Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao unexpectedly sent Gong Yu flying with a punch, which greatly shocked Master Lei.

Gong Yu climbed up from the ground, his chest heaving with turbulent blood, a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth,

He really didn’t expect Yang Xiao’s punch to carry such immense attacking energy, exceeding his predictions. With his cultivation at the peak of the Empire Level Primary Realm, he actually couldn’t withstand it.

Gong Yu was indeed caught off guard just now. Before he finished speaking, Yang Xiao’s punch had already come at him, and he only used about 80% of his strength.

Gong Yu climbed up from the ground, let out a howl, his body shook, and he transformed into a werewolf five to six meters tall.

”Good kid, really impressive. Let’s see if you can defeat my Beast Soul.”

Gong Yu’s Wolfman Beast Soul let out a furious roar, its massive claws like two sharp steel talons, shattering the void as they clawed towards Yang Xiao.

When the claws were still tens of meters away from Yang Xiao,

suddenly, two enormous claw prints detached from the werewolf’s claws, directly flying through the air at more than twice the speed.

This is the werewolf’s soul skill, Flying Claw, which only appears at the Empire Level Realm.

The werewolf Beast Soul’s Flying Claw came so suddenly; it was the first time Yang Xiao encountered it, giving him quite a scare. Dodging was already difficult, and even with Instantaneous Movement, he couldn’t completely avoid it.

Yang Xiao instinctively activated his Defensive Light Shield, placing it in front of him.

”Bang!”

The massive werewolf Flying Claw struck the Defensive Light Shield, which instantly shattered.

Breaking through the Light Shield, the Flying Claw struck Yang Xiao’s body with a bang.

However, in that moment of space, Yang Xiao had already triggered the soul skill ”Defense Enhancement,” boosting his Defense attribute by 50%.

Yang Xiao’s Defense Value instantly increased from 104 points to 156 points,

not counting the defense from Defensive Armor.

”Bang!”

The two massive wolf claws slammed heavily against Yang Xiao’s chest.

Yang Xiao felt a stuffiness in his chest and staggered back three steps.

The two youths beside Master Lei, good friends of Gong Yu, immediately applauded when they saw Gong Yu’s Flying Claw soul skill hit Yang Xiao.

”Good!”

Yet, the two suddenly found it awkward.

Yang Xiao only retreated three steps,

Yes, just three steps.

Moreover, he didn’t appear injured at all.

This isn’t logical!

Gong Yu, as an evolver at the peak of the Empire Level Primary Realm, his beast soul’s Flying Claw, one strike could tear apart a small mountain peak, so why couldn’t it stop Yang Xiao?

The fact that it shattered Yang Xiao’s Defensive Light Shield shows there’s still a gap in their Genetic Evolution Levels.

Master Lei was once again astonished by Yang Xiao, mumbling to himself:

”Interesting, to have sent Gong Yu flying with one punch, and now to withstand Gong Yu’s soul skill, this is intriguing.”

On the distant open square, Gong Yu also felt surprised.

Damn it, how is it possible to withstand a full-force strike from me?

However, Gong Yu understood in his heart, being able to destroy Yang Xiao’s Defensive Light Shield indicates that he still has an advantage in his evolution level. What he must do now is continue attacking, find a flaw, and defeat Yang Xiao.

Gong Yu’s werewolf Beast Soul howled and charged at Yang Xiao again, his palms reversed, Flying Claws one after another breaking through the air towards Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao sneered, no chance you’ll get me off guard again,

with an Instantaneous Movement, drifted over ten meters to the left, extending a finger,

One Finger Splitting Earth!

Boom!

A gigantic cone emerged from the ground, flipping the earth beneath Gong Yu’s feet.

It was Gong Yu’s first time witnessing such a soul skill; taken by surprise, he was sent flying into the air by the massive force of the cone.

Nonetheless, Gong Yu, being a master with rich combat experience, landed a foot on the cone, borrowing the force to soar into the air.

At this moment, Yang Xiao also took to the sky, clawing at Gong Yu,

Five Finger Bursting Sky!

”Boom!”

An enormous claw cut through the air, seemingly tearing a hole in the sky, descending from above and enveloping Gong Yu within.

Master Lei and the two students beside him watched Yang Xiao’s soul skill in astonishment, speechless.

Yang Xiao clenched his hand, and the colossal claw in the air instantly closed.

The trapped werewolf Beast Soul roared, lightning-quick, pouncing on one giant finger, its palms conjuring a frenzy slashing fiercely.

Gong Yu wanted to use his Genetic Evolution advantage to shatter Yang Xiao’s soul skill.

Under normal circumstances, whoever’s Genetic Evolution Level is higher, their Combat Power would be higher, and that’s a given.

However, Gong Yu was up against Yang Xiao,

”Bang!”

A thunderous explosion echoed, causing the air in mid-air to fluctuate violently.

Gong Yu’s wolf claw hit one of the fingers of the Five Finger Sky Explosion soul skill.

The finger trembled, cracks spreading out,

However, it did not shatter or break.

Yang Xiao felt the blood and energy in his body surge. He gritted his teeth, clenched his palm into a fist.

Gong Yu was instantly grasped by the giant claw of Yang Xiao’s soul skill,

only to hear several cracking sounds as the crisp noise of breaking bones emanated from the Wolfman Beast Soul.

”Ah!”

Gong Yu’s Beast Soul let out a miserable scream.

”Spare him!”

Master Lei urgently shouted.

Yang Xiao smiled, released the claw, and withdrew the Five Finger Bursting Sky soul skill. The giant claw in mid-air vanished, and Gong Yu’s body fell from the air.

”Bang!”

Gong Yu crashed to the ground, creating a shallow pit.

The two youths beside Master Lei gasped in shock, and almost simultaneously rushed over, quickly helping Gong Yu up and feeding him two Big Blood Pills.

Yang Xiao hadn’t dealt a deadly blow. Otherwise, with a full squeeze, Gong Yu would have turned into minced meat.

Yang Xiao glanced at Gong Yu and chuckled:

”Sorry for offending you, but you won’t die. Rest for a couple of days and you’ll be fine.”

Gong Lei was completely defeated by Yang Xiao, with no objections, and was sincerely convinced, nodding dejectedly:

”I lost. Yang Xiao, your combat power is the strongest I’ve seen among the Empire Level Primary Level realm, deserving to be called the number one at this level.”

”Haha, I’ve never claimed such a thing. Brother Gong’s combat power is also quite impressive.”

After saying this, Yang Xiao turned to Master Lei and said:

”Master Lei, may I ask if I’ve passed this test?”

Master Lei stood up, laughed heartily, and said:

”Indeed, heroes emerge from the young. Bold and fearless like a newborn calf. Yang Xiao, your combat power greatly exceeded my expectations. Impressive! Impressive! Admirable!”

Master Lei was extremely pleased. After all, which mentor wouldn’t want to teach a few exceptionally gifted students?

A talented student often brings unexpected fame and status to a teacher.

Yang Xiao bowed deeply to Master Lei and said:

”Master Lei has praised me too much. In truth, it’s Brother Gong who showed leniency. I don’t have great skills.

By the way, have I passed the test then?”

”Haha, of course you’ve passed. From today onward, you are a contestant at Flying Leopard Academy for the Empire Level Primary Level realm. Train hard and strive to bring glory to Flying Leopard Academy.”

”Master Lei, besides bringing glory, are there any rewards or gifts? Like prize money?”

Master Lei paused, then murmured:

”Yang Xiao, can you not be so materialistic? As a young person, you should care for the world, save the masses, have ideals, and dreams.

Don’t let minor gains hinder your future!”

Yang Xiao thought to himself,

For goodness’ sake, just say there are no prizes, I’m not that desperate!

...

Great Dragon Empire, Imperial Palace rear courtyard,

Princess Jingjing sat quietly in the pavilion, watching servants amusing her son on the distant lawn, a heartfelt smile of happiness on her face.

An elderly man, led by guards, approached.

Princess Jingjing saw him, and promptly got up, walking out of the pavilion.

”Master Yuan, why are you here?”

”Your servant pays respects to Princess Jingjing!”

Master Yuan finished speaking and knelt down to kowtow to Princess Jingjing.

Princess Jingjing quickly helped Master Yuan up and said:

”Master Yuan, I’ve told you several times that you don’t need to perform courtly rituals when you see me. You are my mentor; I should be the one bowing to you!”

After speaking, Princess Jingjing bowed deeply to Master Yuan.

Master Yuan chuckled and said:

”Princess Jingjing, you’re too kind!”

After bowing to her mentor, the two sat opposite each other at the stone table in the pavilion.

The servants beside Princess Jingjing hurriedly came over to pour tea for Master Yuan.

Master Yuan took a sip of tea, looked at Jingjing, and said:

”Jingjing, the student exchange competition between Heavenly Dragon Academy and Flying Leopard Academy, held every two years, is about to start. This time, the academy hopes you will, as you did last time, participate in our team to defeat the Flying Leopard Empire and once again bring glory to Heavenly Dragon Academy and the empire.”

Princess Jingjing was taken aback and said:

”I’m currently confined in the Royal Garden. How can I participate in the student exchange competition?”

”No problem, our headmaster has visited the Emperor. Upon hearing about your situation, the Emperor has allowed you to leave the Royal Back Garden and return to Heavenly Dragon Academy to contribute to the student exchange competition.”

Princess Jingjing felt a jolt inside.

Didn’t Father forbid me from going out? He said if I secretly ran away, he’d break my legs. Now suddenly, I’m allowed to return to Heavenly Dragon Academy?
