Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1333: Chapter 1333: News Spreads Throughout Jiangyuan County

Shu Yu and her group stood inside the manor, facing a courtyard that seemed somewhat desolate due to months of neglect.

Grass had grown quite tall in the yard, and a thin layer of dust covered the windowsills.

“Almost everything has been moved out. When Steward Guo left, he even took some very large items. Aside from the stone tables and benches they couldn’t take, the inside is empty, leaving nothing that could serve as a clue.”

Walking inside, Shu Yu said to Qi Lie, “They are very cautious, and with so many secrets on the black market, they would certainly destroy everything before leaving. Yun and I have been here twice but found nothing.”

She first took Qi Lie to the two secret rooms, “Here are the secret rooms. Lord, would you like to take a look inside?”

Qi Lie nodded, and Shu Yu pressed the switch.

As the door opened, Qi Lie’s two subordinates entered first while Shu Yu stood at the entrance, unmoved, “Lord, you can check here. Since we’re here, I’d like to have another look around.”

“Alright, let’s split up and search.”

Shu Yu nodded and turned back to the courtyard.

She went to the auction house, which was the main trading spot, thinking that if there were any clues, this would be a likely place.

However, just like before, she and Ying Xi thoroughly searched and still found nothing.

No scratches on the walls, no items left behind in the corners.

“Let’s go,” Shu Yu sighed and led Ying Xi out.

Qi Lie had already examined the secret rooms and was outside continuing the search.

Seeing Shu Yu come out, he furrowed his brows and shook his head slightly.

“If Monarch Lu Xiang has matters to attend to, go ahead. This manor is too big to search thoroughly in a short time, we might have to stay here overnight.”

Shu Yu was not surprised, “Alright, then take your time, Lord. I’ll return to the workshop to instruct them to organize the sunflower oil. We’ll rest at the manor tonight, and if you need anything, just come to find me there. I’ll have Ying Xi deliver meals to you later.”

“Thank you.”

Shu Yu left, and Qi Lie’s group continued searching.

Unfortunately, just as Shu Yu said, Steward Guo was thorough. Since he decided to sell the manor, he wouldn’t have left anything behind for others to find.

Qi Lie searched for a day and again the next day, finally leaving the mountain with a troubled expression.

Seeing his expression, Shu Yu knew there was no progress. She poured them tea and asked, “Lord, do you plan to continue the search?”

Qi Lie shook his head, “No, we were only clinging to a sliver of hope. With no clues in Jiangyuan County, we’ll have to look into other black markets.”

He took a sip of tea, looked up, and said, “If Monarch Lu Xiang finds anything, please inform us promptly.”

“Alright.”

Qi Lie gave Shu Yu a special contact channel since Xiang Weinan was soon returning to the Capital, and they could no longer contact there through him.

Qi Lie was about to leave, so he returned to the county office to bid farewell to Xiang Weinan as he prepared to depart.

Xiang Weinan couldn’t leave yet since the new county magistrate was still on the way. He had to wait for him to arrive and complete the handover before leaving.

Shu Yu loaded the ten barrels of sunflower oil onto a cart, which Qi Lie took with him.

Just as he left the city gates, word spread throughout Jiangyuan County that Lu’s Workshop’s sunflower oil became a supplier of cooking oil for the palace.

The public only now knew that Monarch Lu Xiang had managed to expand business directly into the palace.

Those who were on the fence rushed to the Lu family gates, and the gatekeeper couldn’t keep up with receiving all the visiting cards.
