Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 25: Chapter 25 - Instant karma

After saying his piece, the audacious waiter walked into the restaurant while he stood outside, gritting his teeth. Who is he to tell me to stay away? So, what, he just has a video? My reputation is already in the trash! Grumbling, he walked back in.

To his surprise, his eyes fell on a slumped figure near the kitchen.

Yunfeng... He walked toward him, but something told him it wasn’t right to approach him.

As he got closer, he noticed the young man’s lower lip trembling slightly as he clutched the serving tray.

Is he... crying? Shit, it must be his arm. He rushed to him and held his shoulders. ”Does it hurt? Why did you come to work if you’re going to cry about the pain? You need to take bed rest.”

Yunfeng’s tear-filled eyes peered up at him. ”Don’t touch me...” he weakly pushed him away. ”Just... just what do you want? Cleaning charge? I’ll pay it. Just leave me alone.” He sniffed slightly.

A single tear slipped down.

Muchen panicked. Shit! Shit! He hurriedly wiped his face with his sleeve. ”You don’t need to pay. Insurance will cover it. You...”

The young man stepped back. ”Then why are you bothering me at my workplace? I got my pay docked... I worked so hard to earn that money, and now I don’t have enough. You won’t know this, but do you know how costly rice is? It’s so hard to buy a single bag. I have to stay up so many nights to save that money, and... you... you...” He started to sob silently.

”Wait, money. You want money here,” he took out his wallet, but only black cards shone brightly. He shoved a black card into his hand. ”Here, you have money now. Don’t cry.”

Seeing the guy cry made him feel like shit. He didn’t want to make anyone’s life worse. He just wanted to check if he was healthy, but when Yunfeng gave him attitude, he went a bit too far and bullied him slightly.

”It’s all my fault. I’m so sorry.”

Yunfeng dropped the card. ”I don’t need your money. Just leave.” He pushed him out of the way and walked into the server’s room.

The blond guy who had threatened him came out of that room right at that moment. Seeing Yunfeng sobbing, he hugged him and pulled him in.

!!!! He hugged him! That bastard! He’s taking advantage of a little boy! How dare he! Muchen tried to rush into the changing room, but the floor manager kindly stopped him.

Muchen gazed at him and then at the door. ”He didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t dock his pay. I wish to give him a tip as well. Can you bring your swiping machine?” He said quickly.

The floor manager gazed at him doubtfully and then brought the card machine.

Muchen hurriedly swiped. ”I gave him a five-hundred-dollar tip. Make sure it gets to him... and he’s wounded. Don’t make him do heavy work.”

”Sir, we treat our servers with the utmost respect. We will take care of the management of our restaurant,” the floor manager said with a smile.

Muchen gazed at him with a frown. ”I’m just saying you must not give him heavy work. He...”

Another waiter ran to the floor manager and whispered something into his ear.

”Sir, I would kindly ask you to leave,” he said with a smile.

Muchen shook his head. ”Why? I didn’t do anything.”

”Sir, you are causing unrest between our employees. We do not tolerate rude customers, so I would ask you to leave,” the manager guided him to the door.

Muchen was once again kicked out.

He stood outside dazedly. Did I just get kicked out? He was ready to storm in and demand an explanation when a loud honk distracted him.

His manager honked from his car. ”Come in before you get noticed!” He shouted.

Gritting his teeth, Muchen ran to the car and jumped in. He anxiously fidgeted with his phone.

”What did you do this time?”

”Huh?” Muchen gazed at him dazedly.

”I know that look. It’s your ’I spilled the milk’ look. What did you do this time? Come clean so that I can clean up after you,” he said through gritted teeth.

Muchen blankly looked ahead at the road and told him the entire story. ”He was crying... and that bastard hugged him. Fuck.” He punched the glove box.

Shao just looked at him in shock. ”What did you say? You made the kid cry?! Oh, my fucking god, Muchen! Won’t you ever keep your mouth shut? You bullied the kid into crying!!!”

Muchen froze. ”He wasn’t crying because of that... that stupid floor manager docked his pay. How can they do that to a wounded person? He was walking around with a cast for god’s sake. They should have been considerate, but instead, they docked his pay. What kind of world do we live in?”

Shao’s eyebrows twitched. It’s because you brought so many soups and didn’t drink any... You are the main cause, buddy. But he didn’t say that out loud. ”Anyway, I already got all the info from the cops. Now it’s time to clean up your name.”

Muchen didn’t even listen to him. He hunched over, hugging his stomach.

”Are you even listening to me?”

”Mnn...” Muchen groaned.

”You just need to put on a pitiful face and show it to the media. We have all the proof that points to your aunt. Even if we can’t convict her, we can definitely bring down their company’s stock. It’s the best outcome. When they’re down, they’re bound to make mistakes. We’ll definitely catch it.” He gazed at him.

Muchen was still hunched over.

”Are you okay?”

Muchen groaned loudly this time. ”Hurts... it hurts.”

”Huh?”

”My stomach hurts!”

The manager laughed out loud. ”Instant karma? Oh my god, this is hilarious. Who knows, that kid must have spat in your soup. That’s why you don’t cross your waiter, ha-ha.”

”Shut up... it hurts too much,” his face was pale.

”Shit, you’re pale as a ghost...” He placed a hand over his forehead. It was burning up. ”Fuck, you’re sick.” He hurriedly drove to the nearby hospital.
