Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 304. The Growth of the Younger Generation, the Immortal’s Cave, the Question of Who to Send

In truth, even before the disturbance at Yellow Mountain, many places had already begun undergoing changes. Among them, the changes within the famous mountains and great rivers were the most intense.

It was just that, because everything was still in its early stages, many people had yet to notice. But now, Yellow Mountain had clearly emerged ahead of the rest.

The scene at Yellow Mountain was shocking beyond words.

In the deepest part of the mountain range, a cave abode slowly emerged, shooting out tens of thousands of rays of different colors, while from within came an indescribably powerful aura.

In a very short time, it drew the attention of every kind of being, including those from the Outer Cosmos. All of them believed that there was likely a tremendous fortune within, and all wanted to contend for it.

At the same time, the event was already spreading wildly across the internet, causing an enormous stir. Everyone was paying attention to the matter.

Many people wanted to go and see it for themselves, to find out whether the place truly held the great boon spoken of in legend.

But there were those who felt differently. Now that even the Outer Cosmos beings were paying attention to it, then even if there was really a great boon within, it would have nothing to do with them.

Since the path of evolution first opened, a fair amount of time had already passed. Some people had advanced tremendously and grown very powerful. But some were still stuck at the Foundation Realm.

For such people, simply surviving in this age was already no easy feat. They had neither the means nor the mind to think about anything else.

Although many things had changed between the old era and the new, one thing had not changed much at all—the strong preyed upon the weak. Only the method of predation changed.

As for the boon or sort, it belonged to those who possessed both ambition and strength.

Meanwhile, at the Mount Tai Trials Academy, Lu Yuan also received word of the changes deep within Yellow Mountain at the first possible moment.

Zhu Qingyu and the others also brought out some of the videos and materials they had gathered. After analyzing them, everyone came to the same conclusion that a folded space had indeed appeared within it.

Or to be precise, it was one of those mythical secret realms because ordinary folded spaces contained nothing at all. But the one within Yellow Mountain was clearly not like that.

Judging from the footage, it was definitely anything but ordinary.

”Folded spaces have already been discovered in many places across the land; many of them are extraordinary but they have not manifested fully yet. The one in Yellow Mountain is the first of its kind. No matter what’s inside, I think it’s necessary for us to go and take a look,” Zhu Qingyu commented. Her tone was grave and her thinking was exceptionally clear.

After joining the Celestial Court, she had become one of the commanders of a major division. Her strength, temperament, and every other aspect of her bearing had all grown.

In truth, Ice Fairy, Chunyang, and the others were the same. Back then during the incident with the Three Immortals Island, their age and lack of experience had them nearly causing a catastrophe.

But from then till now, this younger generation of people had all continued to grow. In every regard, they had become outstanding, and already possessed the bearing of leaders.

Ice Fairy nodded in agreement. ”Qingyu is right. With the Global Awakening underway, we must grasp as much information as possible in order to understand what lies ahead. Only then will we avoid always trailing behind others.”

Her meaning was very simple. They needed to know enough, just like they did during the First Awakening. If they could grasp the relevant information, then it meant they could seize the initiative afterward.

Through the changes at Yellow Mountain this time, they could infer what might happen later at the other famed mountains and great rivers.

”You’ve all spoken very well.”

Lu Yuan’s eyes twinkled with a hint of joy upon hearing everyone’s remarks. He was genuinely pleased as it meant that some things truly no longer needed to be handled by him personally.

The fact that Zhu Qingyu and the others could already perceive so much meant that many matters in the future could be entrusted to them.

”In that case, once preparations are complete, we’ll head directly to Yellow Mountain. Whatever thoughts you have, speak them all freely,” Lu Yuan spoke.

His thinking was also very simple; this was a perfect chance to test the strength of the Celestial Court.

”Before going, we should also get a rough understanding of what that suddenly appeared folded space actually is.” Chunyang thought for a moment, then continued, ”Yellow Mountain has many mythical stories tied to it. This mythical secret realm must also leave some trace to follow.”

”Amitabha.” Monk Huikong intoned a Buddhist invocation, then continued, ”In my view, it should be connected to Immortal Guang Chengzi.”

That statement made several people at the side exchange glances, somewhat unsure what he meant.

Lu Yuan, however, nodded at this.

Mount Kongtong was not Immortal Guang Chengzi’s sole Dao ground. According to legend, Yellow Mountain contained the Immortal’s Cave. And that cave was the actual place where Guang Chengzi attained the Dao.

Though this was only part of mythological lore, the fact that Chunyang and Huikong could make that judgment showed that they had clearly consulted a great deal of information.

Sure enough, after saying these things, the two of them began forming certain plans. For example, everyone going to Yellow Mountain this time had to be someone who had cultivated a Daoist visualization method. They also needed to consult further materials related to the legends of Immortal Guang Chengzi.

Even if doing so might not be of great practical use, it would still be better than nothing. After all, no one knew what exactly might happen inside.

As for the arrangements, Lu Yuan directly chose to agree, telling them that this operation could be led primarily by them.

When Zhu Qingyu and the others heard this, they were all startled at first. Then they realized that this was the true meaning of tempering themselves through experience. At once, each of them nodded solemnly and accepted.

The departure time was set for three days later. After everything had been discussed, the group dispersed.

Lu Yuan also returned to his room. However, he did not immediately begin cultivating.

Instead, he started recalling what little he knew about Yellow Mountain from his previous life. Unfortunately, he had been far too weak back then, barely struggling at the edge of life and death.

There had been very little information available to him. He could only vaguely remember that after the Third Awakening, Yellow Mountain had indeed displayed anomalies. In the end, something truly extraordinary had appeared there.

So no matter what, he had to go this time. But unlike before, this time would be very different.

The beings from the Outer Cosmos would definitely not let this opportunity slip by. Opponents that they would meet there would certainly not be ordinary figures.

Lu Yuan could ignore many things. But if prodigies appeared, or even those Rankers that ranked top ten in their clans, then he had no choice but to take the matter seriously.

Though he feared nothing, once they entered the mythical secret realm within Yellow Mountain, some things would become very difficult to control.

If only I had a helper, this would be much easier. Lu Yuan pondered with his brows tightly knitted together.

Yet such a helper would be extremely difficult to find. They had to be strong enough. Otherwise, how could they contend against those beings from the Outer Cosmos?

The problem was that there simply was no such person around him. Earth’s Awakening had started not too long ago [1], so no one had fully grown to have such strength.

He couldn’t go trouble Jiang Ningxian, could he? She had recently been entering seclusion every few days. That likely would not work.

Right at that moment, a powerful aura suddenly manifested outside.

Boom!

At the same time, a young figure appeared in the courtyard and called out toward Lu Yuan’s room, ”Lu Yuan, come. Let’s spar again.”

Inside the room, Lu Yuan’s eyes lit up.

”Found him!”
