Super Gene Hunting Ground

Master Gu Hai, a large number of Royal Guards have appeared outside the Genetic Store, and they’ve been stationed nearby. Occasionally, there are guards who enter the store under the pretense of buying things to check around. I don’t know what they’re trying to do?”

The subordinate reported to Gu Hai.

Gu Hai said casually:

”It’s nothing, other branches have reported the same, Royal Guards personnel have appeared at their doors. It’s the same situation as my Genetic Store, the Blacksmith Shop, the Elixir Medicine Shop, and the Equipment Store.”

”Do we need to do something about it?”

”No need. Just ignore them.”

”Understood.”

...

Gu Hai came to Yang Xiao’s room.

”Master Gu Hai, how are things outside now?”

”It’s not looking good. The entire Dragon City is under lockdown, and there’s a search everywhere. Even outside our Genetic Store, Royal Guards are keeping an eye. It seems you’ve really angered Long Aotian this time.”

”Does that mean I can’t leave on your spaceship?”

”That’s not a problem, I’ll make the arrangements. However,”

Gu Hai glanced at Bing’er and said:

”Are you planning to take this little girl with you?”

”Yes, I caused her to lose her only family. If I don’t take her with me, my conscience won’t be at ease.”

”Young Master Yang, you truly are a benevolent person. No wonder Great Elder Gu Bo favors you so much.”

”It’s what I ought to do. I initially wanted to give her a warm home and a bright future. Who would’ve thought my actions would backfire, and Long Aotian’s guards would tear down her home.”

Yang Xiao thought of Elder Zhan and Caixia, feeling deep sorrow in his heart, he said:

”Master Gu Hai, could I trouble you with a task?”

”Please tell me,”

”Could you send someone to help bury Bing’er’s grandfather and her Aunt Caixia?”

”It’s no longer necessary.”

”Why?”

”After you left yesterday, Long Aotian surrounded the slums with a large group and turned everything upside down, but couldn’t find you. In his fury, he set the slums on fire. Their bodies have likely been burned and can’t be found. Alas, pitiful are the hundreds of thousands of homeless poor.”

”Buzz!”

Yang Xiao felt a shock in his mind, staring blankly at Gu Hai.

”Set fire? Long Aotian actually set fire to burn the slums? That’s hundreds of thousands of poor people!”

Gu Hai sighed,

”Did you think Long Aotian is as kind-hearted as you are? He’s notorious for being ruthless, cruel, and vicious.”

”Wouldn’t his actions provoke public outrage?”

”Public outrage? In the eyes of the Great Dragon Dynasty, those mere hundreds of thousands of poor hold no value, their lives are as worthless as grass. No one cares about the lives of the poor. Even if they are all slaughtered, more will soon fill the void they left. This world does not lack the impoverished.”

”What about the Emperor of Great Dragon? Does he permit Long Aotian’s heartless act of burning down the slums with hundreds of thousands of people?”

Gu Hai looked at Yang Xiao and said,

”Young Master Yang, you come from Earth and don’t understand our Witch Star culture. On our Witch Star, we uphold the jungle law of survival of the fittest. The strong survive, the weak bow.

For the Emperor of Great Dragon, if he were to choose a successor from among the many Princes, he’d choose the one with the highest Genetic Evolution Realm and promising evolutionary prospects,

Because only strong martial power can ensure the Great Dragon Empire remains a strong force on Witch Star. So-called cruelty is sometimes just an extension of martial power,

Which empire’s growth isn’t accompanied by bloodshed and mountains of corpses? The Great Dragon Empire sacrificed hundreds of thousands of warriors and millions of civilians in its assault on the Snow Leopard Empire,

What do the hundreds of thousands in the slums count for?”

Yang Xiao listened and fell silent for a moment.

Earth was wiped out by Long Aotian and his people overnight, exterminating billions. Such cruel and insane acts he carried out, what do the hundreds of thousands of slum-dwellers count for?

”How many died in the slums?”

”Luckily, a Captain of Guards under Long Aotian showed mercy this time, giving the slum-dwellers an hour to evacuate, so the fire only destroyed the houses and dozens of those who couldn’t escape in time. Most weren’t burned to death.”

Yang Xiao let out a long sigh of relief. If those hundreds of thousands had been burned to death, he’d bear the heavy psychological burden of feeling it was his fault.

Yang Xiao was raised with kindness and altruism in Xuanming Country, and he truly couldn’t accept such cruel events.

”However, while these poor people narrowly escaped death, they’ve lost their homes and now face harsh conditions, homeless and struggling.”

Yang Xiao was stirred. He said,

”Master Gu Hai, could you help me with something?”

”Hmm?”

”This situation was caused by me, I want to spend money to help build houses for the poor so they have somewhere to live. Is that possible?”

Gu Hai felt a jolt inside him, looking at Yang Xiao.

There’s no ’charitable’ organization on Witch Star; rarely anyone performs large-scale acts of goodwill. The law of survival of the fittest is ingrained in everyone’s blood.

Only families mutually aid each other for certain purposes.

Yang Xiao’s idea of helping hundreds of thousands of poor people is simply unbelievable.

”Young Master Yang, you mean?”

Gu Hai asked with some uncertainty.

”I mean to rebuild the homes on the burned slum site, allowing everyone to live there for free. Do you think this is feasible?”

”Young Master Yang, you’re truly a person of great kindness. I greatly admire you, but building housing for hundreds of thousands will require substantial funding.”

”Approximately how much would it cost?”

”Around ten billion Crystal Coins.”

Gu Hai thought Yang Xiao might not have considered it fully and said it on impulse. Ten billion Crystal Coins is no small amount for anyone.

Yang Xiao took out a Black Crystal Card from his Space Ring,

”As long as Master Gu Hai can help me accomplish this, I’ll cover the cost. I can transfer ten billion Crystal Coins to you now, but later stages will require your careful attention.”

Gu Hai looked at the Black Crystal Card offered by Yang Xiao: ”...”

Is this kid just too wealthy? Not batting an eyelid at ten billion Crystal Coins?

Gu Hai paused briefly and said,

”Young Master Yang, are you really decided on spending money to rebuild the slums? This isn’t your responsibility, you can choose not to get involved.”

”How can I turn my back on hundreds of thousands of lives?”

”Very well, driven by your generosity and compassion, I’ll help you for certain.”

Gu Hai was somewhat excited. He’d lived over a hundred years and never seen such magnanimous kindness. He had witnessed too many treacherous people fighting life and death for millions or billions of Crystal Coins.

Even the Emperor of Great Dragon rarely performed acts of goodwill. In their eyes, everything revolves around self-interest; they spare no expense to secure talents that benefit them,

but, to the impoverished in the slums, those people are like specks of dust. They never cared about their lives nor would ever consider their livelihoods.

Yang Xiao’s benevolent act filled Gu Hai with powerful positive energy, stirring excitement within him.

Yang Xiao added,

”Actually, we can also build an elementary school in the slums, to offer education for their descendants. Only when they receive education can they gradually change their fate; otherwise, generation after generation will remain impoverished, stuck in cycles of poverty.”

Gu Hai nodded.

On Witch Star, class rigidity is far more severe than Yang Xiao’s Earth.

Genetic Evolution needs vast resources, and poor people lack Crystal Coins to improve their Evolution Level or to buy weapons equipment, forced into the lowest labor work to serve the privileged classes.

Even those with talent are buried, with few barely lucky enough to break through class barriers from poverty to nobility.

Yang Xiao encountered David Station Master, Qin Lu, Huang Mi, and others on Purple Origin Star. These families earned wealth through mining, constantly nurturing their young, fortifying family status.

Even such families tread carefully amid Genetic Evolution waves, never daring to be careless.

Yang Xiao establishing a Cultivation School can help the slum children develop Genetic Evolution space, help them grow, and give them essential skills,

They can use these skills to hunt monsters in the wild, gradually promoting their Genetic Evolution. Even if they can’t reach high levels, they’ll surely be better than now.

With foundational combat power, coupled with diligence and luck, they can step by step improve living conditions and change destiny.

”I’ll invest another ten billion Crystal Coins as funding for the training school, giving impoverished children a foundation. Those with exceptional Genetic Evolution Ability can be given more resources to accelerate their Genetic Evolution,

Master Gu Hai, do you think this is feasible?”

”Young Master Yang, your vision is truly magnificent, your breadth of mind makes me feel humbled!”
