She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

The danger in this scenario lurks at night, with those monsters mingling among the classmates.

If more dangers appear during class, it would be especially unfriendly to the Adventurers.

So, even if you don’t know the answers on the test paper, it’s no big deal; at most, you’ll get scolded or face some minor punishment—not life-threatening.

But since she could sit, Ah Chen still didn’t want to be punished by standing, so she decided to quickly scan through the test paper.

Until the mathematics teacher appeared, the class was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

”Bang—” The mathematics teacher stepped onto the podium and slapped the table with a serious face, ”Some of you did not perform well on this test!”

Ah Chen noticed the mathematics teacher’s gaze seemed to sweep over Ma Qin’s and Bai Qiaoqian’s positions.

It looked like they were in trouble.

Ma Qin pressed her lips together, math, what is it? Can you eat it? Being a monster for many years, how could she still remember?

Bai Qiaoqian’s leg trembled, she glanced around, surrounded by Adventurers, each buried their heads in their stomachs, unfamiliar with each other, and unlike their school days, classmates wouldn’t help her out now.

If she really was picked, it seemed she only had that one trick left, should it work?

”Ma Qin.” The mathematics teacher suddenly called out Ma Qin’s name, and his sharp gaze landed on her, she took a secretive inhale, how terrifying, as if returning to the nightmare of her student days, God knows she feared being called on to answer a question in class the most.

Ma Qin dared not be careless and stood up immediately.

”Your test this time was very unsatisfactory, many errors you shouldn’t have made,” the mathematics teacher said with a stern face, ”You’ve been distracted lately, just stand and listen so you won’t get distracted.”

Ma Qin: Alright.

A number of Adventurers looked at her with sympathetic eyes, knowing they’d have to endure five days here, uncertain what might happen; their expressions weren’t good. From the hints, it was obviously an elimination checkpoint. Those experiencing this kind of level for the first time felt uneasy, while those who had been through it were more composed, carefully watching the mathematics teacher and pondering over this scenario.

Right! They seemed to still have English homework to finish and had to hand it in after class.

The hints said the number of monsters in the space equaled or exceeded the number of people, everyone would be marked, and if called into the teacher’s office, who knew if there would be monsters inside—that would be truly dangerous.

Upon reconsideration, the classroom was the safest.

Now it’s class time; after class, whatever you do, try to stay together; otherwise, it’s easy to get marked, just thinking about it gives a headache, it’s hard to do, the teacher calls you to the office, you can’t have a big group going, can you? Even if avoiding being marked, at night monsters would randomly devour someone, just thinking of these things made people feel disheartened.

Everyone fervently hoped the monster wouldn’t choose them.

The sound of the mathematics teacher explaining the test paper pulled everyone back to attention, listening carefully, afraid of being noticed. Standing on the podium, you can see what’s happening clearly; they didn’t want to anger the math teacher, goodness knows if they’d be called to the office and made to stand. If there were monsters inside and they got marked, wouldn’t they be prime targets come nighttime?

”This is also a typical problem. Liu Mingming, come up and explain.” The mathematics teacher began checking randomly, Liu Mingming drew a deep breath and took his test paper to the front.

Fortunately, he was well-prepared, constantly attentive to the progress of the mathematics teacher’s explanation, having already familiarized himself with the test paper’s problems, and after all, he was a college graduate, his math grades were pretty good then. Even if these problems seemed unfamiliar now, his foundational knowledge remained, a slight review should suffice. The answers were also on the test paper, correct ones, or else he wouldn’t know how to handle this. Even if the problems seemed familiar, after being out of school for years, finishing this problem would be hard, with the test paper, explaining became much simpler, as long as he hadn’t forgotten the fundamentals, outlining the solution path and steps would be enough.

Whew, still quite simple.

Watching Liu Mingming approach the podium, everyone was edgy, especially those whose paperwork covered in red X marks.

Following that, Liu Mingming began explaining, stuttering a bit through the problem.

He noticed the mathematics teacher didn’t show dissatisfaction, allowing him to relax more.

After finishing his explanation, the mathematics teacher smiled: ”Not bad, just too nervous, but don’t worry, after coming up a few more times, you’ll get used to it.”

Liu Mingming really wanted to say loudly, can’t I refuse?

”These next three problems are also very typical,” as soon as the mathematics teacher finished speaking, everyone felt a bad premonition, ”Suddenly I find getting students up here to explain problems helps you understand better.”

The Adventurers inwardly wailed, burying their heads low, afraid they’d be selected.

The mathematics teacher mercilessly picked three students: ”Zhang Fangfang, Li Qiang, Xu Zhou, these next three problems, you’ll explain them.”

The mathematics teacher was already standing aside, clearly leaving the podium for the three.

Zhang Fangfang looked at her test paper full of red marks, standing up she said softly: ”Teacher, I didn’t answer this problem correctly.”

At her words, she saw the stern gaze of the mathematics teacher, trembling in fright.

Really terrifying.

”The test paper was distributed during the early reading session; I told you then to think about where you went wrong, to discuss among yourselves, this problem is very simple, did you not ask your classmates for help? Most students in the class answered this correctly.”

Zhang Fangfang closed her eyes and said: ”I’m sorry, teacher, I’m naturally slower than others, even if classmates explain repeatedly, no matter why I just can’t learn it.” Her eyes reddened, gazing at the mathematics teacher, ”Teacher, I do want to learn, I just can’t, I’m simply not cut out for studying, if I can’t get into college, do I have to go work at a construction site?”

As she spoke, Zhang Fangfang immersed herself more, appearing genuinely sad.

The Adventurers were bewildered for a moment, seeing the mathematics teacher seemed sympathetic, their minds stirred. The danger in this world was clear, with less threat at other times, the greatest danger was being marked by monsters and nighttime attacks. Admitting directly seemed alright; like Zhang Fangfang’s act of pity seemed feasible.

”Alright, don’t cry, sit down first, I’ll explain this problem, listen carefully,” the mathematics teacher began, just when Zhang Fangfang thought she had gotten through this round, he continued, ”After class, bring the test paper to my office, I’ll explain it to you individually, and after school time, come to the office.”

Zhang Fangfang: ...

Remedy!

Adventurers originally planning to imitate Zhang Fangfang were amused and dared not play victim now.

After the mathematics teacher explained the problem, it was Li Qiang and Xu Zhou’s turn to approach the podium.

Li Qiang’s test paper was also incorrect, but he had swapped with his deskmate’s paper.
