Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 933: Chapter 933: Lu Erbai’s Friend

Shu Yu was momentarily stunned. Who was this person? She turned back to look at her Eldest Uncle, who had escorted them out of the village.

Lu Dasong whispered, “This is one of the Uncles in the village as well. You should call him Uncle Liang.”

Shu Yu readily agreed and nodded slightly, “Uncle Liang, do you need me for something?”

Liang Wangsheng approached with an awkward demeanor, his expression looking extremely unnatural. He seemed to have difficulty speaking and after opening his mouth several times, he finally closed his eyes and said in a low voice, “Monarch Lu Xiang, I’ve heard that you’re hiring people to repair houses. How about me? Could I join the team?”

This…

Shu Yu sized up the man in front of her. He seemed honest and hardworking. Despite the weather, the sleeves on his arms were rolled up halfway, revealing robust forearms which suggested he was used to manual labor.

The only thing was, he seemed rather thin, and his complexion wasn’t great.

Since he had sought her out individually, it was certain that he wasn’t on her father’s list.

With this in mind, Shu Yu didn’t want to create any trouble, and was about to politely decline, stating they had enough hands, when she heard Lu Dasong, standing beside her, whisper, “Yu, he is quite suitable. Why not let him try?”

Shu Yu looked at Lu Dasong in surprise, and the latter nodded slightly to her.

Even though she didn’t know why this person wasn’t on her father’s list, Eldest Uncle was not one to interfere with her decisions without a reason. If he spoke like this, there must be a reason.

Shu Yu then nodded, “Alright, Uncle Liang, come with the other Uncles from the village tomorrow to try out. If you do a good job, you can stay.”

She did not make it sound too definitive, merely a trial.

Liang Wangsheng’s eyes brightened, and his face flushed with excitement. He kept saying, “Thank you, thank you, Monarch Lu Xiang.”

Shu Yu smiled and said, “Uncle Liang, no need to be so polite. Go back and get ready.”

“Then, I’ll head back now.”

Liang Wangsheng nodded to Lu Dasong once more, then turned and ran off quickly.

After the man had gone, Shu Yu curiously asked Lu Dasong, “Eldest Uncle, why did you say he was quite suitable?”

As they continued walking, Lu Dasong explained, “Wangsheng, my dear brother, actually had a good relationship with your father. Your father used to be a carpenter, and after learning the trade from his master, whose master moved to the prefecture, your dad came back to Shangshi Village to take on jobs himself. Among us three brothers, your dad was the one who made something of himself. He was diligent, honest, did good work, so naturally, he received a lot of jobs.”

“With the increase in jobs, he couldn’t handle it all by himself, and he originally wanted Third Uncle to lend a hand. You know what Third Uncle is like; he couldn’t stand the day-in, day-out hustle and bustle, so he quit after half a day.”

As for Lu Dasong himself, although he was older, his hands weren’t very agile. It was okay for him to tend to the fields, but carpentry work was a challenge for him.

So Lu Erbai had to find someone new, and that person was Liang Wangsheng.

Liang Wangsheng was about the same age as Lu Erbai, hardworking and willing to endure hardships.

“He worked with your dad for three years, and the two shared a tacit understanding and cooperated very well. Often, they would finish the job before the boss’s deadline. During that time, both families lived rather well, until…”

Lu Dasong glanced at Shu Yu.

She understood, “Until I went missing?”

“Yes, once you went missing, your dad was everywhere looking for you, how could he have the energy for other things? Wangsheng couldn’t match the skills your dad had learned as an apprentice since his youth. Without your father’s guidance, the amount of work greatly diminished.”
