Gun of Ashes

At this moment, the place was already a chaotic mess, the sound of gunfire roaring in my ears.

Hell, it wasn’t just Eve firing now. A few unexpected guys also pushed open the doors, wearing pajamas, firing wildly, each looking like a menacing fugitive with blood on their hands.

Eve remembered the introduction to this hotel from before. As a place mixed with both good and bad, it wasn’t surprising that a few assassins would stay here, right?

These fugitives thought their enemies had found them, and no one could be trusted, thus opening the curtain of a grand battle.

”It’s about time, we should go.”

Lorenzo came over. The intelligence gathered was already sufficient, and he was sure that Erin wasn’t dead. Moreover, a new force had joined this conflict.

Retrieving his Folding Blade from Eve, Lorenzo peeked out the door, a bullet grazing past his scalp, leaving a chill.

”Move aside!”

Eve said, pulling Lorenzo back, then darted out, a bullet taking an enemy’s life.

”Was the retreat plan also written in your plan?”

”Of course it was, but it certainly doesn’t involve fighting our way out directly.”

Before departure, those guys had repeatedly warned Lorenzo, keeping it low-key. Considering Lorenzo’s past actions, their concerns were valid; Lorenzo always found strange ways to steer events in the worst direction.

Due to the sensitivity of this operation, Lorenzo was also trying his best to control himself. Thinking of this, he looked up inside the room, several people were already dead, blood soaking the floor.

No choice, Lorenzo had tried his best.

”In my plan, Hebdo would trigger Erin’s trap, and when Erin felt safe, I would come out to grab her. But obviously, we’ve been disrupted... no, we are the disrupters.”

Lorenzo felt a headache coming on.

”So what?” Eve shouted.

This was Red Falcon Hotel’s territory, they had enough firepower to deal with these unexpected guests, and now these people were about to advance.

”So! What plan do we need!”

Lorenzo grabbed Eve, the strength of a Demon Hunter was outrageous, not to mention Lorenzo’s body was also fused with the flesh of the Holy Grail.

Eve could only feel the scenery in her vision changing rapidly, followed by the sound of breaking glass.

Lorenzo dashed out of Blue Whale Hotel following Hebdo’s escape route, although the height was somewhat troubling, he was at least a Demon Hunter with a physique far surpassing Hebdo’s.

While Hebdo climbed down bit by bit, Lorenzo directly swung his Folding Blade, thrusting it heavily into the wall. The long scar accompanied Lorenzo’s fall, slicing the building’s surface.

Finally, he landed gently.

Like a dance reaching its end, all the gunfire was left behind, Lorenzo put Eve down and even made an elegant bow.

Eve looked at him incredulously, unsure of what kind of whimsy had struck this guy.

The rapid sound of hoofbeats approached, along with a gust of wind, the carriage stopped beside the two, the door opened to reveal Hebdo in a courier’s attire, with Red Falcon holding the reins at the front of the carriage.

”Seems the mission failed,” Red Falcon said, looking at the two.

”Erin isn’t here, and even if she was, she would have escaped by now.”

Lorenzo boarded the carriage. Hebdo’s description was accurate; that woman was indeed clever. Rather than capturing her, Lorenzo was more curious at the moment about how Erin would deal with these enemies if he hadn’t disrupted things.

The carriage began to drive away from here, the tumultuous gunfire had already attracted the attention around. Even though this was a big Lower City District, there was still order here, and those maintaining order should be on their way. Lorenzo had already heard that iron whistle echoing under the night sky.

In an instant, blazing firelight illuminated the night sky, its glow piercing the carriage interior. Just as everyone wondered what was happening, an explosive boom hit, violently jarring the carriage.

Lorenzo turned back to see that inside Blue Whale Hotel, on the floor where Lorenzo had just fought, a raging fire had already started. The blast’s shockwave threw the corpses out, slapping onto the street, blood flowing.

...

A few minutes ago.

Just as planned, intense fighting broke out in B524, and at that moment, the door to B523 silently opened.

The cleaner stepped out from the room, trying to draw as little attention as possible. Erin disguised herself as much as she could, stuffing her clothes with padding to make her body look more like a man’s. As for the original owner of this attire, Erin hoped he could get a good sleep in B523.

This unfortunate cleaner just happened to pass by her room.

Amidst the sound of gunfire, Erin quickly walked in the opposite direction.

The Blue Whale Hotel looked splendid, but behind this architecture, in the dark alleys, there was a lot of room for maneuvering.

In the past, they would welcome powerful guests in the grand hall, and then in these dark alleys, use fire escape ladders and those cleaning passages to send some dirty things to those guests’ rooms.

At the end of the corridor was a hidden cleaning passage, and she had to leave through there, but unfortunately, after turning the corner, there were two armed assassins.

Erin let out a terrified whimper, raising her hands as if she were a citizen who had strayed onto the battlefield.
