Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 13: Chapter 13 - Dragged into a mess

Yunfeng pushed away his annoying hands. ”You strangled me first!” This fucking crazy guy was the one who started this, and now he was accusing him of attempted murder?!

Muchen glared at him with a cold smile. ”You’re so dead, bastard. Just you wait.”

Even that malicious expression weirdly looked so... sexy.

’Sexy? No, no, no... not this guy. I don’t like him.’

Yunfeng’s heart started to pound loudly in his chest. ’Stop! Ah, why are you pounding so fast for this perverted bastard? He is not worth it!’ He patted his chest with a deep frown.

Suddenly, a heavenly scent of rose hit Yunfeng’s nostrils.

He instantly closed his nose and backed away from him. ”You bastard! Why are you letting off your pheromones!” He hit his shoulders.

Muchen gazed at the crazy guy wordlessly.

”Muchen! Are you okay?” A small shout pulled all their attention to the shattered phone on the ground.

Muchen eagerly moved it closer with his feet. ”Shao? You still there? That bitch has gone the extra mile, hiring a gunman. Can you believe it?”

”What! I’ll call the cops. Just stay safe.”

”I bet the cops will not reach on time,” he said, cursing under his breath.

The shooter is audacious enough to attack me in a public space like this.... It was highly likely that he has powerful backing. This made him think of that man his aunt had been meeting recently. His background was mysterious; even after they did some digging, they were not able to find anything about him.

”I think my dear darling aunt is involved with a gang boss.”

Glancing to his right, he noticed the boy’s gaze. ”And I got some civilians involved. How soon can you get our trained bodyguards here?”

”Fuck you, Muchen, you asked me to leave them.... It will take a while... I’ll arrange something. Just stay safe. That shooter might not be the only person involved in this,” Shao said in a frustrated tone.

Muchen cut the call with a frown. ”You both sit tight. I’ll run out of here. That guy is after me, so he won’t do anything to you,” he half stood up before a hand grabbed his blazer and dragged him down unceremoniously.

”Are you crazy! You will get killed. That guy is a skilled sniper. Just stay put. I’ll find a way to save us.” Lin Yunfeng bit his lips hard, thinking of all the ways to escape from this situation.

He had seen sniper guns in museums before. Jai had been crazy about them, so his dad had dragged him over there multiple times.

’What do I know of the weapon... Is there any weakness...’

With his eyes tightly closed, he thought about everything that Jai had excitedly muttered.

”This is the legendary sniper gun. Do you know during that Terra virus outbreak these weapons came so much in handy? They would stay on the city walls and shoot them down. But these barrels could only contain 12 bullets at a time. Reloading is also kind of finicky. That was why it went obsolete.”

Yunfeng opened his eyes with a bright grin. ”Yes, that’s it! It can only hold 12 bullets at a time. It would at least take a few seconds for him to reload.” He looked at the two figures beside him.

”That doesn’t give us enough time to escape, silly kid.” Muchen adjusted his coat. ”I’ll take care of my problems on my own. I don’t need a hairless kid intervening.”

Yunfeng slammed a hand on his chest and held him down. ”Listen, I’ve got a plan. It will work. But we have to work together. Do you know how to drive?”

With a frown, Muchen nodded. ”What plan?”

”Just trust me,” Yunfeng grinned up at him.

For a second, Muchen froze. An overwhelming scent of oranges filled his nostrils. He moved back a bit, putting distance between them. ”How can I trust a stranger?”

”Well, I poured out your poisoned soup; technically, I saved your life once. I can do the same again. Just follow me. We can survive this,” Lin Yunfeng then faced his best friend, who was clinging to him like a cute koala. ”Jai...” he shook him.

Jai stiffened up and tightened his hold on him.

”Jai!”

Jai shook his head in fear.

Sighing, Yunfeng pinched his cheeks hard. ”Snap out of it. I need you to be my rock here, buddy. You can’t lose yourself right now.”

Jai blinked up at him with tears in his eyes. ”I... I’m scared.”

”You don’t have to be. I will save you.” He gently patted the red marks on his cheeks. ”Only look at me. Only listen to me.” He peered into his fear-filled eyes.

Jai hesitantly nodded. ”What should I do?”

”When I count to three, I want you to run...” he looked around. There was a huge cherry blossom tree quite close to them. ”There. Run there.”

Jai looked at the tree and shook his head. ”I’ll get shot.”

”No, you won’t. I’ll distract him. Just make a run for it when I count to three, got it?”

Jai bit his lips and nodded. ”Fuck, if I die here, no one will take notes for you.”

”I know, so I will make extra efforts to keep you safe, okay?” He smilingly patted his shoulders.

Jai relaxed a bit.

Lin Yunfeng moved in with his plan. He first removed the bag off his back and gestured for Jai to do so as well. He tied them both up. ”Give me your blazer,” he patted Muchen’s chest again.

The man pushed away his hand and glared his way. ”Why?”

”Just give it.” He tugged at the collar.

”Keep your grubby hands off of me.” He scowled as he removed it. ”You better return it intact. It’s a loan, and I have to send it back.”

Yunfeng awkwardly smiled up at him. ”I’m sorry in advance.” He wrapped the bags in his blazer and lifted it up so that the sniper could see it through the car windows.

Instantly, a barrage of bullets shot at the bag.

”Now! Jai, run to the tree!!”

Jai scrambled up and ran. The shooter was too focused on the bag to shoot at Jai with precision. That was also one of the disadvantages of long-range weapons.

Jai made it safely behind the tree.

”Yun! Come here! Fast!”

Yunfeng grinned softly. ”I’ll be right there, okay? Just stay safe.” He then glanced at Muchen.

The star, in turn, looked his way. ”Why didn’t you leave?” He whispered with an unsure look in his eyes.

”It’s not safe to run anymore. That guy knows we will try to trick him.” Yunfeng leaned down and plucked a shoe off Muchen’s feet and tossed it to the side.

As he had expected, it too was assaulted by an array of bullets, leaving it torn and in shambles.

Muchen just gaped at it. ”Why didn’t you throw your own shoe?”

”I’m not wearing socks.” He waved his dirty shoes on his feet.

Muchen gritted his teeth loudly. ”You’re a fucking asshole.”

”This asshole is saving your life right now, buddy. Be a little bit grateful.”

”I am trying to be,” Muchen grumbled, peering at the slender hand on his chest. Weirdly so, he did not feel any form of disgust when this guy touched him today. Maybe it was because of the imminent danger they were in, or maybe it was that tantalizing orange scent.

Muchen gulped loudly. ”S-so what now? What is your grand plan?”

”Wait for him to run out of bullets.”

As soon as he heard this, Muchen looked at him in disbelief. ”What the heck? That is your plan?”

”Yeah,” Yunfeng plucked another one of his shoes and tossed it to the sky.

A single bullet hit it right in the middle, tearing the leather soles apart.

”I swear if you are playing with me like this, I...” Muchen grabbed his shirt in frustration.

”Now! Get in the car!” Yunfeng dragged him up and pushed him into the car. ”Drive, drive, drive!” As he was about to close the door, Muchen grabbed his hand and pulled him in.

Eyes wide open, Yunfeng gazed at him. ”What the fuck? Why did you drag me in?”

Muchen did not know how to explain it.

He really did not mean to! His body moved on its own!!!

It was like instinct. He felt the need to pull him. The need to get close.

His whole body started to sweat profusely.

”Fucking start the car!” The boy’s shout pulled him out of that blank state.

Muchen hurriedly started the car and drove off. Bullets came flying their way, but thankfully they had driven away.

Yunfeng sighed loudly, leaning against the seat. ”That was a ride... wow, I never thought those ancient weapons could even do this much damage.”

That annoying guy looked at him unblinking.

”Look at the road and drive.”

”How did you know? Did my aunt send you to gain my trust? If you are working for her... I’ll pay you double. Work for me.”

Frowning, Yunfeng glared at him. ”What do you think I am?”

”A spy? A bodyguard?”

Yunfeng shook his head, flabbergasted. ”I’m a high school student!”

”Eh?” Muchen looked his way with his eyes wide open. ”A school kid? You? ..... You do look small.....”

”I’m not small! I’m.. I’m just growing.” Yunfeng held up his hand. ”Look, I have arm hair. Oh, and I’m not hairless down there. I have hair on my balls!”

”That’s too much information.” Muchen chuckled softly.

His laugh sounded so... good.

Yunfeng’s heart rate went up a notch. He patted his chest loudly. ”I am not a spy for that green dress lady. I just work part-time there. I saw her putting something in the soup. I changed it and gave you that note. That’s it.”

”How did you deduce it was poison?”

A normal human being can’t distinguish the smell of cyanide as it is odorless to them. But Yunfeng could smell it.

He couldn’t say the truth without sounding crazy.

”I’ve seen a lot of movies, okay. Ladies like that kill their husbands and take their money.” He shrugged.

Muchen nodded with a soft grin. ”That is her plan as well. She has been trying to kill me ever since I was ten. It was fun trying to guess that snake’s plans. But that bitch went too far this time. She almost killed your friend. I can’t forgive her for that,” he grinned coldly.

The tantalizing scent of roses spread in the car much more potently.

Yunfeng closed his nose tightly. ’People in this world do not have three genders, then how does this guy have so much pheromone... fuck...’ His whole body trembled slightly. His third leg, which had been a dormant volcano, was growing in size.

”You have a good eye spotting that guy.” Muchen placed a hand on his head and messed up his short hair. ”Good job, kid.”

Yunfeng pushed his hand away, blushing. ”Just watch the road and drive, you ass!”

”And there goes the good vibes. Kids shouldn’t cuss like that,” he said with his brows raised.

Yunfeng peered at him with a pout. ”I’m not a kid! I’m eighteen! I.. I drink!”

Chuckling, Muchen drove slowly. ”Well, go get a healthy soup and go home. I’ll take care of things here.” He slowed down beside the curb.

All of a sudden, someone blackened them hard.

Yunfeng instantly placed a hand on Muchen’s chest and kept him secure. ”Seat belt!” he growled.

Muchen hurriedly wore his seat belt. ”Which fucker did that. This is a limited-edition car....”

Yunfeng gazed at the reflection in the rear-view mirror. ”The shooter. Drive, fast!”
