Chapter 1295: Chapter 437: Valziger Ruins (Part 2)

”Please continue, Master Henry.”

”Alright, Lord Rein, let’s proceed. Next, regarding the processed leather, we need to varnish it. This is done to prevent insect and moth damage and also to extend its lifespan.”

”Different varnishes have varied effects...” Old Henry explained while leading the way.

The varnishing process also emits a strong odor.

However, this step doesn’t pose a challenge for Rein because the precision a Legendary strongman can manage during the most challenging varnish mix stage far exceeds that of ordinary people.

Next, it’s time to craft specific leather goods using different materials.

This is generally considered the task a Skin Tanning craftsman is expected to do.

Of course, typically, a Skin Tanning craftsman would delve and excel in a specific niche, such as bootmaking or leather armor making, leading to specialized professions like these.

This is similar to the Blacksmith profession system Rein previously encountered, where, in the Middle Stage, there are specialized roles like Swordsmith and Armor Forger, leading to proficiency in different niche fields.

”Lord Rein, which component are you interested in making?” Old Henry asked, pointing at various finished leather armor hanging on the workshop wall.

Rein scanned the various leather armor pieces hanging on the wall and soon pinpointed a leather jacket which he thought might yield a high Professional Experience Points return.

”This leather jacket will do.”

The leather jacket Rein pointed at had numerous floral carvings, but for him, this posed no pressure. Such carving techniques not only existed in tailoring but were more elaborate and complex in Engraving.

According to Rein’s previous experience, ”Chest Armor” and ”intricate craftsmanship” often brought higher Experience Points.

”This piece is a carved leather coat, with medium difficulty mainly because of the carvings on both sides, which are time-consuming and labor-intensive.” Old Henry said, glancing at Rein’s expression.

Typically, such a carved leather coat is intended for beginner leather armor makers who have worked through the basics for years to learn. But considering Rein has only been exposed to Skin Tanning for a few hours, Old Henry didn’t think it would pose a challenge to him, so he began teaching directly.

A quarter of an hour later, Rein started crafting, and as the finished product emerged, the system prompt sounded:

[You have crafted a carved leather coat, and your relevant understanding has improved!]

[You have gained a new Skill—Crafting Carved Leather Coat]

[Your Skill Crafting Carved Leather Coat has improved, Experience Points +12]

[You successfully crafted a carved leather coat, Professional Experience Points as a Skin Tanning craftsman +10]

...

”Succeeded in one attempt?” Old Henry rubbed his eyes, staring at the carved lines above. He was astonished, as even if he were to make it, the smoothness of the lines wouldn’t have been better.

Fortunately, strongmen like Lord Rein wouldn’t enter the Skin Tanning industry and take away their livelihood, otherwise, everyone would be out of jobs!

With such generous Experience Points rewards, two hours later, Rein elevated his Skin Tanning profession level from lv1 to lv4 (690/1000), gaining an additional 3 attribute points and 3 skill points.

Now, he has a total of 9 remaining attribute points, which assures support during high-intensity battles in the Fourth Layer.

He has 8 remaining skill points, only 3 points short of the 11 skill points needed to raise the New Witchcraft ’Sawtooth Ring’ to lv12.

But by this time, it was already nearing noon.

Rein thought for a moment and then bid farewell to Old Henry, stating he’d return the next day.

In the afternoon, he planned to visit the school and meet with his mentor, Mogaro.

Because recently, the crystallization speed of his spiritual power has far exceeded expectations, meaning that the Fourth Layer Steel Heart Advanced Meditation Method needed to be prioritized.

Bixiu Mechanization School residence.

Inside Mogaro’s office.

After brief pleasantries, Mentor Mogaro solemnly said, ”Rein, you came just in time. I initially wanted Audrey to find you; there’s something very important.”

”Mentor, please go ahead.” Rein sat up slightly and replied.

”It’s like this. The Fourth Layer Steel Heart Meditation Method I mentioned to you last time, we have some progress on that.”

”Oh? That’s certainly good news.” Rein raised his eyebrows and smiled.

Of course, he also understood why Mentor Mogaro’s demeanor was so serious; undoubtedly, there were difficulties encountered in the subsequent stages.

This was a coincidence as he intended to inquire about the matter anyway.

Indeed, Mogaro continued, ”After some preliminary exploration and clarification, the school is basically certain there’s more than a 50% chance that the complete legacy of this Meditation Method is hidden within the Valziger Ruins.”

”However, the danger level within the ruins is very high. Based on the residual Witch Array and Puppet Demon Statue we’ve analyzed, it should be the principal base of the ancient Valziger School.”

”We’ve only explored the outer areas so far, but even that saw Sect Leader Moria suffer minor injuries during exploration.”

”Oh, by the way, Rein, you haven’t yet met Sect Leader Moria, have you? He’s been busy exploring the ruins for almost half a year now.” Mogaro said, patting his forehead.

”There was initially a team under the Military Department exploring too, but they withdrew for another mission two months ago. Currently, it’s only our Bixiu Mechanization School handling the matter, so Sect Leader Moria has been occupied over there constantly.”
