She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Everyone shook their heads, simultaneously pondering in their hearts.

Granny Li said, ”I’ll go ask Yangyang and them. Rou’er sometimes likes to play over there. When Rou’er was little, Yangyang, her brother, often played with her. They might have gone to play together.”

Watching Granny Li leave, everyone swiftly went back inside.

”Will Granny Li ask us to help find them next?” Huo Jingchen spoke up, ”Are you willing to help? Those who want to help can go, those who don’t want to help can choose not to.”

Everyone had no objection to this.

”Since the villagers are good people, it should be right to lend a hand,” Qin Lin chimed in.

Ah Chen said, ”Helping the villagers, the villagers surely won’t harm us, but if we encounter the outsiders, assuming Rou’er has already been harmed, we may encounter those who harmed Rou’er.”

This possibility exists.

”Overall, be careful.” She added.

”So, are we going?” Wei Wenlan asked Ah Chen.

Ah Chen said, ”Go.”

Now, everyone has a lot of things on hand, they can actually go and give it a try, everyone should be planning to try.

However, somewhat unexpectedly, Granny Li did not come for help, and before dark, the bodies of Qu Rou’er and Qu Yiyang were found and brought back.

”Everyone, please rest. These two young ones had an accident, I hope it didn’t affect you.” The village head apologized with a sorrowful expression and then left with the villagers.

Inside, everyone was looking at each other in dismay.

The villagers’ reaction was too calm, no one called the police, nor did they indicate any intention to find the culprit, somewhat strange.

”The storyline in this village seems to be playing out unexpectedly.” Wei Yao scratched his head, ”What do we do next? After tonight, by tomorrow afternoon, this checkpoint should be considered cleared.”

It’s just that the story behind hasn’t been clarified, and the hidden task hasn’t been found, somewhat regrettably.

There is a reward for the food challenge, even if they don’t discover the hidden task they are not so persistent anymore. People have curiosity, no one doesn’t want to know about the story behind.

No one in the room felt sleepy, gathering together under the cellphone flashlights, in silence.

Suddenly, a sound broke the quiet night, coming from outside the door, low but clearly reaching the ears of everyone inside. They even heard the sound of a door opening, confirming it was coming from Granny Li’s house.

She went out.

”They’re caught, the village chief wants you, the elder, to come over to see how to deal with it.”

”Good, as long as they are caught.” Granny Li’s voice lowered a tone, clenched with hatred.

”Those three outsiders dared to bully our villagers and harmed two kids from our village, it’s intolerable. The village chief said, as long as your two families nod, none will be spared. Granny Li, keep your voice down, don’t alert the other outsiders, otherwise, we can’t keep this hidden.”

”I agree, I want them to pay with their lives.”

Footsteps faded away.

Wei Wenlan whispered, ”Are they telling us they’re going to execute those three people? Since these three are the culprits, in this kind of world, we surely won’t go out to intervene.”

”I fear there are more things coming,” Bai Xingwen said.

Everyone perked up, waiting for the next part of the storyline.

There’s an intuition that even if the hidden task appears before them, it might not be so easy to complete.

Not long after, outside resounded the screams again, identical to the first night.

Everyone seemed accustomed, held their breath.

”I won’t let you go, ah— I won’t let you go even as a ghost!”

”Villagers, you all wait for me.”

”Ah—”

The sound remained sharp, uncomfortable to hear.

”Hahaha, I’m a fierce ghost now, I’ve become a fierce ghost, are you burning me? Then I want every single one of you villagers to taste being burnt to death.”

The voice of the fierce ghost accompanied by the villagers’ panic, those inside the house already saw the firelight outside.

Everyone focused, is this implying they should go out to fight the fire? If they don’t, will it affect them?

Raging flames, there are fierce ghosts outside, it really requires careful weighing, otherwise if the villagers aren’t saved and they themselves get caught up, it would be somewhat unworthy.

Huo Jingchen was about to speak when everyone’s minds were flooded with a prompt, surroundings turned quiet, no, actually frozen, the air solidified, time halted, even the flickering flames outside paused.

Those inside the house couldn’t move, but still sensed the surrounding situation.

Suppressing the panic in their hearts, they started to check what appeared in their minds.

[Food Village is under attack by three fierce ghosts, as attendees of the food festival, you didn’t expect such a situation. The three fierce ghosts only harbor hatred for the villagers who burned them to death. As long as you don’t intervene, you can safely get through this night. Once you intervene, the fierce ghosts will also target you unless you can eliminate them, they will use their last remnant of ghost power to hunt you down. Now you have two options:

A. Go out to help the villagers resist the fierce ghosts, perhaps manage to eliminate them, saving the Food Village from devastation, and the villagers will thank you, offering generous rewards. Also, the risk of failing to resist the fierce ghosts, leaving you stuck here forever.

B. It’s a grudge between the fierce ghosts and the Food Village villagers, unrelated to you, better not meddle, quietly stay inside waiting for it all to end. (Note: The three fierce ghosts are very powerful, basic tools can only inflict some damage requiring intermediate tools to eliminate, each intermediate tool can only eliminate one fierce ghost) Countdown: 59 seconds]

Everyone was stunned for a moment, and now space-time halted, they had consciousness but couldn’t communicate, with only a minute to consider.

The current situation is full of uncertainty, no one dared to take too much risk.

Rewards are abundant, still need to weigh the gains and losses.

Especially like Huo Jingchen and the three, adventurers lacking sufficient coins need to think carefully.

A one-time intermediate tool costs 500 coins, the cheapest among intermediate tools. This time in the Food Village event, they all gained somewhat, indeed everyone could actually pull out 1500 coins.

Huo Jingchen’s mind raced, in fact, they could take the risk, as long as life is not threatened, occasional risks are worthwhile.

Besides, there are only three fierce ghosts here, 1500 coins can eliminate them. Several people in the team, distributed among them actually costs less than five hundred.

So, he chose A, to assist the villagers in eliminating the fierce ghosts.

Ah Chen had some interest when she saw the prompt, just scanning it, without hesitation choosing A, not to mention she is not afraid of the fierce ghosts, nor is she lacking.

Both Bai Xingwen and Wei Wenlan didn’t hesitate much, when they can ensure their own safety, naturally if they can help, they’ll help, whether here or in the outside real world, this would be their choice.
