Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”Heh, your Dark Abyss Armor is gone. Let’s see how you’ll block this next attack!”

After cleaving apart Xu Zhong’s Dark Abyss Armor with a single sword strike, Lin Langtian’s mouth curled into a cold smile.

In the next instant, Lin Langtian exploded forward, clenching his fist as a terrifying force swept out like a storm. Without hesitation, he viciously punched Xu Zhong, whose protective armor was already shattered.

Boom!

A muffled, thunderous sound echoed across the battlefield. Xu Zhong let out a miserable scream as his thousand-foot-long body was violently hurled backward, smashing through one mountain peak after another, shattering them completely.

”Oh mighty Demon Marshal, weren’t you acting arrogantly just moments ago?”

Lin Langtian’s figure appeared like a phantom behind Xu Zhong, his right leg kicking out fiercely, shattering the air itself.

Bang!

The gigantic tiger was once again sent flying, scattering scalding blood across the sky like a gruesome rain.

”Worthless!”

Standing amidst the raining blood, Lin Langtian resembled a merciless god of slaughter. In a flash, he grasped a nearby mountain peak, gripping its tip and wielding it like an enormous hammer. Ruthlessly, he smashed it down upon Xu Zhong’s massive body again and again.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

With each strike, the mountain peak delivered devastating impacts, Xu Zhong’s anguished roars reverberating endlessly. The scene left countless spectators frozen, their faces filled with disbelief and horror.

After a series of brutal blows, Lin Langtian finally paused before the heavily wounded Xu Zhong. Calmly, he summoned his Flaming Feather Sword once again, the sword’s surface erupting with raging flames. Without the slightest hesitation, he plunged it straight through Xu Zhong’s enormous body.

Aaaah!

A piercing, agonized cry rang out. Flames rapidly spread over Xu Zhong’s body, causing his gigantic form to shrink drastically at an alarming rate.

In mere moments, Xu Zhong reverted to his human shape. The Flaming Feather Sword protruded through his shoulder, blood flowing ceaselessly.

”Hand over the inherited blood essence,” Lin Langtian said quietly, gazing down at the defeated Xu Zhong.

Xu Zhong wiped the blood from his face, glaring darkly at Lin Langtian. Glancing aside and seeing the Shadow Guard and Qin Shi suppressed by Little Flame and Lin Dong respectively, his expression grew even uglier.

He lifted his head, observing the countless gazes fixed upon him. Never in his wildest dreams had Xu Zhong, one of the renowned Eight Demon Marshals, imagined himself reduced to such a pathetic state.

”Haha, as a Demon Marshal, losing this easily would indeed be too humiliating...” Xu Zhong rasped hoarsely to himself.

”You’re still trying to resist at this point?” Little Flame snorted coldly, blasting the Shadow Guard backward with a fierce punch.

Xu Zhong turned toward the Shadow Guard, a twisted smile appearing on his lips. ”Aren’t you curious about this Shadow Guard? Today, I’ll show you his true face!”

Xu Zhong lunged forward suddenly, ripping away the black cloak covering the Shadow Guard. Beneath it emerged a face startlingly similar to Xu Zhong’s own.

”That’s... Xu Zhong?” someone exclaimed incredulously.

Shock rippled through the crowd. The Shadow Guard bore an identical appearance to Xu Zhong, except his eyes were vacant and lifeless—a puppet?

”He was my twin brother,” Xu Zhong explained, his twisted smile deepening. ”When we were born, I stole his vitality, leaving him frail. Eventually, he died from weakness.”

Xu Zhong stroked the Shadow Guard’s face gently, yet his expression made onlookers shiver in fear. ”After his death, I used a forbidden technique to create a ’Twin Soul Puppet.’ Although sinister, this method has one huge advantage: someday, I can absorb all the puppet’s energy for myself.”

”In truth, this Shadow Guard was nothing more than my cultivation vessel—crafted from my own brother’s body!”

An eerie silence settled over the battlefield as everyone stared at Xu Zhong, chilled to the bone by his ruthless cruelty.

”Now, it’s finally time for my dear brother to repay me,” Xu Zhong sneered. Beneath his feet, lines of blood spread rapidly, forming a blood-red formation encompassing both himself and the Shadow Guard.

He thrust his hand like a blade straight into the Shadow Guard’s chest, blood spilling uncontrollably. The puppet’s body rapidly withered as Xu Zhong’s aura skyrocketed dramatically, approaching the threshold of the Reincarnation Stage!

A terrifying energy field expanded rapidly, making it impossible for anyone to approach.

”Bastard!” Little Flame cursed, astonished and angered by this unexpected development.

”Xu Zhong... is attempting to break through to the Reincarnation Stage?!”

Alarmed cries rose from the spectators. They felt an oppressive aura forming swiftly, making breathing difficult.

Even Lin Dong’s face darkened slightly. If Xu Zhong truly succeeded in breaking through, the situation would reverse instantly.

However, Lin Langtian remained expressionless, a faint smile tugging at his lips. In the next instant, his hands flashed through complex seals. As his hand seals changed, a dark vertical slit appeared on his forehead, slowly opening to reveal a sinister and evil third eye.

”You don’t even spare your own brother. For someone like you, death is the only path,” Lin Langtian whispered coldly.

An intense black beam suddenly shot from his third eye, filled with terrifying and wicked power capable of annihilating all life.

Shhk!

The black beam effortlessly penetrated Xu Zhong’s seemingly impregnable energy field, piercing straight through his forehead.

Xu Zhong’s crazed laughter froze abruptly. Blood seeped from the wound as his eyes widened with shock and despair. His immense aura collapsed instantly, and the fleeting hope of ascending vanished.

”How...is this possible?”

Xu Zhong felt his world darkening, his vision blurring as he stared at the distant youth with the eerie third eye.

Even at this moment, he couldn’t fathom how Lin Langtian had broken his almost unstoppable energy field, delivering this lethal blow so effortlessly.

”What kind of attack was that...?”

Xu Zhong’s consciousness faded rapidly into darkness. His body trembled weakly before finally crashing to the ground, lifeless.

A renowned Demon Marshal had fallen!

Complete silence enveloped Lei Yuan Mountain. Only a quiet breeze whispered through the rubble, unable to dispel the oppressive shock gripping everyone.

Xu Zhong was dead.

The spectators stared dumbfounded at the collapsed figure, hardly daring to believe their eyes. Xu Zhong, a famed Demon Marshal on the verge of entering the Reincarnation Stage, had been killed by this human youth named Lin Langtian?

Everyone knew that once this news spread, it would create a massive uproar throughout the Beast War Region.

Lin Langtian slowly closed his sinister third eye, the eerie energy dissipating. However, this attack clearly had consumed substantial strength, as his complexion turned slightly pale and he coughed softly.

”Langtian, are you alright?” Lin Dong and Little Flame asked urgently, noticing his condition.

Lin Langtian shook his head gently, but his expression hardened as he abruptly lifted his gaze. A figure swiftly rushed forward, reaching to seize Xu Zhong’s corpse.

”You’re courting death!”

Lin Langtian shouted coldly, unleashing another fierce sword beam.

The figure had clearly seen Lin Langtian’s terrifying sword technique earlier and hesitated, momentarily faltering. Taking advantage of this brief pause, Little Flame roared, charging forth and delivering a powerful blow, forcing the figure back.

Bang!

The attacker stumbled backward, revealing himself as Qin Shi.

Seeing his plan had failed and feeling the trio’s murderous gaze, Qin Shi quickly clasped his fists apologetically. ”Young brothers, I had little relationship with Xu Zhong. I acted solely due to the generous reward he promised. Since he’s dead, I’ll withdraw now.”

Without hesitation, Qin Shi turned and swiftly departed. With Xu Zhong dead, he no longer dared linger.

Lin Langtian, Lin Dong, and Little Flame exchanged glances but didn’t pursue him further. Qin Shi posed little threat now.

As Qin Shi left, the atmosphere relaxed. Several of Lei Yuan Mountain’s generals, loyal to Little Flame, quickly knelt, followed by the hesitant guards.

”Flame General, ascend as the new Demon Marshal!”

Their shouts echoed powerfully. From afar, the formidable Tiger Devouring Army thundered forward, also kneeling respectfully and chanting in unison, ”Flame General, ascend as Marshal!”

The voices resonated loudly, compelling everyone else on Lei Yuan Mountain to kneel in submission.

Little Flame hesitated briefly but, encouraged by Lin Langtian and Lin Dong, ultimately agreed. Lei Yuan Mountain was a valuable power, and controlling it would greatly benefit them.

Hovering high above, Little Flame’s gaze swept over everyone. Finally, he turned toward the hesitant Meng Shan and the Crocodile General. ”Do you accept?”

After a moment’s pause, both generals finally knelt in resignation.

Satisfied, Little Flame turned to Huo Miao, the last still standing. ”If you don’t wish to stay, you’re free to leave.”

Huo Miao snorted lightly, her face reddening. Yet, she gracefully knelt, her proud attitude softened significantly.

With that, resistance faded entirely. Little Flame’s powerful voice echoed across Lei Yuan Mountain, marking the moment of his official ascension:

”Lei Yuan Mountain’s structure remains unchanged—except for the Marshal’s position!”

”Congratulations to Marshal Flame!”

The mountain erupted in reverent cheers, signaling the dawn of a new era for Lei Yuan Mountain.
