Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 321. The Blood-Red Monster, a Devil’s Land? The Truth Revealed!

As time passed, the blood-red mist and radiance gradually enveloped the entire region.

That strange, indescribable aura swept across everyone. All of them, including Lu Yuan himself, felt an overwhelming sense of danger.

It was as though some terrifying existence were threatening their lives at every moment, filling them with unease.

”What’s happening? Isn’t the thing inside that coffin supposed to be some sort of providence?” someone said, their face turning pale.

Others attempted to spread their spiritual sense and scan the surroundings, only to discover that their spiritual sense could no longer leave their bodies. If not for the fact that they still could feel the power within themselves, they might have thought their cultivation had been completely stripped away.

More importantly, they could even feel their souls trembling. This was suppression at the level of the soul itself, and couldn’t be avoided.

”This won’t do. We have to get out.”

Even Yu Heng of the Eternal Race felt an immense sense of threat, his face suffused with apparent alarm. After all, he had already been injured in the earlier battle, and his strength was no longer at its peak.

If danger truly descended, Yu Heng feared that he would not have the slightest ability to retaliate. So the only thought left in his mind now was escape.

Lei Xiao was thinking very much the same.

Everyone had originally come here for that opportunity, but that blood-red coffin looked far too ominous now, and the danger hidden within it was unknown.

The only problem was that the sole entrance had already closed. There was no way out at all.

Szzzzz~

That strange sound rang out again.

In the distance, upon the high platform, the blood-red coffin had already opened halfway, and endless blood-red mist was surging out of it non-stop.

The mist was anything but ordinary. It could obscure vision and even obstruct spiritual perception.

Even Sages could not overpower its effects.

Lu Yuan also refrained from making any rash moves.

He channeled his vital qi and activated the Great Sun’s Furnace to protect himself; he, too, discovered the strange properties of the blood-red mist.

Another thing he had noticed was that this mist itself seemed to be the source of that strange aura.

It did not belong to this world at all.

For that reason alone, Lu Yuan temporarily set aside the matter of taking Lei Xiao and Yu Heng’s lives. In any case, there was nowhere for them to run.

At this point, he was more concerned about what exactly lay inside that blood-red coffin.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—

Very soon, more and more blood-red mist poured out until it covered the entire area.

At the same time, everyone also realized that the blood-red coffin had opened completely.

A shadow shot out from within it in an instant, but then vanished again.

Just as they wanted to go forward to see what was going on, they suddenly discovered that everything before them seemed to have disappeared. Their eyes could not see anything more than ten meters away.

”What in the world is going on? Wasn’t this supposed to be a blessed land?”

”No! I want to get out! Let me out!”

”AHHHHH!”

At once, panic spread among some of them.

They were all basically Sage Realm existences, yet now their voices were laced with unmistakable terror.

Worse still, eventually, someone let out a scream, and a thick scent of blood spread through the air.

Someone had been killed.

And judging by the sound of it, they had encountered something horrifying before they died.

That only amplified the panic of everyone present.

”Everyone, gather together. Stand as one and let’s see what kind of monster is inside that coffin.” Very soon, Lei Xiao’s voice rang out, proposing that everyone group together.

He had sensed tremendous danger as well and knew that if they remained scattered, everyone would die.

They might as well gather together; perhaps that way they would still have a thread of survival.

There was no helping it.

Even though Lei Xiao had already prepared himself for death when facing Lu Yuan before, he did not want to die in such a baffling, meaningless way.

And especially not under the current circumstances which had also stirred fear in his heart.

When the others heard Lei Xiao’s suggestion, they were just about to move toward him, when a strange howl rang out.

Roar!

Crackle! Rumble!

The roar was immediately followed by a burst of thunderous sounds, only for them to vanish again just as quickly.

As for Lei Xiao of the Celestials, he never spoke another word.

Silence blanketed the space.

”Lei Xiao... is dead?” someone asked in terror, unable to stop themselves from guessing.

”What exactly is that thing? This isn’t any Immortal’s Cave at all. It’s clearly a Devil’s Cave!”

”I don’t care what you are. If you have the guts, then come out and fight me directly. I’m not afraid!”

Everyone had fallen into complete panic, shouting one after another.

Yet the dense blood-red mist not only blocked their vision, it also sealed off their spiritual perception.

All they could hear was each other’s voices. Beyond that, they knew nothing at all.

”I don’t care what kind of monster you are. Before my Eternal Race, you are nothing!” Yu Heng also shouted, circulating the power in his body and bombarding the area in every direction.

But clearly, this approach of his was of little use.

Meanwhile, Lu Yuan opened his Martial Dao Heavenly Eyes and swept his gaze across every corner of the area.

Yet because of that strange blood-red mist, the amount he could actually see remained very limited.

Everything before him was still dim and hazy. Even the distant high platform could not be seen clearly.

But very soon, a blood-red shadow appeared within his sight.

Found you.

Lu Yuan was startled for just a moment as he followed that shadow with his gaze.

He saw that the blood-red figure was moving at astonishing speed.

In a very short time, it drew close to Yu Heng of the Eternal Race.

Then, without the slightest unnecessary movement, it launched a direct attack.

Roar!

Another strange howl rang out, and both parties clashed instantly.

Unfortunately, Yu Heng no longer possessed his peak strength. On top of that, he was already injured. He was simply no match for that shadow.

In less than a few breaths, Yu Heng had already been suppressed.

Then the blood-red figure suddenly opened its jaws and bit directly into Yu Heng’s shoulder.

Pfft.

Blood gushed out at once.

Yu Heng screamed hysterically, but he no longer had the slightest ability to resist.

In the blink of an eye, half of his body had been devoured. His life vitals also began dissipating.

Just then, as the blood-red monster was about to continue feasting on Yu Heng’s body, it seemed to realize that it had been discovered.

It turned its head abruptly and stared straight at Lu Yuan in the distance.

Its entire aura trembling, as though it had found some delicious prey.

Without the slightest hesitation, it charged straight toward him.

I didn’t go for you, so you decided to come to me instead?

Lu Yuan remained entirely calm.

He took a step forward, and the aura around his whole body burst outward. Golden vital qi surged through him, shining alongside the Great Sun’s Furnace.

The blood-red monster also closed the distance.

Rumble!

Lu Yuan likewise did not hesitate in the slightest. Thunder boomed around him as lightning surfaced.

Boom!

In the next instant, the two of them collided directly.

A powerful aura erupted at once, sweeping violently in every direction.

In the very instant of contact, Lu Yuan felt a chill deep down in his soul.

However, his combat strength was ultimately terrifying. In that exchange just now, he had not suffered the slightest disadvantage.

By contrast, the blood-red figure before him was forced back again and again.

At the same time, the surrounding blood-red mist also began to dissipate.

And at this moment, Lu Yuan finally saw the true face of that blood-red figure.
