Chapter 537: Chapter 537: The Deep Kiss Under the Torrington Tree【2】

Arlo Seys looked gentle, stars twinkling in his eyes, as he affectionately ruffled Ariel Morris’s head.

”Arlo, the scenery around Royal View City is really beautiful. It’s the first time I’m seriously observing the landscape surrounding Royal View City.”

French romantic sycamore trees line all the roads around Royal View City, and they’re incredibly beautiful.

Arlo Seys’ lips curved into a faint smile, ”If you like it, we can come here for walks every day. Now it’s just the two of us, but in the future, it could be us three, or even four.”

Ariel Morris nodded, a smile on her face, ”Arlo, why did you so easily make a ten-year promise to me back then? I went to Dublin for eight years, and you really waited for eight years.”

Arlo Seys paused for a moment and earnestly replied, ”I didn’t think of anything else at the time. When you said what if you left, asking me what would happen, I spoke without thinking and promised ten years. I said I’d wait for you for ten years.”

”Later, you quietly left the country without a planned return. Among the false truths fabricated by the Morris Family, I hated you to the core. I once was confused too. I asked myself, Arlo Seys, Ariel Morris has left, will you give up?”

”Later I discovered that the hardest thing in the world is to forget. I couldn’t forget the promise I made, couldn’t forget the ten-year vow. So I told myself, Arlo Seys, wait; wait for her, ten years. This is your promise, you must keep your word.”

”So I held onto the idea of fulfilling my promise, waiting for you, and in the eighth year, you returned.”

Ariel Morris halted her steps, looking deeply at Arlo Seys, ”What if after ten years I still hadn’t returned?”

”Then I’d wait another ten years. Life isn’t just about one decade. After youth passes, there’s middle age; after middle age, comes the white-haired years of old age. Someday, you will come back.” Arlo Seys replied without hesitation, his tone serious and unwavering.

Ariel Morris grabbed Arlo Seys’ hand, lifted her head, leaned in close, and kissed him deeply.

Tossing and turning, tangled in deep affection, they embraced and kissed fervently.

Arlo Seys was stunned for a few seconds by her sudden kiss but quickly regained his thoughts and embraced Ariel Morris, pulling her closer, deepening the kiss.

Under the sycamore tree, the evening breeze gently stirred, bringing warmth and happiness.

The two silhouettes in the white and bright streetlight, under the sycamore tree, expressed their deepest emotions with their deepest kiss.

After a long while, they finally parted.

Ariel Morris looked at Arlo Seys and smiled gently, ”With you beside me, you’re the destination I always want to return to, no matter where I go.”

Arlo Seys indulgently extended his long fingers, gently tapped the tip of Ariel Morris’s nose, a smile in his eyes: ”Just hearing you say that is enough.”

Ariel Morris linked her arm with Arlo Seys and continued walking. As leaves fell, Ariel Morris reached out to catch one, gazing at the yellowing sycamore leaf in her hand, her voice slightly melancholic: ”Foolish Arlo, one decade is enough to wait, don’t be foolish again. If I leave one day and never return, would you really wait for me all your life?”

”Why wouldn’t I wait? You said my side is the destination you always want to return to, no matter where you go. So no matter how you play or wander, one day you’ll return to your destination.” Arlo Seys replied firmly.

”Why are you still as foolish as when you were young?” Ariel Morris lightly tapped Arlo Seys’ face with the leaf, a faint smile on her lips.

”But I’m consistently foolish only for Ariel Morris.” Arlo Seys pursed his lips, gazing steadily at Ariel Morris.

Ariel Morris’s eyes suddenly brimmed with tears as she glared at Arlo Seys, ”You just won’t be satisfied until you make me cry from sentimentality!”

”Since you know tears are sentimental, don’t cry. You’re my wife; being good to you is naturally the most normal thing. Cry for what?”
