Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1311: Chapter 1311: The Old Lady Vindicated

When the carriage stopped at the Lu family’s doorstep, Shu Yu jumped out first and went straight through the gate.

Zhao Xi supported Shuyou as they slowly walked behind, and by the time they rounded the screen wall, the old lady had already heard the news from Shu Yu and came forward excitedly to greet them.

“Oh my, Ah You is back, walk slowly, take your time, there’s no rush.”

The old lady beamed, supporting Shuyou’s other hand, intently watching her belly.

Originally, Shuyou wasn’t nervous, but with the two people around her acting like this, she suddenly became conscious and then felt a surge of acid, running to the side to vomit terribly.

Shu Yu couldn’t stand it, “The way you two are acting is putting a lot of pressure on my sister. Relax, eat what you should, drink what you should, don’t be too restrained. The child is quite strong, just don’t run or jump.”

Everyone, “…”

It seemed reasonable yet not quite right, a young unmarried girl like her seemed to know more than them.

But seeing Shuyou in such discomfort, the old lady and Zhao Xi indeed didn’t dare to say much more.

Once Shuyou felt better, Zhao Xi helped her back to their room to rest.

Watching the couple’s backs, the old lady let out a breath and said fiercely, “Ah You is pregnant, let’s see what those troublemakers say now.”

Shuyou’s previous marriage was bad, and after two years without a pregnancy, the people of Dayan Village practically branded her as a jinx behind her back.

Later, when Zhang Shu’s scandal was exposed, everyone realized Shuyou hadn’t experienced such matters.

Yet there were always some gossiping old ladies who didn’t believe it, murmuring behind the scenes, saying that even though Zhang Shu was known to like men, who said he couldn’t touch women? Maybe she just couldn’t conceive.

The Lu family had gone to the southwest exile area, and in their absence, Old Lady Zhang spread rumors everywhere, saying Shuyou was actually Zhang Shu’s woman. Anyway, with Zhang Shu blind and mute, Old Lady Zhang didn’t mind dragging another person down, slinging mud on Shuyou.

Unfortunately, before the Lu family returned to Jiangyuan County, Old Lady Zhang had already been killed by Zhang Shu.

Otherwise, the old lady would definitely have gone to confront her.

But even though Old Lady Zhang was dead, the words she spread still lingered. Though due to the Lu family’s current wealth and power, people didn’t dare to speak openly, they continued to doubt Shuyou’s ability to conceive behind the scenes.

Shu Yu and Shuyou both advised the old lady not to take it to heart, but as much as they said it, how could she really not care?

Now that her granddaughter was pregnant, she wanted to see what those people could say.

The old lady was so pleased she could barely contain herself, and she turned to Shu Yu, saying, “I’ll go to Shangshi Village tomorrow.”

After speaking, she paused, “No, I’ll wait until Ah You is stable after three months.”

The old lady still somewhat believed in these things, that it’s not advisable to tell others before the three-month mark.

“I’ll go check the kitchen and make something good for Ah You. After vomiting like that, she must be hungry.”

She said this and left, without needing Shu Yu to give any response.

Shu Yu stood there like a tool, sighed, and turned to see Zhao Xi approaching.

But he had a furrowed brow and a worried expression, making Shu Yu’s heart skip a beat, “What happened to my sister?”

“Oh, she’s asleep.”

“Then why the worried look?”

Zhao Xi sighed, “Watching her suffer from vomiting made me feel uncomfortable too. I need to get my master back, he knows how to make medicinal meals.”
