Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 30: Chapter 30 - He’s good

Lin Yunfeng washed his eyes and plopped onto his bed. All that crying left his eyes swollen like he was bitten by a bee. It was so hard to even open them properly. ”Disadvantages of being Asian,” he mumbled with a small chuckle.

Suddenly, the door banged open, and his sister barged in with her swollen eyes wide open.

’How is she even opening her eyes that big after all that crying?’ he sat up, looking at her curiously.

She pranced around like a pregnant hen and suddenly squatted on the ground, holding her phone close to her chest. ”Oh god. Why did he have to suffer like this? Oh god, why? Why did you make him suffer?”

Yunfeng raised a brow. ”Who are we even talking about here? Give me some context?”

”Muchen! My darling Muchen has led such a depressing life... why are people so mean to him?”

Yunfeng slightly froze. ’W-what? What about him? He’s a rich and haughty guy. In what way is he suffering?’

He scoffed softly, even when an assassin came after him for his life. The guy gave a crazy smile and drove the car down the flight of stairs. A person like that would never feel depressed, right? He would have just shaken it all off and casually smiled.

A pillow hit him smack on the face.

”How dare you? Just because he is rich doesn’t mean he is happy. Do you know how much he has suffered in his twenty-five years of life? He lost his parents, and then his aunt started to torment him for his inheritance. It was physical and mental torture!” she shouted, then ran out of the room.

”She’s finally lost it....”

Yunfeng didn’t even want to lament about this conversation, to be honest. He frowned as he gazed at the door and picked up his phone that had buried itself in the blanket.

”What can a guy like Muchen suffer? He is a freak...”

He wasn’t following any celebrity news, so he didn’t get any notifications, but when he searched his name, recent news popped up.

It was a picture of himself and Muchen hugging each other.

Yunfeng shot up straight. ”Fuck!! What the hell is this...”

He hurriedly clicked the news.

The rolling pin incident and the bullying incidents were cleared up by the cops. The investigation was finally complete, and they were able to find the culprit, so the full CCTV video was released to the public. In it, they could clearly see Muchen trying to protect someone and finally fighting back the gunned assailant.

The cops had blurred his face in the video, but Yunfeng could definitely make out how bad a state Muchen was in. That day was his first-ever heat, and that was precisely when he got shot, so he was physically and mentally very weak.

If Muchen had left him in that alley, he would have definitely died.

The investigation concluded that the assailant was furious that his girlfriend was a fan of Muchen and tried to attack him.

Frowning, Yunfeng gazed at his phone. ”Are those cops idiots or what? How can a normal citizen get a hold of a high-class gun like that?! Fucking hell, this is pissing me off.”

Even as a future citizen, he knew that the gun the assailant used was definitely high-tech for this time, and the way the man drove his car was not like a normal citizen would. It was too perfect. He could not have been a normal vengeful boyfriend, as the news claimed. He was definitely part of a group of highly trained assassins.

Yunfeng plopped back on the bed, massaging his swollen eyes. ”He said his aunt did it... Why did the cops not find any proof regarding that?”

He scrolled down the report, but he could not find anything worth it.

He quickly exited the forum but soon came across a very active post titled ”The Backstory of Ren Muchen’s Acting History.”

His curiosity was piqued. After a moment of hesitation, Yunfeng clicked on it.

Apparently, Muchen was the only heir of the famous tech company Renteck, but after his parents died in a freak accident when he was five years old, he left the business scene and entered the entertainment industry. He worked for twenty years, but only recently did he gain fame and a following. His films all had an award or two.

The person who posted this speculated that Ren Muchen was not famous because of his aunt’s interference. But there was no proof regarding it.

Yunfeng frowned slightly.

He scrolled down to read some of the comments. All the comments were from crazed fans raving about how Muchen’s films were always amazing and how his acting was captivating enough to steal a person’s soul.

Yunfeng rolled his eyes. ”It can’t be that good...”

His curiosity was piqued once again. He exited the forum and went to Netflix to find a few of his movies.

By now, Muchen had acted in at least fifty movies, most of them as the main character.

He clicked on the most recent one and started to watch it with disinterest.

But to his surprise, he got hooked.

The movie was so good, and Muchen’s acting was really on par with the character.

It ended before he could realize it, leaving him on an emotional rollercoaster.

”That can’t be... That movie was good. Why were the reviews so bad?”

He clicked on the next recent movie.

Afterward, he was left astonished. He spent the entire night watching Muchen’s movies, completely engrossed in his acting.

Every frown, every smile of the said man captivated his soul, leaving him slightly flushed and bothered.

By dawn, he was left even more confused.

”The post is right... He is good at acting, and someone might actually be trying to stunt his growth. Wonder how he felt...”

He had seen that guy show a crazed expression, but he had also seen him show that dark expression.

Back in the restaurant, for a second, Muchen let go of his cheerful personality, showing his tired and weak face.

”His crazed expression might all be an act... maybe... maybe he is just a lonely guy... Fuck, I feel like shit for talking smack about him.”

He massaged his aching temple.
