Super Gene Hunting Ground

”Your Majesty, we don’t know the exact situation either. News suddenly spread from Dragon City that they’re assembling a hundred thousand troops. Now the whole Dragon City is in an uproar, all the local armies are rushing there. I’ve already sent people to every corner of Dragon City to gather information, but for the moment we still haven’t got a definite reason.”

That intelligence officer said.

The Flying Leopard Emperor thought for a moment and said to a guard:

”Pass down my order, convene an emergency meeting. Hurry, immediately!”

”Yes!”

The guard rushed out in a hurry.

The Emperor of Great Dragon was still not at ease, and spoke to another personal guard:

”Go quickly to the residence of the Imperial First War General Wanyan Kang and personally summon the General to come to the Royal Palace at once.”

”Yes, Your Majesty!”

The Emperor of Great Dragon took a squad of guards and hurriedly ran toward the Royal Palace hall.

Half an hour later, the main Generals of the Imperial Capital City and most of the officials had all arrived at the Royal Palace hall.

The First War General Wanyan Kang, the Eldest Prince Wanyan He, and the richest man Qin Chuan were all present.

Intelligence officers from Dragon City were also continuously sending people to pass the latest reports to the Flying Leopard Empire; the Transmission Array between the two places had not been shut down.

The Transmission Arrays between cities have a limit on the number of people; they’re not suited for transporting large-scale armies.

Everyone had been dragged out of their sleep and all the way over they were completely confused, not knowing what major incident had happened.

Only when they reached the Royal Palace hall did they learn that the Great Dragon Empire was massing troops to attack the Flying Leopard Empire.

No one could believe this.

”Are they crazy? TMD we just formed the Witch Star Alliance Army to resist the Dwarf Star people’s invasion, and not long ago the Great Dragon Empire was still solemnly swearing they wouldn’t stir up trouble or invade us. What the hell happened?”

”I haven’t heard of any major incident. Things were fine when I went to bed tonight. What’s going on? Don’t tell me our army invaded the Great Dragon Empire first?”

”What bullshit, how could we possibly provoke them.”

”Then that’s what’s weird. What on earth happened that made the Emperor of Great Dragon suddenly mass troops overnight to attack us?”

...

Everyone was still talking in the main hall, while the Flying Leopard Emperor, Wanyan Kang, and the Eldest Prince Wanyan He were in a separate small room inside the hall, finishing an emergency deployment.

”Wanyan Kang, you and the Prince will urgently assemble the armies of the nearby cities and rush to the border cities between the two countries as fast as possible, just in case.

He’er, this is your first time taking part in a war like this. Learn well from your Uncle Kang.”

At this critical moment, the Flying Leopard Empire had no choice but to rely on the First War General Wanyan Kang.

The Eldest Prince Wanyan He immediately said:

”Yes, Father, I will definitely learn well from Uncle Kang. I also ask Uncle Kang not to hold back in teaching me.”

At this moment Wanyan Kang was inwardly delighted; only when the Empire faced the threat of war would the importance of him, the pillar of the Empire, truly be revealed.

No matter who inherited the throne of the Flying Leopard Empire, they would never be able to do without him.

”Hehe, the Prince is both wise and valiant. I will definitely assist His Highness to the best of my ability. Whatever orders you have, just give them and this old minister will see them done.”

”Not at all, I’m young and still ignorant in many matters. I’ll need Uncle Kang to teach me more.”

Although Wanyan He was the heir to the throne, his attitude was very humble. He knew his Genetic Evolution Talent was limited, and he might never reach the Emperor Level Realm in his lifetime. If he wanted to firmly secure the throne in the future, he would have to rely on a powerful minister like Wanyan Kang.

The two of them took their leave of the Emperor and rushed off to mobilize the army and head for the border cities.

The Flying Leopard Emperor returned to the main hall. The originally noisy crowd fell silent the moment they saw the Emperor come out; they all knelt and cried out:

”Greetings to the Emperor!”

By now the Flying Leopard Emperor no longer had the panic from earlier; as an Emperor, he was no stranger to blood and slaughter.

”Mm, everyone rise.”

”Thank you, Emperor!”

Everyone stood and lined up on both sides. The Flying Leopard Emperor walked up to the throne, sat down, swept his gaze over the crowd, and spoke bluntly:

”Summoning all of you here in the middle of the night is because there’s a very urgent, sudden situation. I imagine you already know the basics.

According to the report from the intelligence officers in Dragon City, the Emperor of Great Dragon has urgently assembled a hundred thousand elite guards overnight and is openly claiming he’s going to attack us. It’s all too sudden, too suspicious, so I had no choice but to call you all here in the middle of the night.

Of course, you don’t need to panic. I’ve just now already appointed the Imperial First War General Wanyan Kang and the Eldest Prince. The two of them have already set out overnight to gather troops and hold the border.”

Just a few words from the Flying Leopard Emperor were enough to calm everyone’s nerves.

The crowd, who had been quite shaken just now, relaxed a lot after hearing the Emperor’s words.

Someone spoke up:

”Emperor, for the Great Dragon Empire to suddenly decide to attack us, has some unexpected situation arisen?”

The Flying Leopard Emperor sighed and said:

”I don’t know either. I’m just as puzzled. The reason I’ve gathered you all here is so we can think of countermeasures together, and at the same time make proper preparations. If the other side really does attack us tomorrow, all of you must hold fast to your posts—logistics, frontline troops, calming the populace, mobilizing civilians and so on—each task must be carried out in an orderly fashion. Don’t panic.”

Just then, a guard hurried into the hall.

”Reporting to the Emperor, the intelligence officers in Dragon City have sent word. After extensive inquiries, they still haven’t found the exact reason. Even their own guards don’t know why this came so suddenly.

However, we’ve obtained another piece of intelligence that may be related to this operation.”

”What intelligence? Speak!”

”It’s said that the Great Dragon Empire’s Long Aotian went to Earth a few months ago and only returned to Witch Star yesterday. According to what they’re saying over there, after Long Aotian came back he went straight to see the Emperor of Great Dragon, and the two of them talked alone in the study for a while. After that, the Emperor of Great Dragon issued the order to assemble troops and attack us.”

The Flying Leopard Emperor and the more than one hundred officials in the hall all stared at each other in confusion after hearing this, glancing at the people beside them and each shaking their heads.

The Flying Leopard Emperor was also completely baffled and said:

”Long Aotian returns to Witch Star from Earth, and then he launches a war against us. My IQ’s not low, but I really can’t make sense of it. Is there any logical connection in there at all?”

Everyone was dumbfounded into a wry laugh.

A few strategists stepped forward and said:

”Emperor, although this has come very suddenly, I believe the Emperor of Great Dragon must have his reasons for sending troops.

I have a suggestion. On the one hand we assemble our forces and prepare to face them in battle.

On the other hand, we can also send someone to Mingluo City to ask the Elder Court of the Genetic Store to mediate this matter.

After all, we’ve just formed the Alliance Army, and Witch Star is facing an invasion from the Dwarf Star people.

At such a critical juncture, no one else is going to want to see our two countries go to war.”

The Flying Leopard Emperor let out two cold laughs and said:

”If he wants war, then I’ll give him war.

They’ve been invading us for years. Now that they’ve lost their War God and Long Kui, those two Transcendent powerhouses, their strength is much weaker than before.

Whereas we still have the First War General Wanyan Kang, the dean of Flying Leopard Academy, Xinghai, plus myself. We have three Emperor Level Transcendent Experts. Our strength is no worse than theirs.

If he didn’t come looking for a fight, I’d be the one going to pick a fight with him!”
