mine. Her features are also quite pretty; at least she’s a little beauty.

The bad luck from my past life shouldn’t have followed me here. I’ve been here for several days, and nothing bad has happened yet.

This life is to make up for the regrets of the last. I didn’t have a man in my past life, not even a man’s embrace. So, in this life, I must find a tall man, not too handsome, and have two children.

Thinking of this, Jiang Xinyu felt a little excited, but the plot from the book that suddenly popped into her head dampened her spirits.

Transmigrating into a book isn’t bad after all, at least I know the outcome, which I can try to avoid.

In the book, I’m just a helper for the female protagonist. Her success is because of my work.

I don’t want to change anything. She is her own person. Her success is her own skill, as long as she doesn’t plot against me.

Thinking of this, Jiang Xinyu squinted her eyes, still unable to figure out how Jiang Xinyu’s job in the book ended up in Kong Mengjie’s hands or how she went crazy.

She had no clue about those things. But it shouldn’t be a big deal. Those plot points happened earlier, and a lot seems to have changed now.

The same logic applies, as long as she doesn’t hurt me, Kong Mengjie can have her harem; it has nothing to do with me. But Wang Ailing must be saved. For her kindness to me, I can’t let her marry the man who has a white moonlight in his heart.

Anyway, now that I’m here, I definitely won’t live like a lunatic as the book wrote.

I want to enjoy life. My destiny is in my hands, not in heaven’s. From now on, I’ll follow my heart, confront what I don’t like, solve what wrongs me, and if someone can’t see reason, then just deal with it directly. I’ve found it’s much more enjoyable to act than to think.

No more looking around cautiously, just live life straightforwardly.

As for how to live in the future, Jiang Xinyu really has no ideas, just let nature take its course, but try to avoid danger as much as possible.

This era has its survival laws. But no matter what, one should live low-key.

Especially since I have a big secret. While I’m still young, taking care of my health is key. I don’t want to be famous, nor live above others, just an ordinary life is fine.

In the past life, it was all scheming and climbing up the ladder every day. Absolutely avoid that this life. Having died once, I know better the preciousness of life.

Jiang Xinyu suddenly felt her heart open wider, as if standing apart from the secular world, liking this feeling and enjoying a sense of superiority and disdain for the masses.

Perhaps it was the milk. Gradually she felt sleepy.

She was woken up by the sound of knocking the next morning, but this time Jiang Xinyu opened her eyes with a smile. She briskly sat up, tidied herself, and hurried to open the door, knowing it must be Wang Ailing outside, no one else knocked like that.

”Xinyu, hurry up; I still need to leave after breakfast.”

”Okay, do you want to borrow my watch so you don’t miss the time?”

”No need, it’s sunny today, I can tell the time by the sky.”

Jiang Xinyu didn’t say much more. She wasn’t one to insist falsely. Since she didn’t need it, that was that.

The two of them went to the canteen, and once again Jiang Xinyu became the center of attention. She wasn’t quite used to it, felt like she was on the headlines every day.

Yesterday, her fierce side deeply impressed people. Everyone knows the Jiang family’s daughter went crazy, daring to chop at people with a knife. It’s best to stay away from her; why risk peaceful days? Porcelain can’t clash with clay pots, better avoid losses.

Breakfast was as thin as last night’s. Even though everyone was dissatisfied, what could you do? Even a clever woman can’t cook without rice, without grain, what can be done?

Jiang Xinyu thought it would be tough for the village chief, realizing the village reported false production, so the storage hardly had any grain left, otherwise, they wouldn’t be drinking thin porridge so soon.

But that’s not her concern, and she doesn’t have the ability to save everyone. The big environment is like this; who can shake and change it?

The two girls held their bowls and found a seat in the canteen to eat.

On the way home, Wang Ailing reminded Jiang Xinyu, ”You can’t go deep into the mountains alone. Wait for me to come back. I’ve already told my brother, and when he’s free in the next couple of days, he will take us up the mountain.”

Jiang Xinyu nodded eagerly, ”Sis, I know, I definitely won’t go deep into the mountains, I’ll just gather firewood today. Go early and come back early, and I hope brother Xiao Long has success in the matchmaking.”

Wang Ailing laughed. This version of Jiang Xinyu is likable, much better than the little girl who always kept her head down.

Jiang Xinyu returned home, cut two pieces of plastic sheet, and delivered them next door. It’s important to maintain neighborly relations, after all.

Liu Manquan’s wife held the plastic that Jiang Xinyu handed over, feeling uncomfortable, blaming herself for not helping yesterday.

She resolved to look out for this girl more in the future. Watching her head to the mountain with her basket, she quickly told her son to gather firewood and deliver it to the girl. It must be two goods joining as one; this girl isn’t a fool.

Jiang Xinyu still went to the valley; there were many branches she could chop and she even discovered several dead trees with fungi, which she collected.

The branches were all stored in the space; now she needed to prepare some leaves, they were easier to light. She needed to gather more.

She ate a bun, two sausages, a meat bun, and drank two bags of milk. She also had a handful of milk candies and chocolates.

She was like a little mouse, happily sneaking snacks.

That way, she didn’t feel too tired. One should live in joy; working in such a joyful atmosphere felt especially vigorous.

After storing over ten baskets of leaves, she shouldered a basket to head back.

Before she left the mountain, she ran into Zhou Lihong who was gathering firewood. Zhou Lihong gave a snort, full of disdain for her.

Jiang Xinyu smiled good-naturedly, not wanting to lower herself to the level of the dim-witted. This fool later worked at the textile factory after the heroine became the factory manager. What happened in between was unknown, but the end result was she got pneumoconiosis.
