Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

The cry of a Kunpeng echoed through the heavens and earth as the figure of a middle-aged man emerged before the Elder Eagle Nest. Behind him, an indistinct aura gathered, forming a looming Kunpeng silhouette whose oppressive power enveloped the surroundings.

His sudden appearance immediately drew countless astonished gazes. No one had anticipated that a rarely-seen member of the Kunpeng Clan would show up here today.

People exchanged serious glances, realizing that this conflict was about to escalate drastically.

”A member of the Kunpeng Clan?”

Lin Langtian slightly narrowed his eyes, observing the newly arrived middle-aged man. It seemed Elder Eagle Nest indeed had significant backing—possessing the Kunpeng Totem and even managing to summon aid from a member of the Kunpeng Clan.

Under everyone’s attention, the middle-aged man gradually revealed his face, a solemn and authoritative expression marked on his features.

From the terrifying aura faintly emanating from his body, it was evident that he had reached the pinnacle of the Reincarnation Realm. Such formidable strength was enough to grant him significant status even within the mighty Kunpeng Clan.

Upon his appearance, the middle-aged man first glanced briefly at the heavily wounded and utterly humiliated Elder Eagle Nest before turning his gaze toward the cold-faced Lin Langtian and Wolf Demon General. When he noticed the Wolf Demon General, a hint of surprise flickered through his eyes; clearly, he hadn’t expected a mighty Demon General to be obediently serving a mere human.

”My esteemed son-in-law, save me!” Elder Eagle Nest, upon seeing the man, rejoiced instantly and hurriedly cried out.

”A Demon General?”

The Kunpeng Clan expert spared Elder Eagle Nest another glance before frowning at Lin Langtian. ”Who are you, and why are you cooperating with a Demon to harm the elites of my Demon Beast Clan?”

”Cooperating with a Demon?” Lin Langtian chuckled slightly at this, shaking his head dismissively. ”Why couldn’t it be the Demon abandoning darkness for the light, joining forces with me instead?”

Lin Langtian was careful not to carry the reputation of siding with Demons, as that would leave him nowhere to stand among humans or even the entire Tianxuan Continent.

Hearing Lin Langtian’s response, the Kunpeng Clan elder momentarily froze, apparently astonished at the suggestion that a Demon General would ever side with a human.

To these peak experts of the Tianxuan Continent, Demons were known for cruelty and malice, making such cooperation almost impossible to imagine.

Skeptically, the Kunpeng Clan elder turned toward the Wolf Demon General. To his shock, he saw that the Demon General’s face held no anger or resistance—only profound respect and obedience toward Lin Langtian.

”Could it truly be that this Demon General has genuinely submitted to that human?” The middle-aged man’s previously calm expression showed a hint of astonishment.

A mighty Demon General, comparable to a pinnacle Reincarnation Realm powerhouse, willingly obeying a mere human was simply incomprehensible.

”What background or methods does this young man possess that even a Demon General willingly submits to him?” The elder wondered silently.

Although his Kunpeng Clan was among the Four Great Dominant Clans, formidable in their own right, they were still weaker compared to the Demon Clan. Yet now, a powerful Demon General—someone who stood at the doorstep of becoming a Demon King—was serving a human youth. This made the elder deeply wary.

”I am Kun Jian, the Third Elder of the Kunpeng Clan,” the middle-aged man spoke up after a moment. ”Although I don’t know how you subdued a Demon General, Elder Eagle Nest is my seventh wife’s father. I hope you can give me face today and spare him.”

”He attempted to kill my brother. How can I just let him off?” Lin Langtian replied coldly, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.

Even though Kun Jian was a respected Third Elder in the Kunpeng Clan, Lin Langtian wasn’t someone who would back down in the face of threats.

Kun Jian frowned, clearly displeased. ”This matter has already heavily injured Elder Eagle Nest. You’ve vented your anger sufficiently. Let us end it here today.”

”I prefer not to leave loose ends.” Lin Langtian’s gaze turned colder. His style was much like Lin Dong’s—eliminate threats completely to prevent future troubles.

Kun Jian’s frown deepened further. The Wolf Demon General was undoubtedly powerful, but his Kunpeng Clan wasn’t easily intimidated either. If not for caution over Lin Langtian’s mysterious abilities, he would have immediately retaliated to preserve his clan’s dignity. However, even after showing some goodwill, Lin Langtian remained uncompromising.

”Elder Eagle Nest is closely connected to my Kunpeng Clan. If I allow you to kill him here today, where would my and my clan’s prestige lie?” Kun Jian stared at Lin Langtian coldly. ”Are you sure you wish to provoke the Kunpeng Clan over this minor grudge?”

Lin Langtian met his gaze, his voice equally chilling. ”It was Elder Eagle Nest who intended to kill my brother first. Everything I do now is justified. If you insist on protecting him, you will bear the consequences!”

Though usually calm and rational, Lin Langtian only became increasingly defiant when threatened.

Kun Jian’s expression darkened upon hearing those words. ”Do you really have the strength to back up such bold claims?”

”Why don’t you find out yourself?”

At Lin Langtian’s words, the Wolf Demon General immediately moved forward, erupting with terrifying demonic energy that filled the heavens.

”Pathetic Kunpeng, daring to boast in front of my master! Today, I’ll teach you a lesson!”

”Sky Wolf Slash!”

Following Lin Langtian’s order, Wolf Demon General laughed savagely, summoning a massive black blade formed from surging demonic energy. On its surface, a sinister black wolf howled fiercely before the Demon General slashed toward Kun Jian.

Seeing the sudden attack, Kun Jian’s expression changed slightly. Yet, as a Third Elder of the Kunpeng Clan, he quickly stabilized himself and snorted coldly, releasing blazing dark-red flames behind him.

”Since when do Demons dare behave so arrogantly in the Demon Region? You’re courting death!”

An illusory crimson Kunpeng materialized behind Kun Jian, radiating the genuine pressure of his clan.

Lin Langtian’s expression turned serious. He sensed Kun Jian was cultivating an extremely potent body-refining art—clearly a top-tier technique within the Kunpeng Clan. With this enhancement, Kun Jian’s strength was even higher than Elder Eagle Nest, even when the latter was bolstered by his Cloud Eagle Formation.

”Flaming Kunpeng Armor!”

Kun Jian stepped forward, the fiery Kunpeng behind him merging into his body, transforming into dazzling, flame-like armor etched with Kunpeng patterns and releasing a fearsome aura.

The Wolf Demon General’s ferocious strike, the Sky Wolf Slash, impacted heavily against Kun Jian’s armor, yet astonishingly, Kun Jian remained motionless, the armor completely undamaged.

By contrast, Wolf Demon General’s black blade shattered instantly, dissipating into clouds of demonic energy.

”Your abilities are impressive, but insufficient to defeat me!” Kun Jian sneered arrogantly.

Wolf Demon General’s expression turned grim. Refusing to accept defeat, he condensed another formidable black demonic spear and launched another fierce assault.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The spear struck countless times with incredible power, yet Kun Jian remained unharmed, the Flaming Kunpeng Armor seemingly impervious.

”You can’t break my Flaming Kunpeng Armor!”

After a prolonged clash, the spear finally disintegrated again, prompting Kun Jian’s cold laughter.

His armor was among the highest-level body-refining arts in the Kunpeng Clan, nearly invincible below the Samsara Realm.

Watching the battle, the surrounding crowd was awestruck by Kun Jian’s overwhelming defense, finally realizing firsthand why Kun Jian was renowned as one of the Kunpeng Clan’s strongest body refiners.

Elder Eagle Nest’s earlier despair had transformed into smug mockery as he watched Lin Langtian struggle helplessly against Kun Jian’s armor.

Lin Langtian, observing this, narrowed his eyes. Kun Jian indeed was formidable—not only stronger than Elder Eagle Nest but further enhanced by extraordinary armor.

”If this is your source of confidence, I’m afraid you’re about to be disappointed,” Lin Langtian said calmly. ”If you refuse to leave now, you and your companion will perish here.”

Kun Jian laughed mockingly. ”Oh? You believe you can break my armor?”

Mocking laughter filled the area, especially from Elder Eagle Nest.

Lin Langtian didn’t respond to the ridicule. Instead, he slowly raised two fingers, which began shimmering strangely with black and silver energies, becoming increasingly concentrated and mysterious.

”I’d like to see how exactly you intend to break my Flaming Kunpeng Armor!” Kun Jian scoffed arrogantly, his armor blazing brighter than ever, solidifying into a radiant crystal-like appearance.

Lin Langtian’s fingers turned completely black and silver, emitting strange, fluid-like energies. Mysterious runes flickered amidst the rippling power.

The earlier laughter quieted down as everyone sensed a genuine threat emanating from Lin Langtian’s unusual technique.

Lin Langtian lifted his gaze, a deep, black-and-silver light surging ominously within his eyes, ready to unleash his true power…
