Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1308: Chapter 1308: Is Monarch Lu Xiang a Simple Person?

Upon arriving at Shangshi Village, Ren Huai used a similar excuse to inquire about Shu Yu’s situation.

Unlike in Ruan Family Village, the villagers of Shangshi Village naturally spoke highly of Shu Yu.

Not to mention anything else, even the roads in this village were much better than those in Ruan Family Village.

Although Shu Yu did not often appear in Shangshi Village, she had indeed brought benefits to the village.

But, you see, when she recruited workers, she did not prioritize her own village, especially recently. It was heard that she even promoted a villager from Ruan Family Village to be a steward, and the people of Shangshi Village didn’t gain any advantage.

This left some people feeling somewhat sour.

But that was all; they certainly wouldn’t say these things in front of outsiders.

After all, if they spoke recklessly, Shangshi Village might not get even such opportunities in the future when Monarch Lu Xiang’s workshop expands and hires more workers.

Therefore, when Ren Huai and others discussed Shu Yu, the villagers of Shangshi Village kept praising her.

Half of Shu Yu’s workshop workers were from other villages because of her fair and just practices. But Lu Erbai was different; half of his construction team was made up of people from Shangshi Village.

So they said that the Lu family father and daughter were good to the villagers, giving them priority in recruitment.

They were grateful and would give back to their hometown.

Last year, thanks to them, the villagers of Shangshi Village had a great festive season, and their lives became prosperous.

Ren Huai stayed there for a while and hardly heard anyone speaking ill of the Lu family.

After leaving Shangshi Village, Ren Huai couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

Steward Xu said, “The evaluations of Monarch Lu Xiang from these two villages are simply two extremes.”

“What does this indicate?”

Steward Xu thought for a moment, “It indicates that Monarch Lu Xiang is quite emotional. To those who are good to her, she repays tenfold; to those who are not, she retaliates without a second thought. Young Master Biao, such a person has simple ideas, lacks consideration for the broader picture and reputation, and is destined not to succeed in big business.”

Ren Huai smiled, leaning against the carriage. He actually disagreed with Shu Yu promoting her relatives into her business.

She let her cousin become the chief steward of the workshop, which was really unwise.

A person raised in the countryside, without any experience, taking on such a responsibility—Lu’s Workshop’s future outcome is foreseeable.

Seeing that he was silent, Steward Xu added, “Young Master Biao, what should we do next? Monarch Lu Xiang’s temperament is really not suitable for cooperation.”

Ren Huai straightened up, “Who says? The simpler a person is, the more advantageous it is for us. The more and bigger benefits we can gain from our cooperation; this business is worth doing.”

“Young Master Biao plans to…” He thought for a moment and lowered his voice, “But Young Master Biao, don’t forget that Monarch Lu Xiang has a fiancé, Meng Yunzheng, who stirred up the capital last year. This person endured humiliation for more than a decade to overthrow his adoptive father; he is not a simple person. With him around, it won’t be easy to take advantage from Monarch Lu Xiang.”

Actually, during these days they inquired for news, everything was fine except for the shocking news that Monarch Lu Xiang was engaged to Meng Yunzheng.

At that time, after knowing, they both suspected if it was someone with the same name.

In Steward Xu’s view, Monarch Lu Xiang was indeed lucky, having a high-ranking and influential person like Lord Qi to back her and a calculating person like Meng Yunzheng to strategize for her.

Steward Xu shook his head, “Probably all the sufferings she endured in her early years are now being compensated.”
