Super Gene Hunting Ground

Black Jinkang and the demon beasts were having fun together, not disturbing Yang Xiao, leaving him and Long Jing to quietly enjoy their own world.

Yang Xiao and Long Jing chatted idly, when Yang Xiao suddenly remembered something and said:

”Long Jing, did you know that Black Jinkang is from Earth?”

”Oh?”

”When we were captured by people from your Great Dragon Empire, they also captured a batch of demon beasts and sent them to the Genetic Evolution Research Institute on Witch Star.

After some research, Black Jinkang was considered worthless and was sold off as scrap. By chance, I met Black Jinkang at a slave market on Purple Origin Star and bought them.”

Long Jing said:

”Our Great Dragon Empire’s Genetic Evolution Research Institute frequently captures demon beasts from various places to study their genes, searching for stronger genes for evolution research.”

”Jing’er, have you heard that there are several Divine Dragons locked in the Genetic Evolution Research Institute, captured from Earth?”

Long Jing was startled and said:

”I’ve never heard of that. Are there dragons on Earth?”

”Yes. The Eldest Prince sent people to the sea to capture Divine Dragons, killing many of them. In the end, some were captured and transported to the Genetic Evolution Research Institute on Witch Star.

Among them, a few Divine Dragons belong to the father and brother of a friend of mine. If you go back to Witch Star and it’s convenient, please visit the Genetic Evolution Research Institute. If you can, improve the living conditions of the imprisoned Divine Dragons, pay a little attention to their care.

If the Genetic Evolution Research finds them of no research value, could you help get them out?”

”That’s no problem. When I return to Witch Star, I will certainly inquire at the Genetic Research Institute. I will definitely look after those Divine Dragons on your behalf as much as I can.”

”Great, thank you very much.”

Long Jing snuggled in Yang Xiao’s arms and laughed:

”It’s a small matter, why thank me?”

After they were satiated, they entertained themselves with Black Jinkang and the other demon beasts for a while before returning to a nearby spaceship.

Spending the night on the spaceship was safe, comfortable, and convenient.

The two enjoyed their own world to the fullest in the spaceship’s lounge.

.....

The next day, Yang Xiao piloted the spaceship to the Snow Lion Kingdom and found the Golden Lion King.

It was Long Jing’s first time seeing so many Snow Lions, and she felt very excited.

Especially in such an environment and atmosphere, compared to the valley of the gorillas, it felt more like entering a fairy tale world.

The Golden Lion King, along with his wife, children, and father-in-law, the Snow Lion King, warmly entertained Yang Xiao and Long Jing.

Long Jing thoroughly enjoyed this fairy tale-like world and couldn’t resist staying two more nights in the Snow Lion Forest.

Afterward, Yang Xiao took Long Jing to Fire Wolf City and other places.

Over the course of five or six days, Yang Xiao and Long Jing almost traveled half of Purple Origin Star, letting her experience the planet’s exotic culture.

”Yang Xiao, I never imagined that on Purple Origin Star, the natives and demon beasts could coexist so harmoniously. This world exudes a warm and peaceful feeling, compared to Witch Star, I think this place is better.”

Yang Xiao smiled slightly and said:

”Three years ago, Purple Origin Star wasn’t like this. At that time, people from Witch Star ruled this planet, controlling almost all the mines, employing miners from various places to extract minerals.

For the native tribes and demon beasts, it was mostly slaughter. Consequently, the natives and demon beasts constantly clashed with the Witch Star people for territory and resources, resulting in continuous bloody conflicts, with almost daily warfare.

The Witch Star people, with their powerful combat power, forced the natives and demon beasts to retreat step by step.

...

Ever since I reached a new crystal stone extraction agreement with the Witch Star people, the scene of daily warfare and slaughter has finally ceased to exist.

Now, the Witch Star people have acquired crystal stones, the local tribes have gained peace and development, and the living space of the demon beasts has gradually expanded.

This world can indeed foster peaceful coexistence among various species. Every species is an indispensable member of this planet. We shouldn’t, for some short-term benefit, infringe upon or even annihilate other species.”

...

As Yang Xiao spoke, scenes of Earth’s catastrophic disaster involuntarily surfaced in his mind, where over fifty to sixty billion people on Earth were killed overnight.

Even those who survived lost their loved ones, with everyone living in agony and despair.

Listening to Yang Xiao’s narration, Long Jing sensed a wave of hatred in Yang Xiao’s heart, herself suddenly taken aback.

The great disaster on Earth was part of Long Aotian’s Genetic Hunting Ground plan, exterminating billions as if they were ants. In retrospect, this indeed was an exceedingly brutal act.

Long Jing never cared about such grand concepts of life equality before, but now, her beloved Yang Xiao was implicated. His pain was her pain, forcing her to reflect on Long Aotian’s Genetic Hunting Ground plan along Yang Xiao’s line of thought.

”Perhaps, my brother indeed was too cruel to the people on Earth!”

Yang Xiao took a deep breath, looking at Long Jing beside him, speaking in a heavy tone:

”This pain is not just cruelty. Imagine if one day Witch Star endured the same fate as Earth, where over half the population perished overnight, and the survivors lost their parents, siblings, and friends. What would you feel then?”

Long Jing was speechless, bowing her head in silence.

...

Yang Xiao accompanied Long Jing, traveling around for five or six days. Tomorrow is the monthly crystal stone trading day on Purple Origin Star.

”Jing’er, we must return to Guangfu City tomorrow, as it’s crystal stone trading day. This is the first trading day after implementing the new crystal stone distribution plan, and I must be present on site.

I assume representatives from the various empires have also returned from Witch Star. I wonder what news they might bring back?”

Long Jing paused for a moment and said:

”My father has already accepted your new plan.”

”Oh! He must be unhappy, right?”

Long Jing gave a bitter smile and said:

”If it were you, would you be happy?”

”Are you not going to plead on behalf of your father? Considering your sake, I might reconsider.”

Long Jing smiled,

”Haha, am I so important in your eyes?”

Yang Xiao looked at Long Jing, holding her hand,

”You are more important to me than anyone else.”

”Then,”

Long Jing only said the word ”then” and stopped, looking at Yang Xiao.

She wanted to ask, then what about your girlfriend Xiao Ling at Flying Leopard Academy? Who is more important, me or her?

And what about your three wives on Purple Origin Star? Are they not more important than I am?

Long Jing had learned most of Yang Xiao’s circumstances on Purple Origin Star through Jino.

However, her heart no longer envied Yang Xiao’s relationships with other women, knowing that tomorrow Yang Xiao would be killed by Long Kui, leaving her no room to care about Yang Xiao’s affairs with other women now.

The current time was their final time together.

”Then? What?”

Yang Xiao asked.

Long Jing gently smiled, affectionately holding Yang Xiao’s arm,

”Nothing, I just wanted to ask, do you love me?”
