Super Gene Hunting Ground

The guards of Aguda, who were engaged in battle, heard that their leader was injured and immediately flew over dozens of people to engage in a chaotic fight, desperately rescuing Aguda.

Warships from the Youming Empire flew over, firing intensely at Elder Qi and others, causing everyone to scatter and dodge.

Seizing the opportunity, Aguda’s guards took him into the warship and fled into the distance.

Hai Mu and Long Aotian both felt that continuing the fight would only deplete their troops without gaining any benefits, so both had the intention to cease fire and retreat.

Hearing that Aguda was injured, Hai Mu shouted to everyone:

”Everyone, retreat.”

Long Aotian also did not send anyone to pursue.

After Hai Mu and others escaped, Jino ordered a tally of the casualties and reported to Long Aotian.

”Reporting to the Prince, over sixteen hundred of our troops were killed, and more than three thousand were injured, while nearly two thousand of the enemy were killed.”

Long Aotian’s face was solemn, he nodded and said:

”Withdraw the troops back to Karachi City and immediately recall the troops from Pegasus City for defense.”

”Yes.”

Overall, in this battle, Long Aotian gained the upper hand by destroying the defense system of Snow Leopard City, which could not be restored in the current conditions for at least 3 months.

Additionally, they killed three thousand guards of Snow Leopard City and in the skirmish outside Karachi City, killed another two thousand guards of the enemy, totaling a Killing Aura of five thousand.

Long Aotian’s side lost nearly two thousand five hundred people, with casualties being half of the opponent’s, which could be considered a great victory.

However, ultimately, Long Aotian did not achieve the goal of defeating Hai Mu, as the combined forces of Hai Mu and Aguda still outnumbered him. Even with five thousand casualties, Hai Mu’s total troops were still slightly greater.

Nevertheless, since Snow Leopard City’s defense system was destroyed, they had to deploy many more guards for defense; thus, Aguda and Hai Mu could only defend temporarily and could not launch an offensive.

They feared Long Aotian would again sneak attack Snow Leopard City, causing massive casualties.

If each time the casualty ratio was 2:1, repeating the tactics a few times would cause a severe imbalance in troop strength.

”Aguda, you defend Snow Leopard City, and I will defend White Elephant City. Do not initiate any battles. As long as Long Aotian attacks any city, we will support each other and work together to deal with Long Aotian. Though a bit passive, this way we can ensure we remain unbeaten.”

This time, Aguda was defeated by Elder Qi, nearly losing his life, which greatly dampened his spirits and reduced his eagerness to attack Karachi City like before.

Aguda and Hai Mu agreed that, given the current situation, the best strategy was to stabilize and await changes on the main battleground of Witch Star. As long as the Youming Empire and Snow Leopard Empire joined forces to defeat the Great Dragon Empire, Long Aotian’s good days would end, and by then, super powerful beings from Witch Star would naturally come to help deal with Long Aotian.

In the chaotic battle, Long Aotian also realized Hai Mu’s prowess, as Hai Mu could rapidly rush to launch a sneak attack on Karachi City, indicating that Hai Mu himself could not be underestimated.

If it were not for everything going smoothly this time and they managed to return to Karachi City in time, even being half an hour late could have led to unthinkable consequences.

In the confrontation between the two armies, both sides had nearly equal strengths. It was unrealistic for Yang Xiao to crush the reinforcements of Hai Mu and Aguda in a short time.

After redistributing some strength to Pegasus City, Long Aotian also temporarily entered a defensive stage.

Both sides entered a defensive stage, leaving nothing much to do with each other.

However, Long Aotian knew that time was not on their side.

”Jino, we can’t just sit and wait like this with Hai Mu and others. They can afford to wait, but we can’t; time is in their favor.”

Jino nodded,

”What worries me most now is the main battleground on Witch Star. The alliance of the Youming Empire and the Snow Leopard Empire puts our Great Dragon Empire at a disadvantage. Once we lose on Witch Star’s main battleground, we will be in danger as well.”

Long Aotian sighed,

”You’re thinking the exact same thing as me; however, the current situation is difficult to break through. We both have equal strengths, but the opponent still has a slight numerical advantage. Do you have any solutions?”

Jino spread his hands,

”If even the Prince doesn’t have a solution, how could I have one?”

”You do.”

”Me?”

Jino looked at Long Aotian in surprise, not knowing what he meant.

Long Aotian smiled faintly and said:

”Isn’t the Barbarian Tribe your ally? If we can get the Barbarian Tribe to come and help us fight, we can immediately defeat Hai Mu and Aguda. Defeating Hai Mu would certainly encourage the warriors on the Witch Star battleground, helping the empire turn danger into safety.”

Jino muttered MMP inwardly, sighed helplessly, and said:

”Prince, you told me a few days ago to approach the Barbarian Tribe and ask them to send out ten thousand warriors. Sigh, actually, the Barbarians are no fools; their leader also sees through your intentions.

The Barbarian Tribe leader told me point-blank that you were trying to use them as a knife, letting the Barbarian Warriors and Hai Mu fight to the death while you sit back and watch the tigers fight, which naturally the Barbarian leader won’t agree to.”

Long Aotian’s face was somewhat awkward.

He was used to being arrogant and never considered the Barbarian Tribe’s tens of thousands in number as noteworthy. If the Great Dragon Empire wasn’t struggling on the Witch Star battlefield, he would have directly mobilized the five thousand elite soldiers from his Prince Manor, confidently wiping out Hai Mu.

Long Aotian’s expression was somewhat awkward, then he sneered and said:

”That’s right, I want the Barbarians and Hai Mu to fight each other to save the trouble of dealing with the Barbarians later. Even if the Barbarians see through my intention, so what?

Did not the Barbarian Tribe already submit to our Great Dragon Empire? Aren’t they our slaves? Shouldn’t they go to the front lines to kill enemies, contribute, and shed blood and sacrifice?

It’s their honor to relieve this Prince’s burden!”

Jino: ”...”

Long Aotian glanced at Jino, realizing he might have spoken too arrogantly, given the current situation is different. So, he picked up his cup, took a sip of tea, and smiled slightly, saying:

”Jino, you, being a High-Level General of the Empire for decades, loyal to the Great Dragon Empire, and having contributed significantly to the Empire, has the Empire treated you poorly at all?

Your annual salary and rewards could match that of an Imperial Prince, and your family also receives special care from the Empire. Now that the Empire is in trouble, you should help the Empire through the tough times,

otherwise, if the Empire falls, can you and your family still survive? Can you still enjoy those favorable treatments and comfortable days as before?”

What Long Aotian said was all true. Jino naturally knew that when the nest is overturned, no egg will remain intact.

If the Great Dragon Empire were truly defeated, leading to national ruin, there would be no good days left for him either.

Jino sighed and said:

”Prince, everything you said is correct. However, the Barbarian leader has a lot of disagreements with you, and it’s very difficult to ask them to send troops to help us again.

I had a hard time negotiating with the Barbarian Tribe before. Out of respect for me taking care of them, they helped me resist Hai Mu several times, sneak-attacked White Elephant City, destroyed their large transport ships, and killed General Qiu Feng.

For the Barbarians to achieve this is already quite loyal, but... sigh!”
