Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 32: Chapter 32 - Black powder fan

Muchen’s lips rose in a small smile. He hurriedly hid it with a cough. ”Let’s head in...” As he did so, he kept glancing back at a certain direction.

The young man’s head was slightly poking out from the crowd. Even though he tried his best to hide, he could not conceal his tall frame behind those short, cute girls.

Muchen chuckled. ’Fuck... he is fucking cute.’ He cupped his face, hiding his bright smile.

”Muchen? Are you okay? Is your head hurting?” Shao gently shook his shoulders.

”I’m good.” Muchen glanced at him with a soft smile. ”Did the fans arrange this meet spontaneously?”

”Hmm, the fan club president notified it in their group to surprise you. But standing in front of a hospital is not a good thing; these kids still have a lot to learn.”

Muchen could not control his grin. ’Only my fans knew... so he is my fan...’

’He really hid it so well.’

Every time he met Yunfeng, that kid acted like he hated him to the core. He would do anything to put a bit of distance between them. Muchen was confused as to why he behaved this way.

But everything made sense right now.

Because Yunfeng was his fan.

No, he was not the normal kind of fan.

Yunfeng was a black powder fan.

Muchen nodded to himself. He had seen black powder fans before. They cuss out their idols in hopes of getting their attention. That was all Yunfeng had been doing. He had been acting like he couldn’t tolerate him to get his attention.

He really succeeded in getting his attention, that’s for sure.

”It’s cute...” he mumbled, pinching his nose.

”Huh? The nurse?” Shao gazed around. ”Muchen, don’t say that out loud. What if someone misunderstands?”

Muchen pushed his ugly face away. ”When is the surgery scheduled?”

Shao gaped at him. ”Today! Today. What is wrong with you, huh?” He cupped his face and looked at him from all directions. ”Look, you’re smiling again! What is going on with you? Is your tumor supposed to impact your brain... fuck, I need to ask the doctor.”

”Don’t act silly.” He pushed his hand away. ”They are taking out the lump today? Is it going to hurt?”

”No, they are only doing a needle biopsy today. After that, they will check if the tissues collected are cancerous and will start chemotherapy if so.” Shao held him onto his hospital bed. ”It’s just a needle; it won’t hurt, don’t be scared, okay? I will be with you throughout this.”

Muchen gave him a disgusted look. ”Am I a kid? Why would I be scared of needles?”

”But my darling Muchen, you cried yesterday. I’ve never seen you cry before...” he gently pinched his cheeks.

Muchen rolled his eyes. ”Who said I cried, huh?”

”Your swollen eyes are a great proof you sobbed like a baby.” Shao picked up the apple on the table and started to peel it. ”I will protect you... so don’t be scared.”

He gazed up at him with a soft smile. ”I know... thank you.”

”Why are you taking me all of a sudden?” Shao rolled his eyes. ”Give me a bonus. Show me the cash.” He playfully hit his shoulder.

”Fine, you’ll get a hefty year-end bonus.”

Shao grinned brightly. ”Thank you, boss~” He happily went back to peeling the apple.

Muchen looked at him with a soft smile. This guy had been with him through all his desperate times. He didn’t have to, but he did. ’I’m glad... at least he stuck around.’ He gazed at the apple in his hand. The poor guy was peeling it with a knife clumsily. ”I’m supposed to fast today.”

Shao froze. ”Why didn’t you tell me before? I almost finished peeling it!” He showed him the ugly apple that was shaved down to the core.

”God, you have no skill when it comes to cutting.”

”Tsk, you picky guy.”

The biopsy only took an hour and a half, and Muchen was rolled out of the operating room in a half-dazed state.

”Is he okay? Is he feeling good?” Shao hurriedly ran to the doctor.

”Everything went well. We have only taken the biopsy right now. It will be sent to the labs for testing. We will get the results in a day.”

”Oh, thank God. Thank you, sir. Thank you,” Shao grabbed the doctor’s hand and kissed it.

”Umm, that’s unsanitary...” the doctor just gaped at him.

”S-sorry...”

He then ran to Muchen’s room hurriedly.

Muchen was softly sleeping on the stark white bed. His pale pink lips were slightly open.

”It’s good that you’re not in pain,” Shao ticked him in and sat by his bedside.

But they had an unexpected guest late in the evening.

Shao glared at her intently. ”Muchen is resting. The doctor suggested that he doesn’t have any visitors. So, I can’t let you in.”

The middle-aged lady gently caressed her blown-out hair. ”Why are you acting so, Shao? I’m only here to see my nephew, not eat him alive.” Chuckling, she handed him a fruit basket and tried to walk past him into the room.

”No, I won’t allow you in,” Shao stretched his arms out and stood there protectively.

She just raised a brow. ”I’m his legal guardian. Why can’t I see him? This is absurd. Shao... why are you being so...” she started to fake cry.

Shao rolled his eyes. ”It’s doctor’s orders.”

The lady raised a brow. ”I just talked to his doctor; he said he can have visitors. Shao, are you lying to me?”

Shao gritted his teeth. ”I...”

”Let her in,” a soft voice came from inside the room.

The lady’s eyes brightened. ”Chen ah,” she pushed him out of the way and dashed in. ”I missed you so much, Chen ah. Why didn’t you tell me you were sick? I would have been by your side...” she gently touched his face.

Muchen gazed up at her dully. ”What are you doing here?”

”Of course, I’m here to see you. Here, I’ve brought you some abalone soup. It’s good for your health.” She placed a hot pot on the bedside table.

Muchen peered at her with interest. ”What do you want?”

”Oh, Chen ah, what are you talking about? I’m here to nurse you to health.”

”Not to kill me,” he picked up the hot box. ”Shao!”

”Here,” Shao protectively stood in front of him.

”Get this to the lab. I want to see if it has poison or not.”

”On it,” Shao took the box and ran out.

The lady’s face paled visibly. ”Why would I try to poison you? You are my precious...”

”Oh, cut out the act. I know you want all the wealth for your son. But you could have at least learned how to be a method actor ’cause you suck. Big time.” He laid back down comfortably on the soft bed.

”Muchen, you are going overboard. When did I ever...”

”When haven’t you tried to kill me? When I was five, you pushed me down the stairs. When I was ten, you tried to run me over with your car ’accidentally,’ might I add. When I was fifteen, you tried to sell me to an old director. Ah, should I go on or should I stop?”

The lady’s smiling face cracked. ”You fucking bitch. You deserved all that,” she said in a soft whisper. ”You tried to steal it all.” She grabbed his wrist tightly, digging her nails into his skin.

”Ah, you’re funny. Those fancy clothes you wear and those fancy jewels you flaunt around are all mine. Or did you forget how you stole my parent’s inheritance? Stop acting hypocritical.” He pushed her hands away.

She shot up, ready to leave.

”What? You’re leaving so soon? Aren’t you here to see the finale?”

”Huh?” She stared back at him.

Muchen held up his phone and shook it in front of her face. ”I have a surprise for you~ I hope you love it~ my dear darling aunt~”
