Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

The battle erupted instantly.

Wu Xuan, the Wind Branch Chief, launched the first attack, clearly furious at the joint offensive from the Lin and Fire Branches. He unleashed his full power without any hesitation, his fierce momentum enough to terrify ordinary Samsara Stage experts.

Wu Sen’s expression changed slightly, but he soon sneered inwardly, clearly unwilling to directly confront Wu Xuan. He swiftly transformed into countless afterimages, retreating rapidly.

Wu Sen was well aware of Wu Xuan’s strength. In earlier years, Wu Ju, the prodigy of the Wind Branch, had overshadowed everyone, but if not for Wu Ju’s dazzling brilliance, Wu Xuan would have also been recognized as an extraordinary genius in his own right.

Over these years, because of Wu Ju’s imprisonment and the subsequent decline of the Wind Branch, Wu Xuan had stepped up at the critical moment, breaking through to the Samsara Stage and shouldering the responsibility. Without him, the Wind Branch might have collapsed entirely, even without interference from the Lin and Fire Branches.

Thus, even Wu Sen knew he couldn’t guarantee victory against Wu Xuan. However, that didn’t matter; his primary goal was simply to stall Wu Xuan. The true key to victory lay in the other platform.

”Wu Xuan, you’re indeed impressive, but unfortunately, your Wind Branch doesn’t seem to have an advantage elsewhere,” Wu Sen mocked while evading Wu Xuan’s furious attacks.

Wu Xuan glanced towards the other white jade platform, and his heart immediately sank. The situation had unfolded exactly as he had feared. Facing the carefully orchestrated attack from the Lin and Fire Branches, Elder Wu Pan, whose vitality was already fading, was quickly losing ground.

”It seems the Wind Branch will decline irreversibly under my leadership. How shameful for our ancestors,” Wu Xuan muttered bitterly, sorrow evident on his usually indifferent face.

Below, Xiao Ling bit her lips so hard that blood seeped out. Yet she paid no attention to it, staring unblinkingly at the intense battle on the two white jade platforms.

”Brother Langtian, Brother Jinwu, can Uncle Wu and the others still win?” Xiao Ling held onto a sliver of hope as she asked, her voice trembling.

Lin Langtian shook his head immediately, replying without hesitation, ”The Lin and Fire Branches prepared carefully for this moment. Those two attackers are exceptionally strong. Even if Uncle Wu manages to stay undefeated, Elder Wu Pan will surely lose. This situation will inevitably result in one loss and one draw.”

Hearing this, Xiao Ling’s beautiful face immediately turned pale as snow. Her nails dug into her palms, drawing blood. She could already imagine the grim future awaiting the Wind Branch.

Lin Langtian glanced at her silently, then turned his attention calmly back to the fierce battles atop the white jade platforms.

Boom! Boom!

Immense Yuan Power surged like oceans, continuously shaking the majestic peak. The terrifying pressure from the Samsara Stage battles spread outward, causing immense pressure on the surrounding mountains.

”It’s about to end,” Lin Langtian suddenly announced, eyes narrowing slightly.

Bang!

As his words fell, Wu Yan from the Fire Branch unleashed a blazing palm strike, shattering Elder Wu Pan’s final defenses, sending the elder flying backward, coughing blood.

Wu Pan stood outside the platform, his aged body trembling slightly, face filled with defeat and despair.

Instantly, silence engulfed the entire battlefield. Even though Wu Xuan and Wu Sen hadn’t yet decided a winner, everyone knew the Wind Branch had already lost.

”Haha, many thanks for your guidance, Chief Wu Xuan.” Wu Sen laughed coldly, stepping back off the platform.

Since the Wind Branch had lost one match, according to the rules, losing a seat was inevitable, rendering their ongoing battle pointless.

His laughter echoed through the mountains. Below, the Wind Branch clansmen fell into absolute silence. Their faces were pale, filled with despair; some elderly members even shed tears helplessly.

From this day forward, their Wind Branch would be reduced to a mere sub-branch, their status plummeting dramatically.

”The Wind Branch is finished…”

The outcome on both platforms had been decided, plunging everyone into a somber silence. Many top-tier beast factions present sighed inwardly, realizing that after today, the Seven Malefic Black Golden Crow Clan would have only two main branches remaining.

At the seats occupied by the Lin and Fire Branches, their chiefs Wu Xiu and Wu Yan watched calmly, showing no emotion as if this outcome had been predetermined long ago. Their eyes briefly showed disdainful amusement as they looked at the grieving Wind Branch members.

Those Wind Branch people likely regretted not supporting Wu Ju sufficiently back then. If Wu Ju were still around, their situation would certainly not be so pitiful.

”Such incompetence…” Elder Wu Pan sighed deeply, appearing even more aged and weary than before.

With this defeat, the Wind Branch would lose another seat, leaving them only a single seat in the Elder Council. According to clan rules, a branch required at least two seats to maintain main branch status. Now, they faced relegation to sub-branch status, losing tremendous resources and power, possibly forever.

Below the platform, Wu Xuan clenched his fists tightly, expression extremely grim. He was powerless to alter this outcome, left only with bitter acceptance.

”Our last hope is Langtian now. If he can’t reverse this situation, today might truly mark the Wind Branch’s collapse,” Wu Xuan whispered bitterly.

At the Wind Branch’s peak, gloom filled every face. They began realizing what losing main branch status truly meant—a catastrophic blow to their clan’s future.

At this moment, Lin Branch Chief Wu Xiu turned to the Grand Elder and respectfully said, ”Grand Elder, the outcome is clear. Please announce it.”

At the summit of the main peak, the Grand Elder slowly opened his eyes. He glanced sympathetically at Wu Xuan’s sorrowful expression, sighed softly, and then his low, powerful voice echoed clearly through the mountains:

”The Wind Branch has failed in defense and will lose one seat.”

The Grand Elder’s decree rang through the skies, extinguishing the Wind Branch’s last flicker of hope.

Xiao Ling’s beautiful face was now pale and dull, her eyes dimmed, whispering mournfully, ”It’s over…”

She felt deep sorrow, knowing that after today, their Wind Branch would surely descend into chaos, forever weakened.

At this moment, Lin Langtian took a deep breath, then stepped forward resolutely.

”Brother Langtian, what are you doing?!” Xiao Ling asked in panic, seeing him step confidently into the air toward the main peak.

”I made a promise to Uncle Wu Xuan; I won’t go back on my word,” Lin Langtian replied calmly, turning slightly with a reassuring smile.

Xiao Ling stared blankly, unsure of his intentions. Jinwu, however, tightened his lips with deep trust evident in his eyes, nodding solemnly, ”Brother Langtian, thank you.”

Lin Langtian smiled softly, then turned to walk through the air. Raising his head, his calm and profound eyes stared directly toward the peak of the mountain.

The Grand Elder’s powerful voice continued, ”Due to failure in defense, the Wind Branch now has only one seat left, according to clan rules, they will lose their main branch sta—”

”Wait!”

A clear voice suddenly interrupted the Grand Elder, echoing sharply through the silent sky.

Everyone froze, then countless eyes turned in astonishment toward the voice’s origin. On a nearby peak stood a handsome young man calmly hovering in mid-air, hands clasped behind his back, his demeanor extraordinary and composed.

”Who is he? Such boldness to interrupt Grand Elder Wu Qian!”

On another mountain peak nearby, Kun Jian, a senior elder from the Kunpeng Clan, also watched in shock. Beside him stood a cold, beautiful silver-haired woman, who curiously noticed Kun Jian’s reaction.

”Elder Kun Jian, what’s wrong?”

”Nothing… just recognizing an old acquaintance,” Kun Jian murmured uncomfortably, not revealing his recent defeat by Lin Langtian.

The silver-haired woman gazed thoughtfully at Lin Langtian, silently deducing that this young man must have caused Elder Kun Jian’s recent troubles.

At the peak summit, Grand Elder Wu Qian narrowed his eyes slightly, studying Lin Langtian. Although the young man was only at peak Death Profound Stage, Wu Qian sensed unfathomable depths in him, something he’d never encountered before in a junior.

”Who are you, and why interfere in my clan’s affairs?” Grand Elder Wu Qian’s voice boomed, shaking the very air.

At the same moment, Chiefs Wu Xiu and Wu Yan from the Lin and Fire Branches stared at Lin Langtian, expressions filled with scorn. They suspected he was the Wind Branch’s so-called foreign aid, yet a mere Death Profound Stage human seemed laughably inadequate for the task.

Below, Wind Branch clansmen murmured hopelessly, convinced that Lin Langtian couldn’t possibly turn the tide. Only Jinwu looked upon him with unwavering trust.

Lin Langtian stood confidently, responding clearly:

”My name is Lin Langtian.”

Wu Qian’s gaze flickered, unfamiliar with this name.

Lin Langtian smiled slightly, determination evident in his handsome features:

”Jinwu, whom your clan calls ’the son of the sinner,’ is my sworn brother. Today, I will represent the Wind Branch in battle.”

His calm words resonated loudly, causing an immediate uproar among all spectators. Every member of the Seven Malefic Black Golden Crow Clan stared in disbelief at this human youth standing boldly above them.

Could this young man truly be the Wind Branch’s foreign aid?
