Chapter 511: Chapter 511 The Meaning of the Purple Shell [2]

Dawn Sutherland and Arlo Seys returned to the cabin.

Ariel Morris and Daisy Grant had already prepared breakfast. Seeing the two enter, Ariel Morris, holding two bowls of porridge, looked at them and asked, ”Where did you two go so early?”

Arlo Seys was about to speak when Dawn Sutherland interrupted him gently, ”We went for a run on the beach.”

Arlo Seys glanced at Daisy Grant, who was setting the table, and chose not to expose Dawn Sutherland’s lie.

”Come have breakfast,” Ariel Morris called out.

”Alright,” Arlo Seys smiled lightly and took a seat.

Dawn Sutherland also sat down. The four of them sat at the table eating breakfast. Dawn looked at Daisy Grant beside him, unfolded a purple shell in his palm, and handed it to her, saying softly, ”Daisy, this is the purple shell you wanted.”

Daisy Grant, who was drinking porridge, dropped her spoon into the bowl with a crisp sound.

Looking at the purple shell in Dawn Sutherland’s palm, Daisy’s eyes misted over. She reached out, fingers trembling slightly, to take the purple shell from him.

”A purple shell—it’s really a purple shell! Brother, where did you find it? How did you come across it?”

Daisy Grant’s voice was filled with uncontrollable excitement and happiness. Dawn Sutherland’s eyes sparkled, and he smiled lightly, ”I picked it up by accident while running with Arlo. Maybe I’m just lucky.”

Ariel Morris, across the table, was surprised, ”That’s incredibly lucky! Brother Dawn, Daisy said she never found one whenever she went to the beach, and here you are, just jogging and you find one!!”

Could luck be influenced by looks? Does being good-looking mean being lucky?

Arlo Seys glanced at his good friend, received the pleading look from Dawn, pressed his thin lips together, and continued eating breakfast, once again choosing not to expose the truth.

Dawn’s love was deep and silent. A love that couldn’t be spoken, only silently given. For his brother Dawn, Arlo felt a silent sigh in his heart.

Daisy’s fingers caressed the pale purple shell, her voice a little hoarse as she softly murmured, ”I finally found you.”

Ariel Morris looked at Daisy, ”Besides the color, does the purple shell have any special meaning? Why do you only want a purple shell?”

Daisy’s body visibly tensed. She looked up, trying hard not to look at the clean and elegant person beside her, and replied to Ariel Morris, ”Purple represents luck. Did you know that, Ariel?”

Ariel Morris nodded, ”I’ve heard of it.”

Daisy smiled bitterly, ”And I’m not a lucky person, so I want to find a bit of luck to change my luck.”

Daisy felt her half-truth, half-lie was quite unconvincing!

But Ariel Morris didn’t notice anything unusual, she nodded and said no more.

Next to her, Dawn Sutherland gazed at Daisy Grant, his eyes deep and unfathomable, with his gaze finally landing on the purple shell in her hand.

Daisy seemed to have something unsaid. What does the purple shell truly symbolize? Why didn’t she say it openly in front of her friends? Is the meaning so hard to express?

After breakfast, Ariel Morris pulled Arlo Seys, saying she wanted to go out to sea with Aunt Brown’s husband to witness some fishing. Arlo had always pampered her and went along with her plans.

Daisy Grant, holding the purple shell, returned to her room, her eyes a little vacant.

Dawn Sutherland watched her enter her room, wanting to speak but holding back, finally sighing heavily and returning to his room to catch up on sleep.

When Dawn Sutherland woke up, it was already dark.

He got up, went to the dining room to drink water, and saw a note on the table.

He picked up the note and saw the neat, pretty handwriting.

”Brother, your throat is not feeling good, maybe you caught a cold. I made ginger tea and kept it warm. Drink it. I’ve gone for a walk on the beach.”

It was a note left by Daisy Grant.
