Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1323: Chapter 1323: Madam Li Muttering

Now that Zhou Qiao is about to give birth, Shu Yu, being a woman, understands that women in labor still long for their family to be by their side.

Even if this father and sister don’t understand these things and aren’t talkative, they are still the closest people.

Father Zhou and Second Sister Zhou are now standing there anxiously, even after Shu Yu asked them to sit down several times, they refused.

They were like this, and Daniu was even worse, with his forehead covered in sweat, pacing back and forth incessantly outside the room.

Madam Li felt irritated upon seeing this, “Can you stop for a while? What are you nervous about? Women giving birth is just like this, your wife has only been inside for two hours, some take a whole day and night and still might not give birth.”

As soon as she said this, Daniu’s face turned even paler, “A day and a night?”

Wouldn’t that be agonizing?

The old lady shot Madam Li a glare, “Do you even know how to speak? If not, just shut up.”

She said to Daniu, “Don’t be nervous, Zhao Xi has been checking Qiaoqiao regularly, she’s doing well, plus Qiaoqiao has a wide pelvis, making childbirth easier for her. Besides, Zhao Xi is here, what are you worried about?”

The old lady’s words indeed had an effect, her logical reasoning calmed Daniu down quite a bit.

But soon he asked anxiously again, “But Qiaoqiao was supposed to give birth in several more days, there’s no problem with this early delivery, is there?”

Everyone turned their heads to look at Zhao Xi, who said, “It’s fine, early delivery is very normal, there’s no need to worry.”

Zhao Xi was also outside the room, inside there were the midwife and the house servants assisting with the delivery.

Originally, Madam Li also wanted to go in, but the old lady, fearing her temperament would cause chaos and add pressure on Zhou Qiao, didn’t allow her. After all, there were already plenty of people inside the room.

Daniu rubbed his forehead and finally stopped pacing, but still wouldn’t sit down.

Everyone hadn’t even eaten lunch, Shu Yu, worried they might not be able to hold up, asked someone to make chicken porridge and brought it over, urging everyone to eat a bit.

Father Zhou and Second Sister Zhou thanked quietly, and it was only at this point that they realized it was getting late and their stomachs were a bit hungry.

Shu Yu was most worried about the old lady, so she carried a bowl of porridge over, “Grandmother, have a little to eat. Didn’t you say so yourself? Zhao Xi is here.”

The old lady didn’t want to worry either, “After all, this is the Lu family’s first great-grandchild.” Saying she wasn’t worried would be a lie.

Shu Yu didn’t try to persuade further, only stayed with the old lady and had porridge with her.

After drinking, the old lady felt more at ease and asked, “Shuyou and the others have eaten, right?”

“Don’t worry, they have.”

Because Shuyou was pregnant, she wasn’t allowed to stay here at this time.

Firstly, worrying about her getting tired, and secondly, fearing the sounds of Zhou Qiao in labor might scare her, burdening her with unnecessary anxiety.

So, she was sent to the front hall to practice writing with Little Song Le. Little Song Le would turn three after the new year. Though still quite young, Meng Yunzheng was already consciously teaching him to read and write.

The child was quite well-behaved, setting some time aside each day to write and draw, though currently couldn’t even hold a pen steady, his spirit was commendable.

Because of this, Quanquan, who often played with him, also followed suit, mimicking writing.

Today, Little Song Le didn’t go to play with Quanquan, perhaps already sensing that something important was going to happen at home, he stayed quietly in the study by the front yard.

After the old lady finished her porridge, she felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her. Shu Yu wasn’t sure how much longer it would take and couldn’t just let her wait indefinitely, so she planned to help her back to rest for a while.

The old lady thought for a moment and agreed, but as they reached Madam Li’s side, they heard her muttering.
