Super Gene Hunting Ground

In the Advanced Academy Department of Flying Leopard Academy, a young man named Xiao He is sitting in a villa.

Yesterday, Xiao He witnessed the duel between Yang Xiao and Qin Xiaotian, and he was deeply shaken. In his view, Yang Xiao’s potential is far beyond just the Empire Level Primary Level. Given time, breaking through to the Empire Level Advanced is absolutely possible, and he might even reach the Emperor Level Realm.

Xiao He could see some clues from Yang Xiao’s stunning soul skills.

Xiao He walked out of the room and headed from the Advanced Academy Department to the Primary Academy Department.

According to the academy’s rules, students from the Primary Academy Department cannot enter the Advanced Academy Department, but students from the Advanced Academy Department can enter the Primary Academy Department.

Yang Xiao is now famous within Flying Leopard Academy, and all sorts of information about him are spreading widely. For example, Yang Xiao loves reading and has been spending most of his time in the library since joining Flying Leopard Academy over six months ago, especially on the first floor, which people usually don’t frequent.

So Yang Xiao has now become an ambassador for the library, drawing a large number of people to study there.

When Xiao He entered the first floor of the library, he wondered if he had come to the wrong place.

The previously deserted first floor of the library was now fully occupied, bustling with people.

Some people managed to find books with what seemed like Yang Xiao’s handwriting, highlighted passages, and so on.

”Look, this book must be one that Yang Xiao read recently. It even has highlighted parts with a red pen.”

A group of people immediately gathered, eager to take a look.

”How can you be sure it’s a book Yang Xiao read?”

”I saw him holding this book a few days ago, and besides, there aren’t usually many people reading on the first floor of the library.”

”Ah, that makes sense.”

...

Xiao He realized he definitely couldn’t find Yang Xiao here at the moment, and guessed that Yang Xiao probably didn’t dare go to the first floor of the library to read anymore.

...

At this moment, Yang Xiao was sitting in a room in the backyard of the library, surrounded by piles of various books on the desk.

The previous night at midnight, Yang Xiao went to the library to read, only to be surrounded by people demanding his guidance.

”Brother Yang, what should a person with low IQ like me read?”

”Brother Yang, what books do you usually read?”

”Brother Yang, your soul skills, cultivation techniques, and combat power must be related to the books you’ve read, right?”

”Nonsense, isn’t there a saying? The book you read yesterday and the cultivation technique you practiced are all reflected in your combat power today.”

...

Yang Xiao eventually managed to escape and quickly ran off to hide in Elder Ye’s little courtyard.

This place was absolutely quiet and also absolutely safe.

Yang Xiao even discovered that Elder Ye, like a watchdog, spent most of his time sleeping on a deck chair under a big tree at the courtyard’s entrance.

The image of a guard dog vividly came to his mind.

Of course, he wouldn’t dare shout it out even if he had the guts.

There are many people trying to find Yang Xiao.

Xiao Ling had gone to the library several times and hadn’t seen Yang Xiao, silently grumbling to herself,

”That dead Yang Xiao, where did he disappear to? When I find him, I’ll teach him a lesson for playing hide and seek, hmm!”

Yang Xiao had once gone to Yelu Caiyun’s villa at night, leaving a note on the door.

”I’m fine, no need to look for me for now.”

Seeing the note, Yelu Caiyun was frustrated for a long time and returned to Yang Xiao’s dormitory with Bing’er. Apart from a few blood-stained clothes on the floor, there was no sign of Yang Xiao.

”Sister Caiyun, don’t worry about my uncle. Since he left a note for you, he must be safe.”

Yelu Caiyun was not foolish, nodding as she said,

”Yang Xiao killed Qin Xiaotian, so he definitely has to guard against the Qin family’s people coming to assassinate him. Maybe the academy is hiding him for protection.”

Gao Lou, Chen Cangshan, and others wanted to invite Yang Xiao to a celebration, with the location already decided at Chen Cangshan’s villa. The attendees would be the twenty students who joined Flying Leopard Academy with Yang Xiao.

Many of them had placed bets, wagering on Yang Xiao to win, earning at least several million Crystal Coins, so everyone was ecstatic. With Yang Xiao’s defeat of Qin Xiaotian, even the simplest person knew what it meant for Yang Xiao’s future, which was undoubtedly promising.

Even those who hadn’t had much interaction with Yang Xiao before wanted to use this opportunity to get to know him better, at least to become familiar with him.

But now, they couldn’t find Yang Xiao anywhere.

”Damn it, Yang Xiao has pulled a vanishing act!”

”Have you asked Yelu Caiyun? She should know about Yang Xiao’s whereabouts, right?”

”We asked her, and she doesn’t know either.”

...

Xiao He returned to his villa and sat in the living room.

A young woman brought him tea and snacks before leaving, while a middle-aged man stood beside him.

”Young master, why are you looking for Yang Xiao? He’s only at the Empire Level Primary Level, and appears impressive just because of a Two-star Divine Weapon. We have plenty of such people around; it’s not worth your personally seeking him out.”

Xiao He glanced at the middle-aged man beside him, gave a faint smile, and said,

”Xiao Gang, when do you think I will be able to break through to the Empire Level Advanced realm given my current situation?”

The middle-aged man named Xiao Gang paused for a moment and said,

”Young master, given your abilities, if everything goes smoothly, you should be able to break through to the Empire Level Advanced realm in three to five years.”

”Heh, Xiao Gang, since when did you learn to lie?”

Xiao Gang’s face showed an awkward expression upon hearing this.

”It took me ten years, using so many resources, to get from the Empire Level Primary Level to Empire Middle Level. Now, to break through to the Empire Level Advanced, it will likely take twenty years at the very least.

Actually, staying at the academy no longer holds much meaning for me. But if I return, it seems I can’t achieve anything there and would have to face a group of people scheming against each other for power.

Rather than doing that, it’s better to stay at the academy, meditate quietly, and live leisurely, wouldn’t you say?”

The middle-aged man Xiao Gang bowed and said,

”Young master, you’re wise. In the path of Genetic Evolution, spending ten or twenty years is really nothing.

Many people spend forty to fifty years, even up to a hundred years, to break through to the Empire Level Advanced, so there’s no need for you to rush.”

Xiao He was silent for a moment before sighing and saying,

”It’s not that I’m rushing, but circumstances are pressing. The current undertow within the Empire is surging. Even though I remain uninvolved at Flying Leopard Academy, who knows when danger might come knocking on my door?”

”Young master, then what are your intentions with Yang Xiao?”

”I’ve learned that Yang Xiao, in just over half a year at the academy, has progressed from the King Level advanced to the Empire Level.

Furthermore, I personally witnessed his battle with Qin Xiaotian. It was extraordinarily impressive and deeply moving.

My intuition tells me that Yang Xiao’s future is incredibly promising. Establishing a relationship with such a talent is best done before they fully mature.

Especially now, with him having killed Qin Xiaotian, he’s surely drawn the Qin family’s pursuit.

If I could help him in his time of difficulty, he would naturally feel grateful to me.”

”Young master, what do you plan to do?”

”I originally intended to find Yang Xiao directly, get familiar with him, and offer him some help. But now, I can’t find even a trace of him, so I guess I can only look for Dean Xinghai. He should know where Yang Xiao is; maybe they have hidden him.”
