Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 921: Chapter 921: Changing Names

Shu Yu swallowed hard, feeling that Meng Yunzheng was probably retaliating against Zhao Xi.

Seeing that Zhao Xi was about to settle the accounts, she quickly pulled him back, “Well, actually, under normal circumstances, this assumption is not wrong, but doesn’t my sister have a special case? We can’t generalize.”

“Really?” Zhao Xi turned his head, his expression still twisted.

Shu Yu nodded, “Really.”

Meng Yunzheng completely ignored Zhao Xi’s expression, as if wanting to rush over and bite him, and turned to Shu Yu and said, “I have something I want to discuss with you. Yesterday, I took Dahu to see Master Wen and talked about Dahu’s progress in his studies. Speaking of Dahu’s name, shouldn’t we consider changing it now that he hasn’t yet participated in the county examination? Perhaps we use Dahu as a childhood nickname?”

The name Dahu is too common, not to mention in Jiangyuan County, just in Shangshi Village alone, there are two.

Fortunately, those people do not share the surname Lu. Otherwise, if Dahu really goes on to take the exams and achieve success, the officers who come to the village to deliver the good news might easily make a mistake and cause trouble.

After pondering for a moment, Shu Yu also found the idea feasible.

“That being so, I’ll ask around and discuss it with my family.” After all, changing one’s name is a big deal.

Sanya, hearing this, looked up and said, “Me too, I want to change mine. I want a name similar to my second sister’s; her name sounds nice.”

Shu Yu rubbed her head, “Okay, shall we discuss yours at home too?”

Sanya immediately became excited, “Then let’s go home now.”

She took Shu Yu by the hand and left, planning to come back after changing her name.

Shu Yu could only wave to Meng Yunzheng and was led home by the little girl.

At this time, apart from Madam Ruan who had gone to the sewing room and Dahu who had gone to school, the other family members were still at home.

Daya was waiting for her news, and upon seeing that Shu Yu had not returned with the box, she knew Zhao Xi had taken it back and let out a sigh of relief.

Lu Erbai had risen a bit late, having just finished his breakfast and was getting ready to set out for Shangshi Village to recruit laborers.

The day before, he had talked with Yuan Shanchuan, and the latter actually introduced him to someone, asking that person to recruit about ten reliable short-term workers for him.

Because of this, Lu Erbai had dinner with them and also drank some alcohol. Perhaps too delighted, he drank a bit too much, and it was very late by the time he got back, so naturally, he slept in this morning.

It was just right that the family had hired servants, and Lu Erbai was brought home by Ying Dong.

Upon seeing Shu Yu, Lu Erbai suddenly remembered something, and his footsteps halted as he was about to leave, “Yu, there’s something I want to ask you.”

“What is it?”

“It’s about your Third Uncle, he’s thinking of buying a house in the county town.”

“Buying a house??” Before Shu Yu could speak, the old lady couldn’t help but exclaim, “With just that little money he has, he still thinks of buying a house in the county town? Is he out of his mind? Wait a minute…”

The old lady suddenly furrowed her brows, “Did he talk to you about buying a house in private? Could it be he wants to borrow money from you?”

Lu Erbai felt helpless, indeed, a mother knows her child best; she had hit the nail on the head.

Yesterday, when Lu Erbai went to see Yuan Shanchuan, Lu Sanzhu, who lived in the same alley, naturally knew about it. When no one was paying attention, he asked to borrow money from Lu Erbai, and he asked for as much as two hundred taels to buy a house.

Although Lu Erbai indeed had some money saved up, he couldn’t afford to lend that much money to anyone.

He tactfully explained his difficulties, but then that guy mentioned Yu.

Lu Erbai understood right away, Sanzhu wasn’t really asking him for money, what was this… right, it’s like casting a brick to attract jade, clearly, he wanted him to ask Yu for money.
