Chapter 509: Chapter 509 I Am Willing

”Arlo, what are you looking at?” Ariel Morris’s voice sounded from beside him.

Arlo Seys shook his head and smiled deeply at Ariel Morris, ”There are a lot of seashells on the beach, aren’t you going to pick some up?”

Ariel Morris immediately nodded, caught up with Daisy Grant in front of them, and happily said, ”Daisy, shall we collect seashells? Natural seashells must be very beautiful.”

Daisy Grant nodded.

The two held hands and picked up seashells on the beach. Ariel Morris carefully selected and picked about a dozen she found pretty, while the two men behind watched the two crouching figures ahead, their eyes full of warmth and affection.

Ariel Morris turned to look at Daisy Grant with her seashells, curious to see how many she had picked up. Upon noticing Daisy Grant’s empty hands, she asked in surprise, ”Daisy, why haven’t you picked any?”

Daisy Grant’s gaze was searching intently on the sandy beach.

Still nothing, none of what she wanted.

Daisy Grant looked up at Ariel Morris and shook her head slightly, her voice a bit forlorn, ”I haven’t found the one I’m looking for.”

Dawn Sutherland paused for a moment, approached her, crouched down next to Daisy Grant, and asked, ”What kind are you looking for, Daisy?”

Dawn Sutherland’s sudden closeness made Daisy Grant’s cheeks slightly flush. She slightly turned her head to look at Dawn’s overly handsome face and replied somewhat unnaturally, ”Purple, I want a purple one, Dawn.”

Dawn Sutherland’s gaze immediately fell on the seashells on the beach in search.

Dawn Sutherland, crouching, moved step by step, his fingers rummaging through the sand with a focused and meticulous expression.

In the blazing summer sun, Dawn Sutherland’s clean face against the vast blue sky and sea made him appear even more ethereal and genteel.

Daisy Grant stood up, watching Dawn Sutherland carefully, and her fingers tightened in her palms.

How could she not love a brother like this, earnest in his search for her?

Daisy Grant looked at Dawn Sutherland, pressed her lips together, ”Dawn, forget it, stop looking. Purple seashells are rare to begin with. Every time I come to the beach, I can’t help but search, but after all these years, I’ve never found one. Dawn, forget it, I don’t want it anymore, stop looking.”

Her voice held a trace of disappointment—how could he not hear it?

Dawn Sutherland’s hand searching paused for a moment, yet his gaze remained unusually resolute.

After speaking to Dawn Sutherland, Daisy Grant turned around and smiled at Ariel Morris to mask her disappointment, ”Ariel, shall we go back and cook? We can eat and then come out to play again; I’m a bit hungry.”

”Sure.”

Ariel Morris and Daisy Grant headed back to the cabin to cook.

As they walked away, Arlo Seys with his tall figure crouched down next to Dawn Sutherland.

Dawn Sutherland’s hands continued searching through the sand, his determined gaze making Arlo Seys sigh, ”Dawn, you still can’t control your feelings for her.”

Dawn Sutherland didn’t stop, his eyes searching for a purple shell, his voice tinged with bitterness, ”How can I control it? Arlo, I love Daisy just as you love Ariel. I can’t help it, and even thinking about her becoming my sister-in-law soon, I don’t know how I’ll cope. I will love Daisy all my life.”

Arlo Seys helped Dawn Sutherland search for a purple shell, sighing, ”Dawn, this deep love that you can’t express is torture for you.”

Dawn Sutherland gave a bitter smile, but his gaze was resolute, ”But I can’t control my heart, nor do I want to.”

They searched on the beach for a long time, finding white, red, gray, and brown shells, but no purple ones.

Arlo Seys picked some red and pure white shells to take back to give to Ariel Morris. Turning to the dejected Dawn Sutherland, he consoled, ”Forget it, Dawn. We’ve looked for over an hour and haven’t found anything. Let’s go back to the cabin and eat?”
