She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

[They were still discussing when they suddenly noticed the host went silent. They called you a few times but couldn’t wake you, guessing something might have gone wrong with you.]997 answered.

[Then the dorm should be relatively quiet tonight.]Ah Chen said, [You can go play.]

There are only eight monsters in total, so under normal circumstances, it’s impossible for two monsters to visit one dormitory.

In the dorm, Ma Qin and Bai Qiaoqian both looked at Ah Chen’s bed with some concern. They didn’t care much about the others in the dorm, but they didn’t want Li Chen to be eaten by the monster. As long as the three of them stick together, it’s not easy to be marked by a monster during the day. Besides, if even someone as formidable as Li Chen gets eaten, wouldn’t they stand even less of a chance?

”If she can’t be woken, let her sleep. We’ll find out what happened in the morning.” Li Yao said with a light tone. She also figured that a dorm shouldn’t have two monsters, meaning it was safe tonight.

Thinking about the past events, Li Yao was a bit schadenfreude.

Bai Qiaoqian and Ma Qin were both speechless and quite disliked someone like Li Yao. They had no interest in talking to her, closed their eyes but didn’t fall asleep.

In such an environment, it’s strange if one could sleep well, even if tonight should be relatively safe.

In the middle of the night, the two finally dozed off, having checked on Ah Chen’s bed before sleeping but finding no movement.

In the morning, as soon as the dorm light turned on, the two of them opened their eyes, instinctively looking at Ah Chen’s bed, faintly seeing a person under the covers.

Is everything alright?

The two looked at each other from their opposite beds, reading each other’s thoughts.

”Li Chen.” Bai Qiaoqian tried to call out.

Ah Chen opened her eyes and sat up: ”I’m fine.”

Hearing the familiar voice, Ma Qin and Bai Qiaoqian relaxed.

”You’re okay?” Li Yao’s surprised voice rang out, somewhat incredulous, ”The monster came for you last night, didn’t it? How did you handle it? And ended up being fine.”

She was a bit unhappy but more curious about how Li Chen handled the monster.

The people in the dorm frowned slightly; they didn’t really like Li Yao’s attitude, yet they indeed wanted to know how Li Chen dealt with the monster.

Ah Chen didn’t say anything for a moment, which made Li Yao anxious: ”Aren’t you going to share? We all live in the same dorm, it’s fate, isn’t it? Are you just going to watch us die? That’s too selfish.”

Ma Qin felt that Bai Qiaoqian could be a bit nauseating at times but bearable; however, she couldn’t stand Li Yao at all.

”You’re being too presumptuous.” Ma Qin spoke up, ”Li Chen isn’t obligated to tell you this. Even when asking for help, you need to have the right attitude. What is this?”

”I asked Li Chen, not you, why are you so excited? Oh, right, you and Li Chen know each other, so of course, you can learn what’s going on privately from her. No wonder you’re defending Li Chen, turns out you’re just her maid. In this day and age, still rushing to be someone’s maid?”

Ma Qin’s face turned extremely ugly; she wasn’t very good at arguing.

”It’s early morning, and I can already smell bad breath. Maybe you should brush your teeth.” Bai Qiaoqian remarked sardonically.

Li Yao laughed: ”Really, a lady going out, bringing two maids along.”

”If you don’t need your mouth, it can be sewn shut. Need help?” Ah Chen’s voice sounded. Since Ma Qin and Bai Qiaoqian were standing up for her, she definitely needed to say something.

Just when Li Yao was about to retort, she noticed Ah Chen was already at her bedside. Sitting in the lower bunk, she watched Ah Chen standing there with a needle and thread kit, suddenly feeling a chill running down her spine, and quietly shut her mouth.

She genuinely felt that Li Chen might sew her mouth shut.

But her dissatisfaction lingered, and she added: ”Last night, Zhan Ying mentioned that adventurers shouldn’t deliberately harm others.”

”You provoked me first.” Ah Chen said, ”Besides, I’m not taking your life, just considering sewing up your mouth that can’t speak properly. Shouldn’t be a big problem.”

”Alright, if you don’t want to say, then don’t. No need to threaten people like this.” Li Yao was somewhat annoyed, yet truly didn’t dare to provoke further. Li Chen was able to escape from the monster, meaning she’s capable. It really instilled fear.

Seeing Ah Chen heading back, Li Yao rolled over to get up and freshen up.

She wanted to leave early and call on Zhan Ying and Liao Jingyun, but the two were obviously not in a hurry. From last night, it seemed that Li Chen wasn’t the monster. Bai Qiaoqian and Ma Qin were also acquainted with her, so the three of them weren’t likely monsters either.

Therefore, staying with them would reduce the chance of being marked.

So, Li Yao left the dormitory with a sour face alone.

Clearly, yesterday Zhan Ying and Liao Jingyun were closer to her, but today they didn’t side with her.

She realized these two were evidently trying to find out from Li Chen how to deal with the monsters; their attitudes switched too quickly.

”Do you still remember the hint said that the monsters have a strong sense of competition? Last night I proposed to play the freeze game; whoever moves loses, only the winner can eat me.” Ah Chen spoke at this moment, as it wasn’t some secret information. Sharing with agreeable people isn’t a big deal.

Even if revealed, not everyone could win the challenge against monsters.

The monster last night was rather skilled, but couldn’t hold back from moving at night, thinking Ah Chen couldn’t see with eyes closed and tried to pretend it hadn’t moved.

To its surprise, Ah Chen immediately noticed and said, ”You moved, you lost. Not only can’t you eat me, but you also have to stand guard tonight. You won’t be a sore loser, right?”

The monster indeed had a strong sense of competitiveness, growling angrily, red-eyed, stood guard for her all night.

By morning, she could sense its look of relief, giving her a deep look before swiftly disappearing like something was chasing it.

This monster probably wouldn’t come after her again.

Not sure if it would tell other monsters, but she doubted it; it’s like tearing everyone’s umbrella after getting soaked in the rain.

After knowing the situation from Ah Chen, everyone in the dorm thanked her. Competing against monsters wasn’t easy, but at least it offered them a direction.

All of them first thought about tools, for instance, if they could buy a freeze tool for the game, surely they’d win against a monster.

But they also needed to prepare for the possibility that the freeze game might not be usable continuously, so they had to think of other games.

Whatever they thought, Ah Chen didn’t care, getting through relies on one’s own ability.

After breakfast, arriving in class, Ah Chen noticed many eyes were on her. Seeing Li Yao’s gaze, she realized that Li Yao had told others about her encounter with the monster last night, and how she was unharmed.

”Currently, it’s known that four classmates vanished from their beds, suspected of being eaten—two girls and two boys. This means four successfully survived last night,” Liu Mingming spoke, his gaze falling on Ah Chen, ”Li Chen, I heard you encountered a monster?”

”Yes.” Ah Chen responded, without revealing more.

She saw Li Yao smirking, attempting to use others to make her reveal how she handled the monster last night?

But Liu Mingming didn’t ask further.

He wasn’t foolish; asking Li Chen now would offend her, wouldn’t it?

Better to ask in private, maybe offer some tools or coins, at least show an attitude.

However, some didn’t get it and directly asked Ah Chen despite their unfriendly tone, but Ah Chen couldn’t be bothered with them.

One of the adventurers who managed to survive wasn’t hiding his situation: ”I used a tool to evade.” Encountering a monster is something basically impossible to conceal.

”Then tonight there’ll be twelve people targeted by the monsters.” Li Yao said with some discontent, ”After all, four monsters didn’t get any food last night.”

She was trying to shift the focus onto Ah Chen. Smart people wouldn’t choose to clash with Ah Chen at such a time.

”You talk a lot, maybe the monster likes to eat chatty ones.” Ah Chen chuckled, turning Li Yao’s face pale, ”Want to know how I handled the monster? I’m not telling you; what can you do about it? But for those who want to know, aside from those who were rude just now, can come find me privately.”
