Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 945: Chapter 945: There Is a Condition

Third Lu felt that Shu Yu’s gaze just now conveyed affirmation, and instantly, his spirits soared even higher.

“This land of yours definitely isn’t top-grade, right? Eight taels per acre would already be more than enough.” Although he hadn’t followed them earlier to inspect closely, bargaining is all about finding reasons wherever possible.

“And then there’s this manor. Sure, it looks quite new and well-built, but isn’t its land area only about three or four acres? In our village, whose house with a courtyard doesn’t span three or four acres?”

Shu Yu: “…” Third Uncle, isn’t that exaggerating a bit?

The more Third Lu talked, the more animated he got. “Of course, the main issue is that this house is built here, neither connected to a village in front nor a shop behind. Even properties in the best locations of the county town are only worth a few hundred taels, and you can’t just assume we’re inexperienced bumpkins and throw out a random pricing.”

Shu Yu saw him rambling on and even giving her a knowing look after finishing. She almost burst into laughter.

But she held back, keeping a straight face and nodding slightly. “Young Master Jiang, what my Third Uncle said reflects my opinion. Eighteen hundred taels is indeed too expensive.”

Young Master Jiang furrowed his brow tightly. In truth, Third Lu wasn’t wrong. The soil quality of this plot was poor, and eight taels per acre was already high.

But he had invested several years of effort here, suffered losses in crop yields, and wanted to recoup those losses.

Otherwise, wasting these four or five years of effort would leave him bitterly unwilling.

He clenched his teeth and asked, “Then how much are you guys willing to offer?” After a pause, he added, “Actually, if I sell this manor to you, its furniture would be included as well. There are some quality materials here. You really wouldn’t be losing out.”

A wave of excitement rose in Third Lu’s heart, and he almost blurted out a response.

Shu Yu, however, had already extended her hand. “Fourteen hundred taels. That’s all I can afford.”

Third Lu silently closed his mouth. A four-hundred-tael cut? There’s no way he’ll agree to that.

Sure enough, Young Master Jiang shook his head. “Far too little.” At this rate, the manor would only be worth six hundred taels?

Shu Yu sighed. “I’m sorry, Young Master Jiang. My funds are limited. That’s my ceiling. If you truly can’t accept it, then we’ll have to look elsewhere. I do like this manor, but as it stands, it seems fate is not on our side after all.”

She cupped her hands toward Young Master Jiang and said, “Forgive the disturbance, we’ll take our leave.”

After saying that, she turned and walked away with the others.

Third Lu was notoriously impatient. Just as they were about to reach the door, he couldn’t help but quietly ask, “Yu, are we really leaving? If money’s really the issue, this two hundred taels…”

Daniu quickly chimed in, “Third Uncle, follow Yu’s lead.”

Third Lu rolled his eyes at him.

Just as the group reached the door, Young Master Jiang’s voice finally came from behind. “Lady Lu, please wait.”

Shu Yu and Daniu shared a smile, while Third Lu pursed his lips. Sure enough, this seemingly inexperienced Young Master Jiang was no match for Yu.

Shu Yu turned back, smiling faintly. “Young Master Jiang, is there something else?”

Young Master Jiang clenched his teeth. “The price can still be negotiated.”

Shu Yu sighed. “My budget is indeed tight. Fourteen hundred taels is my maximum.”

Young Master Jiang was silent for a long time. Finally, he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and said, “Fourteen hundred it is. But I have one condition.”

A condition? Bargaining is one thing, but how can there be conditions?

“Go ahead and say it. If it’s something I can’t manage, there’s not much I can do.”
