Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

The trading arena fell silent, and the eyes of the crowd were locked in shock on the scene before them, as if they couldn’t fully process what had just happened. Jin Mu was a well-known figure in Sun City—a top-tier warrior, if not among the absolute best. Yet now, he had been defeated in a single strike by Lin Langtian, leader of the Flame Alliance. The scene was almost unbelievable, but with the results right before their eyes, disbelief had no place.

Lin Dong, Mo Ling, and the others were equally stunned as they watched. Though they knew Lin Langtian was exceptionally powerful, they hadn’t expected him to defeat a half-step Nirvana expert so effortlessly.

For the members of the Flame Alliance, this spectacle was even more astonishing, and they stared at Lin Langtian with awe and a newfound fervor. It was clear to them now—following Lin Langtian had been the best decision of their lives.

As the fiery remnants of Jin Mu’s charred form cooled, Lin Langtian remained impassive, yet internally he felt a momentary surge of appreciation for the power he had gained. The addition of the Nine Nether Flames to his Yuan Power had indeed made him formidable. Jin Mu, though only a half-step Nirvana, came from a mid-level dynasty and had considerable resources. Even Nirvana stage fighters would struggle to take him down with such swiftness. Yet, with the Nine Nether Flames embedded in his attack, Lin Langtian’s strike had rendered Jin Mu utterly defenseless.

With Jin Mu dealt with, Lin Langtian turned his gaze to the remaining Sacred Light Dynasty members, who were now visibly shaken. He gave a slight frown before waving his hand dismissively.

”Eliminate them—leave no one alive,” he ordered coldly.

In the Ancient Battlefield, where neither law nor order held sway, leaving enemies alive was simply inviting trouble.

”Yes, First Brother!” the members of the Flame Alliance shouted enthusiastically. Led by Lin Dong and the others, they unleashed their full might on the remaining Sacred Light Dynasty warriors. These warriors were talented and well-trained, but after witnessing Jin Mu’s fall, their morale was shattered. Against the fierce onslaught of the Flame Alliance, they crumbled within minutes.

”That’s... unbelievable!”

The spectators watched in horror as the once-powerful Sacred Light Dynasty was reduced to corpses scattered on the ground. Though life in the Ancient Battlefield was indeed cheap, the Sacred Light Dynasty, as a mid-level power, was considered a regional heavyweight, yet they had been annihilated in mere moments. It was a chilling reminder of the ruthlessness of the Hundred Dynasties War and the strength of this new faction, the Flame Alliance.

Even the leaders of the other three mid-level dynasties looked at Lin Langtian and his group with newfound wariness. Lin Langtian, who could defeat Jin Mu with a single move, had an aura of power similar to that of a full Nirvana-stage warrior, despite only being at the half-step Nirvana stage. Additionally, Lin Dong, though only at the advanced Creation Realm, possessed abilities that even a half-step Nirvana expert would fear.

And with Mo Ling and the other top warriors of the Flame Alliance, it was clear that this new faction led by the Great Flame Dynasty was not one to be trifled with. The Flame Alliance had quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the Hundred Dynasties War.

As murmurs filled the air, Lin Langtian raised his hand and addressed the crowd calmly.

”Ladies and gentlemen, I did not come here for bloodshed. Jin Mu simply brought this upon himself. Now that the matter is resolved, there is no need for any of you to be concerned,” he said. ”However, since the Flame Alliance is new to the area, we are seeking information about the Ancient Key. If anyone has information, I would be willing to pay 1,000 Nirvana Pills for it.”

After watching Lin Langtian dispatch Jin Mu, the crowd was hesitant to respond, despite the generous offer. Many of them were unfamiliar with Lin Langtian’s methods and were not keen on risking trouble over the reward.

Seeing this hesitation, Lin Langtian’s brow furrowed, and he was about to raise the offered amount when a loud laugh suddenly rang out.

”Haha! Jin Mu’s been an eyesore for a long time now, and it was satisfying to see Brother Lin put him in his place. The Ancient Key isn’t exactly a secret here in Sun City. If you’re interested, I’ll be happy to tell you more about it!”

A burly man with a dark complexion and a metallic gleam to his skin stepped forward, his body exuding an air of indomitable strength, like a block of iron.

”That’s Mo Tie of the Sky Iron Dynasty—he’s also a half-step Nirvana,” Mo Ling whispered.

Lin Langtian nodded, recalling information he had heard about Mo Tie. It appeared that the man genuinely sought to forge good relations. Lin Langtian acknowledged him with a smile.

”In that case, Mo Tie, I appreciate your willingness to help. Shall we find somewhere private to talk?”

...

Soon after, Lin Langtian, Mo Tie, and their entourage gathered in a high tower in Sun City, where laughter and conversation flowed.

After a few minutes, Lin Langtian cut to the chase. ”Mo Tie, would you be able to share any information about the Ancient Key’s location?”

”Certainly,” Mo Tie replied, his openness indicating he was genuinely interested in forming an alliance with the Flame Alliance.

”The Ancient Key is said to be hidden in the Thunder Rock Mountain Range, not far from Sun City. However, that area is full of dangerous beasts, including some that rival half-step Nirvana warriors, and there may even be Nirvana-level beasts lurking in the depths.”

”Nirvana-level beasts...” Lin Langtian murmured with a nod, his expression unmoved.

Mo Tie was momentarily taken aback by Lin Langtian’s calmness. Only a Nirvana-stage expert would have the composure to face such creatures without fear, leading Mo Tie to suspect that Lin Langtian did indeed possess Nirvana-level strength.

”There’s a place called Thunder Rock Valley within the Thunder Rock Mountains,” Mo Tie continued, his tone turning serious. ”It’s said that the valley was once the training ground of an ancient powerhouse, who served as a guardian of the ancient treasure. The Ancient Key is believed to be hidden within this valley.

”Additionally, Thunder Rock Valley contains numerous valuable items: martial arts techniques, rare medicinal herbs, and spiritual treasures. And, according to rumors, it even harbors a legendary Celestial Talisman Tree.”
