Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 325. Guang Chengzi’s Gift, a Legendary Treasure, the Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger

Lu Yuan had actually noticed it from the very beginning. He had simply not brought it up, because of how important the matter was.

It was clearly connected to the great calamity, yet after Guang Chengzi finished speaking of that calamity, Lu Yuan suddenly realized something. Now, he wanted to confirm it.

He felt that for a figure like Guang Chengzi, every sentence, every single word carried deeper meaning.

Opposite him, Guang Chengzi paused for a moment after hearing the question, then shook his head with a smile. ”I am not entirely certain myself, so I cannot tell you. Some things are meant for you to uncover on your own. When that day comes, perhaps all the secrets will be revealed.

”You carry the bloodline of Huaxia, and I have seen that the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token has chosen you. That significance is anything but ordinary.

”As your elder, there is not much I can do. At the same time, I cannot offer you nothing but empty words. I have a gift for you. Take it as a present from an elder to a junior.”

As Guang Chengzi spoke, a smile appeared on his face. He looked just like a kind and benevolent elder. Just as he had said earlier, he truly regarded Lu Yuan as one of the younger generation.

Soon, Guang Chengzi raised his hand slightly, and waves of light began to emerge.

The coffin beneath his feet also began to radiate divine light.

In the next instant, a red gourd abruptly appeared, floating in midair. It was not very large, nor did it look remarkable in any way. No particular aura could even be sensed from it.

It seemed utterly plain and ordinary. Placed outside, not a single Awakened would have given it a second glance.

But the moment Lu Yuan saw the red gourd, shock flashed through his eyes, and his heart trembled.

Could this be...?

He had read countless traditional myths and legends of Huaxia and remembered many things clearly, though he had always taken some to be mere tales.

Even so, he also knew that some legends weren’t born out of thin air. And this gourd in front of him brought many things to mind.

”This item was refined by an old friend of mine,” Guang Chengzi said, revealing the red gourd’s origin. ”Like me, he died in the great calamity. But unlike me, he left behind neither will nor body. He vanished from this world completely. As for this red gourd, it bears a fine name—the Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger.”

It was an exceedingly renowned name.

The Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger.[1]

Lu Yuan had even heard that name in certain legends...

”This object is incredibly formidable. Use it with care.”

Guang Chengzi continued, ”I know that you also have the Heaven-Flipping Seal in your possession. But that Heaven-Flipping Seal was utterly damaged in the battle I fought, and less than a tenth of its former power remains. I can repair it for you and restore it to half the might it possessed at its peak.”

After saying that, he beckoned again, and an indescribable power poured directly into the Heaven-Flipping Seal.

Lu Yuan immediately noticed that the cracks upon the seal had diminished considerably. A powerful force welled forth from within it.

”Many thanks, Immortal Elder.”

He truly had not expected not only to obtain the legendary Immortal-Slaying Flying Dagger, but also to have the Heaven-Flipping Seal in his hand restored by more than half, its might rising to an even greater level.

He knew that his battle strength would surge once again because of this even if his cultivation realm itself had not changed.

”Very well. My time is about up.” Guang Chengzi spoke again, and his figure became a little more illusory. The ancient weariness in his eyes deepened further than before, tinged with reluctance.

Lu Yuan understood.

This man belonged to this world. He wanted to stay, but in the end could not. That was why he looked like this.

”Oh, yes. There is one final matter.”

After a brief pause, Guang Chengzi continued, ”When you first entered this place, that red-furred monster within my coffin was the Extracosmic Heavenly Demon attached to my will. When you defeated it, you also drove it out. But remember this well: Extracosmic Heavenly Demons possess countless methods, and some of them have remained hidden in the deep reaches beyond the stars. If you ever encounter such beings, remember to kill them without fail.”

His expression was incomparably grave as he spoke.

Only those who had truly faced an Extracosmic Heavenly Demon knew how terrifying such creatures were.

And Guang Chengzi clearly thought very highly of Lu Yuan and placed great hopes upon him.

He had not only said much, but also helped him greatly. If one had to put it plainly, Lu Yuan had indeed obtained an enormous fortune here, and he had also come to understand clearly what the great calamity truly was.

This journey had been of immense importance. It had by no means been in vain.

After hearing Guang Chengzi’s words, Lu Yuan drew a deep breath, nodded, and said, ”Yes, Immortal Elder.”

Guang Chengzi smiled at that, lifted his gaze to the heavens once more. Yet, he still could not see beyond, and softly said, ”I... shall depart.”

As his voice fell, his figure vanished completely.

Like an immortal from legend, he left with effortless grace.

And now, only Lu Yuan remained before the coffin.

He looked at the scene before him. This place no longer held anything special.

All auras had fallen silent, as though everything that had just happened had never taken place at all.

”This junior respectfully sees you off, Immortal Elder.”

Lu Yuan bowed slightly. He knew the other man could no longer hear him, but he did it all the same for the reason being Guang Chengzi was one of his forebears, for the reason being he had perished resisting the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

From any perspective, Guang Chengzi was worthy of respect.

But very soon, Lu Yuan realized another problem.

The sole entrance from before had disappeared.

So the question now was: how was he supposed to get out?

This was a secret realm personally created by Guang Chengzi. The space here was stable to an extreme degree.

With Lu Yuan’s current strength, breaking it was impossible. Even if he were to become a Great Sage on the spot, he still would not be able to shatter it.

Buzz, buzz, buzz—

However, at that very moment, he saw waves of radiant light emerge from the bottom of the coffin before him. Layer upon layer of aura seeped out from within it.

Clearly, this was the exit.

At the sight of that, Lu Yuan let out a breath of relief. Without another word, he stepped forward and climbed into the coffin directly.

Buzz.

In the next instant, his figure disappeared.

When he emerged again, Lu Yuan discovered that he had already left the final land and was now outside that massive mountain.

He could also sense that with the disappearance of the red-furred monster, the strange aura that had not belonged to this world had vanished completely as well. It could no longer be felt at all.

”Extracosmic Heavenly Demons. The great calamity. It may come ten thousand years from now, or maybe a hundred years from now.”

At that moment, Lu Yuan recalled Guang Chengzi’s words. The elder had not stated exactly when the great calamity would descend. But from those words, Lu Yuan understood that it could happen at any time.

More importantly, Guang Chengzi had also said that Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were hidden somewhere within this cosmos.

What were the Outer-Cosmos beings worth by comparison? The true crisis had not yet even begun.

Shaking his head, Lu Yuan stopped thinking further. He cast a glance at the vast mountain range before him, then said nothing more. Instead, he spread out his divine sense to search for Jiang Haokong, Zhu Qingyu, and the others.

But soon, he opened his eyes. His brows drew together sharply.

He could not detect any trace of them.
