Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 336. A Complete Victory. Humanity’s True Strength

The Celestial Court’s counterattack caught everyone off guard.

Even without Lu Yuan making a move himself, some of those under his command had attained a breakthrough into the Sage Realm. Their strength was astonishing, and they had crushed the plans of the Outer Cosmos beings before the latter could even begin.

Almost everyone that the Outer Cosmos races had sent was slain. Worse still, the humans had uploaded the footage online, humiliating them in full view of the world.

Not only had they failed to regain face, they had suffered even greater losses.

The Outer Cosmos beings were furious beyond measure, but they also understood one thing very clearly. Under the current circumstances, there was nothing they could do.

The reason was simple.

Now, aside from Lu Yuan, the Milky Way Starfield had Sage Realm experts of its own. And judging by the numbers, there were already two of them.

That was a force no one could afford to ignore. More importantly, they knew very well that the humans of this world cultivated and evolved faster than most. Given enough time, powerful figures were bound to emerge.

They had always been trying to prevent that from happening. That was why they investigated and plundered every blessed land they found, regardless great or small.

On one hand, it strengthened themselves. On the other hand, it hindered the evolution of the people of this world. It served two purposes at once.

But because of Lu Yuan, the plan had been progressing very slowly. And now, the people of Earth had begun to show their own strength as well.

The various Outer Cosmos races increasingly felt that suppressing this world was no longer realistic.

The Milky Way Starfield may have declined in the present age, but every great race knew how glorious it had once been.

They could already see it. Perhaps in this era, the Milky Way Starfield might really reclaim its former glory.

And if that happened... what about the Celestial Court Lu Yuan had founded?

Could it rise in the same way?

If so, would that not mean that sooner or later, they themselves would be suppressed?

More importantly, would most of the blessed lands and opportunities end up in the hands of Earth’s human race?

The major races of each starfield had more or less come to the same conclusion. They understood that if things continued this way, enormous uncertainty would await them in the future.

Some of them had originally planned to use the opportunities arising from Earth’s awakening to strengthen themselves. But now, that no longer seemed easy to achieve. As such, they could not help but believe that Earth’s human race had to be suppressed.

Yet in the end, they took no action.

The reason, again, was simple; they lacked the strength at this point in time.

The various starfields were still too far away from this place. On top of that, most of the Sages who had descended before had already been slaughtered by Lu Yuan.

The problem now was that after making their calculations, the great races of the starfields realized that even if they joined forces, they still might not be comparable to the Celestial Court in overall strength.

Not to mention that in the current operation, Lu Yuan, the strongest among the humans, had not made a single move. He had not even shown his face.

Everyone knew he was the most troublesome of them all. Yet without lifting a hand, he had already left them unable to cope.

So after careful consideration, they ultimately swallowed their anger.

They truly had no other option. If they continued to act, they would only suffer more losses. And if they provoked Lu Yuan’s wrath, the consequences would be even more terrifying.

They could only wait for the powerful experts of their own races to descend before trying to find another way.

Fortunately, the power of the Separation of Heaven and Earth was gradually weakening.

That day was not far off.

Also, they had already received news that soon, a new group would descend. The top ten great races would be among them.

The Eternals and the Ji Clan already had deep blood feuds with Lu Yuan.

A great war would break out sooner or later.

They only had to wait.

If something happened to Lu Yuan then, if the two races managed to kill him, that would become their chance. For now, they could only endure and wait out in silence.

As such, the various races all decided not to respond to the matter at all. They would treat it as yet another crushing loss and choose silence.

Meanwhile, within the upper ranks of the Celestial Court, Elder Ji, Elder Yun, Zhu Qingyu, and the others all let out a small sigh of relief when they sensed that the Outer Cosmos beings had made no further moves.

It was not that they feared war. But once conflict began, people would die. The Celestial Court, as it now stood, still could not withstand overly heavy losses.

Fortunately, both their plan and their objective had already been achieved.

Soon after, they sent the news to Lu Yuan. After all, this was the first victory the Celestial Court had won without his direct intervention.

On the other side, Lu Yuan and Jiang Ningxian had already arrived in the region of Ancient Mount Shu. Over this period of time, they had passed through many places and taken in countless sights.

Earth, in the midst of its awakening, was unimaginably magnificent. The scenery of its famous mountains and great rivers was breathtaking beyond compare.

Even Jiang Ningxian was astonished when she saw the sights. At some places, she could not help but linger.

After arriving at Ancient Mount Shu, curiosity appeared on her face as she said, ”The ancient records of my clan mention that, in a certain era, a lineage did exist on Mount Shu. They devoted themselves wholly to the sword and were known as sword cultivators. Sadly, too much time has passed, and only a few scattered fragments remain.”

As she spoke, Jiang Ningxian looked over the mountain ranges below and could not help letting out a sigh. Especially after noticing the ninety-nine sword steles, she let out another faint sigh.

A lineage had simply vanished like this. If not for the Global Awakening, and if not for those surviving records, who would even know it had once existed?

”Though the years may have worn it away, its legacy was never truly lost. Humanity’s greatest strength has never been in being born mighty, but in passing its flame from one generation to the next. The will of those who came before lives on in those who follow, and one day, they will walk a road even broader than their predecessors.”

”When the sages of antiquity sealed off this world, they did so to preserve a final spark. They had no way of knowing what the future would become.

”But one thing they knew for sure was that someone, someday, would carry on their will.”

Picking up where Jiang Ningxian had left off, Lu Yuan thought of Guang Chengzi. He also thought of what he had seen in Shennongjia.

Those sages had fought against great enemies and never once given in. Looking at the scene before him now, Lu Yuan could not help but feel a touch of emotion.

”Passing the flame onward... carrying on the will of those who came before?” Jiang Ningxian paused, slightly stunned. Then she nodded solemnly, feeling that his words made perfect sense.

Why had the Jiang Clan left the Milky Way Starfield?

It had not been an escape.

It had been a campaign of conquest.

Was that not, in itself, a continuation of their forefathers’ will?

After thinking for a moment, she spoke again. ”Alright. I’ve seen just about enough. It’s probably time for us to head back.”

Jiang Ningxian understood that Earth was now in an extremely special phase. And Lu Yuan, who had founded the Celestial Court, was bound to be doing everything he could to protect the living beings of this world. He could not keep wandering and sightseeing with her forever.

The two of them had already traveled together for quite some time. It really was time to return.

She could clearly sense it. The power of the Separation of Heaven and Earth was still fading.

Besides, there would be plenty of time in the future. There was no need to rush now. Perhaps after this, the two of them could even venture into the cosmos together and traverse the starfields.

”Alright,” Lu Yuan said.

That had been his intention as well, because he had already seen the message Zhu Qingyu and the others had sent earlier.

He knew the Celestial Court’s operation this time had been a complete success. However, he also understood that while the Outer Cosmos beings might endure for a time, they would not endure forever.

The real trial had yet to begin.
