Super Gene Hunting Ground

In Mingluo City, an interstellar warship landed at the base, and Gustone stepped off the spaceship.

Gustone, accompanied by two attendants, finished the procedures at the base before soaring upward, utilizing his Flying Technique, heading towards the Genetic Store Headquarters in Mingluo City.

In the center of Mingluo City stood a towering mountain whose peak pierced the clouds. It rose to ten thousand meters, with snow-covered terrain from halfway up.

In the daylight, the mountain resembled a gigantic Ice Sword, stabbing straight into the skies.

This mountain was called Magic Mountain.

The entire Mingluo City was built around Magic Mountain. However, within several kilometers of it, a massive Defense Light Screen separated it because Magic Mountain housed the Genetic Store Headquarters, and without a pass, entry to the headquarters was impossible for the general public.

Gustone arrived at a passage at the foot of Magic Mountain and presented his Identity Jade.

The leader of the Guard Team received the Jade, verified Gustone’s identity, and handed it back to him, saying:

”Lord Gu, you may enter.”

Gustone nodded; after his two attendants had their identities verified, the three of them crossed the Defensive Light Curtain Gate and entered inside.

Currently, Gustone’s position is the Chief of the Purple Origin Star for the Genetic Store, a role equivalent to the coordinator for the Genetic Store in the Great Dragon Empire on Witch Star.

In the Genetic Store’s personnel organization structure, this equated to mid-to-high management.

The headquarters of the Genetic Store was constructed at the foot of Magic Mountain, built into the mountain. The grand architectural complex blended well with the entire Magic Mountain, giving off a mysterious feeling.

Gustone was not very familiar with the headquarters. From the time he started serving the Genetic Store up to now, over several decades, the times he entered the headquarters were few and far between.

It wasn’t until his recent promotion to the role of Chief of Purple Origin Star that he gained the right to enter the headquarters on his own. Previously, unless specified by an invitation, he wasn’t permitted to enter.

Gustone arrived outside a building where a squad of guards stood.

The guards, clearly unfamiliar with Gustone, immediately raised their hands to stop him.

”Halt, may I ask who you are and whom you’re seeking?”

”Oh, I am Gustone, the Chief of Genetic Store on Purple Origin Star, here to report to the Elder Court.”

As Gustone spoke, he handed over his Identity Jade.

The leading guard took the Identification Card, verified it, and returned it to Gustone,

”So it’s Lord Gu. You may proceed, but the two with you must wait outside. The Elder Court is the headquarters’ core and ordinary people aren’t allowed inside.”

Gustone nodded, instructed his two attendants with a few words, and entered the gates of the Elder Court.

The Genetic Store Headquarters operates under a collective management system of the Elder Court, where nine elders collectively consult on major matters concerning the Genetic Store, while the Chief Elder has the power to veto.

In other words, among the nine elders, the Chief Elder can use a veto against collective resolutions.

Additionally, besides possessing veto power, the Chief Elder also has the privilege voting system, which states that within a year, the Chief Elder can unilaterally invoke the privilege up to three times without the consensus of other Elders to force the entire Genetic Store system to comply.

The Chief Elder indeed wields formidable special power.

The Chief Elder of the Genetic Store Headquarters is the same old man whom Yang Xiao knew on Earth as Gu Bo.

Gustone checked in at the foreign affairs reception of the Elder Court, signed in, and submitted a request for an urgent report.

”There has been a significant change on the Purple Origin Star, and the Chief, Gustone, requests an emergency report to the Elder Court.”

The staff in charge nodded upon hearing this and said:

”Lord Gu, please rest in the lounge for a moment. I will notify several elders to come over, which will take about half an hour.”

”Alright.”

Under the guidance of the staff, Gustone arrived at a lounge, stocked with tea, snacks, and simple beds specifically for those who return after a long journey to report intelligence.

Gustone did not stand on ceremony; he sat down, poured himself a cup of tea, ate some snacks, and quietly waited for the elders to arrive.

About half an hour later, the staff came to Gustone’s lounge.

”Lord Gu, five of the nine elders have arrived, waiting for you in the Elder Court meeting room. Follow me.”

Gustone quickly got up and followed the staff.

Gustone was puzzled, knowing the Chief Elder was acquainted with him on Earth, but why were four of the other eight elders missing?

So he quietly asked:

”Aren’t there supposed to be nine elders? Why are there only five?”

The staff replied indifferently:

”The other four elders are out attending to other matters.”

After passing through several corridors and two buildings, meticulously checked and verified along the way, Gustone finally entered an opulently decorated hall.

Upon entering the hall, the staff closed the door, where a team of Golden Armor Guards stood watch.

In the hall was a circular table, approximately twenty meters in diameter, and at one side of the table sat five elderly seniors with white hair.

Gustone glanced around casually; apart from a few guards and servants, there were no other individuals present.

Gustone hurriedly approached and bowed across the circular table to the five senior men:

”Gustone, Chief of the Genetic Store on Purple Origin Star, greets the Elders.”

The five white-haired seniors glanced at Gustone, each with a sleepy expression.

One of the seniors cleared his throat and said:

”Gustone, which generation descendant of the Gu Family are you?”

”To the Elder, I am the 308th generation descendant of the Gu Family.”

”Oh!”

The elder made a sound, saying nothing more, and the vast hall fell into silence.

An elderly man with white hair casually said:

”You report an urgent situation on the Purple Origin Star? What’s going on?”

”Reporting to the Elder, the tribal community of Purple Origin Star has produced its first emperor-level evolver.”

”Oh? An emperor-level evolver?”

The elderly man was taken aback, turned his head to glance at the four elders beside him, and exchanged eye contact with them.

One of the elders slowly said:

”From what I recall, there has never been an emperor-level realm evolver among the tribal populace of Purple Origin Star. The highest level recorded is the Empire Level Advanced realm.”

”This indeed signifies a major development; breaking through to the emperor level implies that the tribal community of Purple Source Star has birthed a figure capable of contending with Witch Star’s top-tier powers, inevitably altering Purple Source Star’s longstanding disadvantaged standing against Witch Star.”

”Presently, there is only one emperor-level evolver, but should a few more arise in the future, the situation will become more intricate. Witch Star may no longer find mining on Purple Source Star as simple as it does now.”

...

The few old men chatted about it briefly, exchanging thoughts and viewpoints, when suddenly one of them asked:

”Gustone, who has broken through to the emperor level?”

”Reporting to the Elder, it was the Barbarian King.”

”The Barbarian King? I recall the Barbarian King has been stuck in the Empire Level Peak state for decades, unable to break through to the emperor level. How did he manage to do it this time? Was it chance or did he master some new genetic evolution secret technique?”

”Reporting to the Elder, the Barbarian King’s breakthrough to the emperor level wasn’t by chance; it’s rumored that the new tribal leader, Yang Xiao, discovered a new genetic evolution cultivation technique, which the Barbarian King practiced to successfully break through.”

The five elders were all taken aback upon hearing this.

”A new genetic evolution cultivation technique?”

”I’m unsure of the specifics, but such confidential genetic evolution methods are not publicly shown.”

The five elders nodded, the hall became quiet.

One elder looked at Gustone,

”Gustone, you mentioned just now the new tribal leader named Yang Xiao, the name sounds a bit familiar to me.”

Gustone bowed and said:

”Yes, Yang Xiao arrived at Purple Origin Star from Earth four years ago. The Chief Elder had once entrusted him with delivering a jade token, which I personally received from Yang Xiao at the time and then forwarded to Gu Hai, the person in charge at the Great Dragon Empire. Do you recall?”

The five old men heard this, each slapped their forehead,

”Ah, I remember now. So Yang Xiao is the youngster whom the Great Elder specifically instructed us to look after,

Hmm, it puzzles me how Yang Xiao has the capability to help the Barbarian King break through to the emperor level. Has he himself broken through to the emperor level?”

”No, Yang Xiao is currently just at the Empire Middle Level realm, yet,”

”Yet what?”

”Yang Xiao cultivated at Flying Leopard Academy for two years, rapidly progressing from a King Level Peak realm to the Empire Middle Level realm. This speed of breakthrough is surprisingly impressive,

I wonder if he has mastered some secret of genetic evolution, thereby aiding the Barbarian King in quickly achieving an emperor-level breakthrough?”

Several elders fell silent again, after a moment, one elder said:

”In the thousands of years of genetic evolution history on Witch Star, there’s never been a genetic evolution method capable of enabling people to break through to the emperor level in a short time,

If any did exist, it was because the evolver’s genetic talent was extraordinarily strong, allowing them to evolve miraculously with exterior aid,

Hmm, hearing this I’m reminded of the Great Elder,

The Great Elder initially dispatched Yang Xiao with a jade token, instructing us to take special care of Yang Xiao. It now seems the Great Elder’s judgment was unique, perhaps having noticed Yang Xiao’s extraordinary nature while he was on Earth, or else the Great Elder wouldn’t have directed special attention towards Yang Xiao.”

”Ah, the Great Elder has been away from Witch Star for five or six years, should be returning soon, there are many things that are difficult for us to decide upon.”

Then a white-haired elder remarked:

”The Barbarian King’s rapid breakthrough happened for another reason, which we all have overlooked.”

”What is it?”

The elders looked at him.

”Consider this: previously, according to the unspoken rules between our Genetic Store and several empires, the Genetic Store was prohibited from directly selling genetic potions to the tribal community,

If memory serves, approximately three to four years ago, the Genetic Store set a precedent by beginning to supply genetic potion to the tribal community,

Think about it, could the tribal community have broken through to the emperor level in such a short time without the Genetic Store providing specialized evolution potion?

Based on the tribal community’s path of evolution, they need to hunt a considerable number of demon beasts to absorb the genetic evolution energy from the beasts’ flesh,

King Level, Empire Level are manageable, but breaking through to the emperor level, the massive amount of genetic evolution energy required, how many demon beasts would they need to hunt?

Even if they could hunt enough demon beasts, how long would the Barbarian King need to consume it all?”

Everyone nodded in agreement upon hearing this.

Gustone also had a sudden realization; since the Genetic Store began servicing the tribal community, it has indeed accelerated their rate of genetic evolution.

The significance of this event wasn’t initially recognized, but it truly appears to be the case now.

Moreover, Yang Xiao and several empires’ new cooperation plan, which aided the tribal community in acquiring ample evolution resources, is likewise vital.

One elder sighed, saying:

”The situation on Purple Origin Star has grown complicated, the Genetic Store’s involvement greatly boosts the overall evolutionary level of the tribal community. Should we persist in offering services to the tribal community, or temporarily halt support? What are your thoughts?”

Upon hearing this, Gustone felt a sting in his heart.

Ceasing service to the tribal community of Purple Source Star would immediately halt the evolution of Yang Xiao’s Guangfu Clan, or at the very least substantially slow down their evolutionary pace.
