Super Gene Hunting Ground

By evening, everyone’s genetic profile test results were out.

Director Lu selected the data of the top thirty individuals with the most evolutionary advantage based on genetic testing results.

He then took out the data of the top thirty individuals ranked by combat power and compared these with the genetic testing results.

Generally, the top thirty individuals with innate genetic evolutionary advantage also have decent combat power, usually ranking within the top thirty as well.

After matching the two sets of criteria, Director Lu discovered a peculiar issue.

Yang Xiao, ranked first in combat power, could not be found in the genetic test data.

”What’s the situation?”

Director Lu sent two assistants to find Yang Xiao’s genetic profile, and they eventually found it discarded in a trash bin.

”Genetic profile unknown, predicted evolutionary value is zero.”

Director Lu was stunned at the words marked on the genetic testing profile.

Damn, the person ranked first by combat power has a genetic testing value of zero?

How could this be?

Director Lu approached the staff responsible for genetic profile testing, pointed to Yang Xiao’s genetic profile, and asked:

”What’s going on? Explain why the value is zero.”

The staff naturally didn’t know Yang Xiao’s combat power ranked first and said immediately:

”Director Lu, according to our previous experience, such unidentifiable genetic profiles basically have no value, typically belonging to the failures in normal evolution.”

Director Lu slammed the combat power test data of Yang Xiao onto the table and said loudly:

”Are you mistaken? This person has King Level Gene Advanced Realm, combat power of 4.5 meters—how can the genetic testing value be zero?”

”This?”

The staff looked at Yang Xiao’s combat power data and was dumbfounded, cold sweat pouring down his forehead. He thought, could it be my mistake?

The staff found the crystal piece smeared with Yang Xiao’s fresh blood again.

Each person’s crystal piece had a unique code.

After a careful check, this crystal piece indeed belonged to Yang Xiao.

The staff once again placed Yang Xiao’s blood sample into the testing apparatus.

”Beep beep,”

The device emitted an alarm, and the genetic profile on the screen matched exactly the one in front of them.

”What, what’s the situation?”

Director Lu and several of his subordinates were puzzled.

Ranked first in combat power, but the innate genetic profile’s test value was zero—what craziness is this?

”What is Yang Xiao’s Beast Soul?”

”On his record sheet, the Beast Soul column is marked ’unknown,’”

”Hmm?”

The crowd was startled.

Director Lu once again picked up Yang Xiao’s detailed record and swept through it; sure enough, the Beast Soul column said:

”Unknown.”

Yang Xiao felt he had not filled it in incorrectly; he truly did not know. Damn, it’s been three years since genetic evolution started, and I don’t even know what my Beast Soul is. Saying it out loud is laughable, even he didn’t believe it.

Someone slapped their head and said:

”Lord Lu, I’ve figured it out. This person’s Beast Soul hasn’t appeared, but his four genetic attributes are constantly improving. I reckon he’s using massive resources to forcefully boost his genetic evolution,

but if a person doesn’t have a Beast Soul, the genetic evolution value is indeed not significant. The Empire Level Gene is just his evolutionary ceiling.”

”What should we do now? Should we recruit Yang Xiao?”

Someone asked.

Everyone looked at Director Lu.

Director Lu pondered for a moment.

If Yang Xiao’s genetic evolution ceiling is Empire Level, recruiting him wouldn’t be very meaningful.

Those who come to Flying Leopard Academy for cultivation have breaking through to Empire Level Gene Primary Level as the basic requirement. Usually, after several years of special training, they can evolve to Empire Middle Level and High-Level, with very few talents breaking through to Emperor Level.

Cultivating Emperor Level talents is difficult.

Therefore, cultivating Empire Level Gene Advanced Realm super strong individuals has become the main training target of Flying Leopard Academy. Such super strong individuals can support the empire’s development and expansion.

...

During dinner time, the chubby Gao Lou specially sought out Yang Xiao to invite him for a drink.

Yang Xiao wasn’t averse to the straightforward and honest Gao Lou, plus Bing’er and Gao Lou could chat a bit, so Yang Xiao agreed.

The tavern across was too crowded, and Chen Cangshan and others were hosting two banquets in the main hall, Yelu Caiyun naturally being present.

To prevent Gao Lou from feeling disheartened, Yang Xiao voluntarily suggested going to another restaurant.

The three walked down the street, found a restaurant that was not too crowded, and booked a private room.

This time, Gao Lou did not order those expensive specialty dishes. Facing Yang Xiao, the combat powerhouse, he was somewhat aware of himself and dared not flaunt wealth anymore.

”Bing’er, feel free to choose what you want to eat, Fat Uncle is treating.”

Gao Lou placed the menu in front of Bing’er.

Bing’er, being just a child, randomly picked a few dishes.

Gao Lou then let Yang Xiao pick a few dishes, and he himself added two more, instructing the waiter to serve two pots of good wine.

After three cups of wine, Gao Lou’s conversation box opened up, condemning Yelu Caiyun for clinging to power and Chen Cangshan for using influence to tempt virtuous women.

Yang Xiao asked:

”I don’t think that Yelu Caiyun is from a poor family; she has somewhat a cold demeanor. Why did she throw herself at Chen Cangshan upon meeting him?”

Gao Lou raised a cup of wine, drank it with his head tilted back, and let out a long sigh, saying:

”Brother Yang, haven’t you heard of Cangshan City?”

Yang Xiao shook his head.

”Sigh, Brother Yang seems a bit uninformed,”

”Hmm?”

”Cangshan City is a big city. In Flying Leopard Empire, it’s considered one of the top ten cities, with a population over ten million. Chen Cangshan’s father being the city lord of Cangshan City naturally possesses vast wealth and high authority. Hearing Chen Cangshan’s identity, ordinary people can’t help but curry favor.”

”Caixia and I come from a small city, though considered wealthy locally, but compared to Chen Cangshan, we’re too far behind,

Caixia’s aptitude is average, making it difficult to enter Flying Leopard Academy for cultivation,

The Yelu Family, in Caixia’s generation, is already on the brink, not only lacking male heirs but also having low genetic evolution levels. The entire Yelu Family is nearly panicked.”

Yang Xiao nodded, having been familiar with the situations on Witch Star from his associations with David, Qin Yu, and Xingyun Piaoxue.

To have a foothold, a family must possess strong individuals, some super experts; otherwise, they can only look up to others and gradually face extinction.

Gao Lou drank another cup of wine, sighed, and said:

”Ah, Caixia is indeed unfortunate. Her entire family has pinned their hopes on her. If she can’t enter Flying Leopard Academy and break through to Empire Level Realm, the Yelu Family is doomed.”

”So upon hearing that Chen Cangshan’s father is the city lord of Cangshan City, Caixia immediately saw hope and befriended him, right?”

Yang Xiao asked.

”Yes, it should be like that. Caixia and I grew up together; I know her quite well. To fulfill the dream of restoring the Yelu Family, she can make any effort and sacrifice. Despite her combat power being only 3.6 meters, this achievement is a result of her day and night toil.”

”Still, with her achievements, entering Flying Leopard Academy is challenging.”

Yang Xiao expressed doubt.

”That depends on whether Chen Cangshan is willing to help her. I heard that Director Lu, who is responsible for admissions, is a life-and-death brother of Chen Cangshan’s father, with a very strong relationship.”

Yang Xiao suddenly realized that beneath Yelu Caiyun’s gentle and sweet exterior lay a frightening heart.

Anyone who encounters such a woman is doomed.
