Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 329. A Bad Premonition, a Promised Battle, Seclusion Again?

A burial ground.

That was what Lu Yuan understood this place to be.

Guang Chengzi had buried himself in the very place where he had once attained the Dao.

Unfortunately, Lu Yuan still did not know what the man had encountered before his death. But he was certain of one thing: those Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were powerful, and terrifying.

Otherwise, a legendary figure like Guang Chengzi would not have died in the end.

At the same time, Lu Yuan also inferred that a great battle must have erupted within the Immortal Cave Secret Realm. Otherwise, the power of that Extracosmic Heavenly Demon could not have manifested in this place.

He did not dwell on it any further. Together with the others, he left the Immortal Cave Secret Realm.

Many Awakened and Outer-Cosmos beings still remained in the Yellow Mountain region. Most of them simply had not gone inside, believing the place to be too dangerous.

Among them were subordinates of the Eternal Race and the Celestial Race, namely the Netherbulls and the Spirit Clan.

When those two races saw Lu Yuan and the others emerge, they instinctively retreated.

They had witnessed the battle that had taken place here before. They knew that this human from the Milky Way Starfield was someone they absolutely could not afford to provoke.

Of course, Lu Yuan did not take those two races too seriously either. After calling over the Golden-Winged Great Peng, he departed Yellow Mountain directly with Zhu Qingyu, Jiang Haokong, and the others.

The purpose of this trip had already been fulfilled. There was no meaning in remaining any longer. It would be better to return first and let his subordinates digest what they had gained.

And Lu Yuan knew very well that this was the time of the Third Awakening.

The situation outside was changing almost by the day. If he was not there to hold the line, it would be very easy for something serious to happen, which was the last thing he wanted.

Soon enough, Lu Yuan and the others vanished completely.

The Nether Bull Clan and the Spirit Clan continued staring at the entrance to the Immortal Cave, waiting anxiously.

But as time passed, a growing sense of foreboding slowly rose in their hearts.

The folded space housing the secret realm had already become extremely unstable. It was on the verge of closing. Yet there was still no sign of Lei Xiao, Yu Heng, or the others appearing.

That made them wonder if something really happened.

In the end, they still felt it should be impossible. After all, both Lei Xiao and Yu Heng had reached the Lesser Sage Realm.

However, when the secret realm completely closed, and there was still no sign of them, they panicked.

They finally became certain.

Something had happened.

On the other side, after traveling for some time, the Golden-Winged Great Peng finally carried Zhu Qingyu and the others back to Mount Tai.

Because they had all benefited from the Innate Spirit Water, they immediately entered seclusion as soon as they returned.

As for Lu Yuan, he naturally did not shortchange the Golden-Winged Great Peng for its hard work this time. Using the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Token, he granted it even more Providence.

The latter immediately returned to Jade Emperor Peak to refine and absorb it.

After that, Lu Yuan went to see Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the others. When he learned that nothing major had happened during this period, he felt somewhat relieved.

At the same time, he also learned that the disturbances occurring across the various regions were becoming increasingly violent. Aside from the changes involving the outer cosmos, large numbers of mutated beasts had also begun appearing, evolving continuously, and growing in number.

Of course, the Peacock King and the Nine-tailed Fox King had dealt with all of that. They had directly absorbed some of the more powerful ones into the Celestial Court to bolster its strength.

That surprised Lu Yuan somewhat, because the situation was completely different from his previous life.

But after thinking it over, he found nothing strange about it because he had founded the Celestial Court this time!

Afterward, Lu Yuan and Jiang Haokong prepared to return to their residence.

But by coincidence, they ran into Jiang Ningxian, who had just emerged from seclusion.

The aura emanating from her was even denser than before, and was powerful to the extreme. It even seemed to surpass Lu Yuan’s faintly.

”My sister’s talent is even higher than mine. Before she left back then, she had already reached the Lesser Sage Realm. Now, she’s about to enter the Great Sage Realm. Well? What do you think?” Jiang Haokong said with a smile as soon as he saw this.

Among his peers, the only person he had ever truly admired was his sister.

Jiang Ningxian completely ignored her younger brother and looked directly at Lu Yuan as she asked, ”Lu Yuan, what did you discover in the Immortal’s Cave Secret Realm?”

”It was very unusual. A great secret was hidden there.”

Lu Yuan did not conceal a single thing about Guang Chengzi’s words because he understood very well that the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were a crisis facing the entire universe.

It was impossible to resolve relying on individual strength alone.

And the Jiang Clan, being one of the top ten powers among the Top 100 Starfields, absolutely needed to know.

”Extracosmic Heavenly Demons... that title sounds very familiar,” Jiang Haokong said after hearing this. ”Sis, don’t our Jiang Clan’s ancient texts have a passage related to them?”

”Yes. It comes from our ancestor’s handwritten notes, where they were described as a great enemy,” Jiang Ningxian nodded, then continued, ”It’s just that in the past, we always thought the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons referred to a single individual. But now it seems it’s not that simple. They are great enemies from beyond this world.”

After hearing Lu Yuan’s explanation, the siblings both turned solemn, clearly realizing the seriousness of the matter. Especially since this had come from the mouth of Immortal Guang Chengzi himself.

A crisis capable of threatening the entire starry cosmos.

”So the campaign the Primordial Dragon spoke of back in the Kunlun Secret Realm... was that also because of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons?”

Jiang Ningxian thought back to what had happened before and could not help asking. She was really very clever to have drawn the connection immediately.

Lu Yuan nodded at that, then also told them what he had discovered in Shennongjia.

That was where the ancestor of the Jiang Clan, the Human Sovereign, Shennong, had once been.

And that only made the two of them more solemn.

”I’ll send word back to the clan and have them investigate the details of these so-called Extracosmic Heavenly Demons,” Jiang Ningxian said. She felt that the information currently in hand was still far too limited, while the clan possessed many ancient records. Perhaps they could uncover something.

Lu Yuan agreed.

As for the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons, all they knew was that they posed a threat. The specifics remained unclear.

As the saying went, know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated.

If they did not even know what the enemy was, how could they deal with what was to come?

The great enemy had not yet appeared, and the great calamity had not yet descended, but preparations still had to be made in advance.

The three of them chatted a little longer, and Lu Yuan was just about to leave, when Jiang Haokong suddenly spoke.

”Hold on. We still have unfinished business.”

Naturally, he was referring to the arranged battle between them.

Jiang Ningxian was about to say something, but Lu Yuan waved a hand and smiled faintly. ”All right.”

The next moment, the two figures vanished on the spot.

Seeing this, Jiang Ningxian could not help feeling a headache coming on, though she did not bother interfering.

She knew that the two of them would not truly fight to the point of losing control now. As for who would win, she already had a vague inkling in her heart.

And so, half a day passed.

Lu Yuan was the first to return to Mount Tai. Jiang Ningxian happened to be in the courtyard, and the two looked at each other without saying much.

She turned and went straight back into her room, preparing to continue her secluded cultivation.

Not long afterward, Jiang Haokong returned as well. He was downcast and happened to run into his sister. He looked somewhat disheveled.

”What? You lost?” Jiang Ningxian found it a little amusing at the sight.

He seemed to have been provoked on the spot and immediately threw down a harsh vow. ”Defeat is only temporary. I’m going back into seclusion. The next time I come out, I’ll definitely win back my honor.”

With that, he strode directly into his room as well.
