Gun of Ashes

121A Cork Street, Winchester Law Firm.

The firm had been officially open for almost a week. Although the scene was still chaotic upon pushing the door open, to some extent, the place had started to develop a certain atmosphere.

Lorenzo got up early in the morning, still in his familiar outfit, and a row of weapons was laid out on the wooden table in front of him.

Nail Sword, Armor-Piercing Hammer, Winchester, Hook Gun, Lacquered Antimony Flying Knife, and various types of ammunition—these were all deadly weapons, piled together, occupying the entire wooden table before him.

However, this time Lorenzo didn’t have to struggle to hide them one by one under his clothes. Honestly, that feeling was really uncomfortable. To accommodate these, Lorenzo had even customized a weapon belt for himself before, allowing him to hang weapons under his coat. But even so, when he ran, he still felt poked by these sharp weapons.

This time was different, though. He picked up a heavy wooden cello case, the cello in it had been thrown aside, and the empty space inside the case had been transformed by Lorenzo into a clever weapon rack.

He stuffed the weapons from the table inside one by one, accompanied by the crisp sound of metal, they were neatly arranged together, and with the cello case closed, no one would know that it actually contained so many dangerous items.

Lorenzo couldn’t play the cello, nor did he have any so-called musical talent. The only relationship he had with music was his random habit of humming strange songs, and he always did it off-key.

This was the identity Arthur had given him, perhaps this was the ”official” convenience. This time, Lorenzo would be playing the role of a cellist and would be traveling with an orchestra to Gaulunaro under this guise.

With the assistance of the authorities, a series of documents were placed on the other side; no matter who checked, they would find no flaws... because they were genuine.

He hoisted the cello case, confident he could play the role of a musician well. But there was one fatal flaw, which was the weight of the case that had become too heavy after being loaded with so many weapons. Probably only Lorenzo, with Secret Blood, could casually carry it around.

However, this part was assisted by Nordro. Their shipping routes spanned the entire Western world, and Lorenzo’s mission this time would proceed by taking Nordro’s ships. The road ahead would be unimpeded, with no one inspecting Lorenzo, and no one noticing his presence until reaching Gaulunaro.

Thinking of this, Lorenzo couldn’t help but feel relieved; having two giant entities to ensure his safety was truly a great feeling. In Lorenzo’s plan, he didn’t even need any elaborate schemes or tricks; all he had to do was find Ivar’s location, break in, and find a way to bring him back to Ingwig.

It sounded difficult, but given Lorenzo’s capabilities, it was actually too simple.

Humans were far more fragile than demons; Lorenzo even thought that he might not need to use Secret Blood during this mission.

As he walked downstairs, Arthur was already waiting there. Since Lorenzo’s rampage at the Platinum Palace, this guy hadn’t shown Lorenzo a pleasant face.

”What, are you here to personally see me off?” Lorenzo asked.

Perhaps due to his unsavory nature, his words carried a hint of sarcasm, making Arthur’s expression even more sullen.

”Weren’t you the one who asked me to come?” Arthur retorted.

”Huh?”

Hearing this, Lorenzo suddenly remembered.

Lorenzo’s itinerary had been arranged: first, take the train from Old Dunling to the port of Reindona, from there take Nordro’s ship to Gaulunaro. Today was his last day in Old Dunling.

”Oh right! Hold on a moment!”

Lorenzo almost forgot about it. He put the cello case aside and rummaged through a pile of sour-smelling clothes until he found a plain notebook.

”This is Shermans’ notes... or to be precise, the notes of the Borgia family, regarding what I mentioned as [Boundary]. It contains the most detailed conjectures.”

Lorenzo originally intended to hand it directly to Merlin, but Merlin had been too busy with the experiments of the previous Merlin, namely William, and had not had time to see Lorenzo.

The Perpetual Motion Pump had restarted research on the Red Signal incident. They tried to wake William to confirm what had actually happened during the Red Signal incident.

”But, Arthur, I’ve already torn out a few pages.”

Arthur accepted the notebook, but Lorenzo added a clarification.

”What do you mean?”

Arthur was somewhat puzzled as to why Lorenzo had done this.

”Do you remember what I said? About the nature of the [Boundary], I suspect it’s a kind of warning system. Once someone’s cognition crosses that limit, they will be hit... just like the Night of the Holy Arrival. The Demon Hunting Order couldn’t resist that impact, nor could your Purification Mechanism.”

Lorenzo’s thoughts turned grim as he began to realize that the [Boundary] was an unsolvable problem for humanity.

”If we recklessly cross the [Boundary], this time, possibly the entire Purification Mechanism... no, the entire Old Dunling could fall into the hell of erosion.

Until we have enough power to comprehend it, let me safeguard this forbidden knowledge for now.”
