Gun of Ashes

The Ghostly Floating Massacre advanced without anyone noticing; these heavy armors were cumbersome. Compared to the Armor of Original Sin, they were extremely slow in movement, but correspondingly, they were draped in thick armor, like a wall of shields.

When the Ghostly Floating Massacre united, it became an insurmountable wall, slowly advancing now, swallowing rainwater and corpses, putting everything at its feet.

”Keep going, Ingwig people!”

Such a voice echoed within the Ghostly Floating Massacre, and the wall advanced slowly, swinging its giant blade and axe, slicing any Demon attempting to approach into mincemeat.

Bola did not speak much, darkness had linked him with these outsiders; they had been unfamiliar strangers, but now they were brothers sharing life and death.

Peacekeepers quickened their pace, advancing with firepower, using their agility far beyond the Ghostly Floating Massacre to restrain those Enhanced Demons.

”This is the Wavebreaker War Airship, calling Bola.”

A sound came through the channel, Bola looked up and saw another War Airship appear, riding the rolling sea of clouds, passing overhead.

”This is Bola, what’s up?”

The erosion affected the communication across the city, the voice in the channel was intermittent with static noise.

”Observing from high above, a large number of Demons are advancing towards you!”

The voice carried fear; even just listening, Bola felt the pressure on the other side.

A Demon tide?

Seeing around the still-engaging Enhanced Demons and more Demons attempting to cross the fire sea, Bola’s pupils trembled slightly, having barely managed to solve the dilemma before him, only to face another strong enemy.

Deep breath, as an Upper-Rank Knight who has experienced countless life and death, Bola could not allow himself to be captured by such fear.

”Thank... thank you.”

He thanked the other end of the channel, wanting to say something sorrowful, but the other side shouted loudly.

”Wait, Bola, something is coming!”

”What?”

Bola couldn’t understand, didn’t know what the other was seeing from high above.

”Something is advancing towards you!”

”What thing is advancing?”

Bola shouted back, but now the channel was filled with static noise, with the approaching Demon tide, excessive erosion completely paralyzed communication, and now here became desolate.

Gritting his teeth, looking from afar, he could see that as the tide rose, a sea of Demons pressed forward.

”Don’t be afraid, everyone.”

Bola shouted, trying to encourage others.

But before he finished speaking, more Peacekeepers rushed past him, their ammunition emptied, then they swung their sharp blades, some even borrowed Giant Axes from the Ghostly Floating Massacre, each strike making the accumulated water on the ground tremble slightly.

Another sharp sound erupted, the Spiral Spear spinning forward, penetrating an Iron Armor Demon.

”Don’t worry, Bola.”

Night Owl said lightly.

”It’s just another battle.”

Bola’s expression gradually became calm, the Weapon Master walked to the front, taking off a short dagger and armor fire gun from the weapon rack, standing before the fire sea, ready for the final counterattack.

The black tide approached, everyone’s heartbeat increased as if it were an engine on the verge of explosion.

In this stormy moment, Bola seemed to try to control his fear, roaring loudly, but at this time, another piercing sound emerged.

That sound was so piercing, it easily drowned out Bola’s roar, along with the mournful cries of the Demons and the rumblings of thunder.

A loud horn sounded, the continuous flashing lights like the eyes of a monster, emerging from the rain and fog, crossing the fire sea.

This was the sharpest sword, also the most tenacious iron hammer, it broke the road and crushed the enemy’s skull.

The Armed Iron Serpent was covered in blood, while stirring waves several meters high, crushing one Demon after another, blood and fragments evenly smeared on the metal surface.

Everyone was stunned, no one had expected that another Armed Iron Serpent would be advancing here, and its entry point seemed somewhat off.

The Armed Iron Serpent should have appeared at the rear of the team, where the terrain was higher, less accumulated water, and remained under control.

But this time it directly rushed from the deep water, plunging into the Demon tide, like an iron wall, once again isolating the Demon tide behind the fire sea.

This was simply suicidal, and a joyous one at that, because this damn Armed Iron Serpent kept sounding the horn even after stopping, as annoying as an alarm clock in the morning.

Bola had just prepared to rush forward, attempting to rescue the personnel on the Armed Iron Serpent, but then a grappling hook shot from the fire sea, embedding in the wall, and seconds later, a figure was leapt up onto a high building pulled by the hook.

Who is it?

Bola was puzzled, but then light appeared, illuminating the person’s face behind the heavy rain.

It was Shao Liangye.

Then...

Bola realized something, his gaze attracted by the light illuminating Shao Liangye, he looked towards the sky, the figure leaped high, blazing flames closely followed him.

The light was massive, like a fallen bright sun.

Under this radiance, his silhouette was left only as a dark shadow.

”Lorenzo Holmes!”

Bola shouted, speaking his name, as if summoning a Demon.

His bright white eyes lifted behind the rain and fog, and Bola could confirm he was looking at himself, the Demon smiling, then responded to the mortal.

”Hey! Bola!”

Lorenzo responded, then laughed aloud.

”Once more!”

”The great rescue from Holmes!”

The raging sun slowly fell, erupting.

It was a fire far more intense than burning Lacquered Antimony, a hundred times fiercer, Bola’s sight instantly taken away, leaving only an unbearable bright light.

Coldness no longer existed, replaced by scorching winds, rushing in, blowing over the boiling heated water accumulation, with the sound of popping bubbles, and countless corpses burned into scorched shells.

As if the sun had fallen, bringing endless destruction.

A massive amount of steam was swallowed by the gusts before dispersing, hundreds of Demons were evaporated in an instant, leaving only floating ashes. The outer Demons left with shriveled corpses, standing like weathered dead trees.

The light vanished in an instant, in the residual heat, a figure stood alone, under his feet was a scorched earth, briefly a few seconds later, water accumulation surged back up, filling this void.

Lorenzo took several steps, slightly frowning, the high temperature heated the water accumulation, now feeling like soaking in a bath.

But...

Lorenzo looked forward, there were still many Demons surviving the high temperature, and numerous Enhanced Demons, for the first time they showed fear, hesitating, not daring to advance.

Drawing his dual swords, Lorenzo sliced through the water, striding towards the Demons.

”I don’t want to bathe with the Demons.”

He began to run swiftly, the scorching high temperature running around him, within the dense steam, a bizarre ”vacuum” appeared beside Lorenzo.

Raindrops touching the vacuum’s boundary evaporated instantly, as did under Lorenzo’s feet, the water was burned away by high temperature, causing Lorenzo’s every step to touch the dry ground.

”Come on!”

He shouted loudly, swinging the Nail Sword.

The blade seemed to be protected by mighty forces, no Demon could withstand a single strike, sliced at the Demon’s body, in addition to physical cutting, the wounded flesh began to burn at the moment of bleeding, turning into ashes scattered in the sky.

An Iron Armor Demon tried to block the path, but Lorenzo slashed down, igniting scattered sparks. He was slightly surprised, unable to cut open the Demon’s Iron Armor, but there was a clear sword mark on the solid Iron Armor.

Lorenzo leaped, thrusting the Nail Sword; the violent heat was focused to a point, without any obstacle, the Nail Sword easily penetrated the Demon’s Iron Armor, into the head.

The Demon’s scarlet eyes gradually became dull, flame ignited deep within the pupils soon after, its mouth opened weakly, its scarlet mouth turning entirely grayish black, the deep part of the throat had rolling crimson.

The high temperature injected into its body through the Nail Sword, bypassing the Iron Armor.

The corpse collapsed powerlessly to the ground, while Lorenzo pulled the Nail Sword out forcefully, drawing a stream of fire.
