Chapter 1283: Chapter 433: Dragon Soul Strike_2

Just as Rein finished his meal, a knock sounded at the door.

”Knock knock!”

Since Rein’s door was half-open during his meal, the knocking was mostly out of courtesy.

”Please come in!”

Rein looked up to see General Augustus and Major General Tatia entering. Seeing this, he immediately stood up and greeted them with a smile.

After some pleasantries, General Augustus sized up Rein and asked, ”Lord Rein, I would like to ask, has your power truly reached the epic tier?”

This question had puzzled not only him but many others for a while.

Before Rein entered the Secret Realm and faced the injured Nether Sea Goddess Hela, no one thought Rein’s power had already reached the epic level.

After the encounter with the Nether Sea Goddess, many speculated that Rein’s power, or more accurately, his strength after a bloodline transformation, had entered the epic tier.

However, a significant number still thought that the Nether Sea Goddess’s Avatar had already fallen from the epic level due to being severely injured by ’Red Queen’ Prince Menia before retreating into the Dragon Valley Secret Realm.

But even so, after Rein’s battle with the Void Dragon, most people in the second-floor command hall believed that Rein’s transformed strength had indeed reached the epic level.

Why did people care so much about this point?

Because the epic tier is a crucial milestone in terms of power level, and if a reason were to be given, there could easily be dozens listed.

Seeing General Augustus’s intense gaze, Rein considered it and felt there was no need to hide this point in general, though he could slightly downplay the level.

He nodded and said, ”Well, I also realized after my bloodline’s further awakening that my transformed strength has become stronger than before, roughly reaching the epic tier.”

”Excellent! It truly is the epic tier!” General Augustus slapped his thigh heavily, delighted.

Previously, it was all speculation, and even with confidence, there were still doubts, but now, having received direct confirmation from the person involved, there was no question anymore.

At least, in the eyes of General Augustus, there was no doubt.

”Lord Rein, from the moment you could directly crush the Nether Sea Goddess’s Avatar, I knew your strength should have reached the epic tier. The subsequent slaying of the Void Dragon further proves this point.”

General Augustus’s suspicions were confirmed, and he couldn’t help but laugh heartily.

”Congratulations, Lord Rein, no, Lord Rein, you are now qualified to become an Imperial Guardian.” Major General Tatia, standing by the side, also smiled in congratulation.

”Guardian?” Rein was slightly surprised.

This was something he hadn’t expected, that he could apply for the title of ’Imperial Guardian,’ the official designation for the Dragan Empire’s most powerful force, so quickly.

”Yes, although Lord Rein, your epic tier strength was reached through a bloodline transformation, this is also a talent that is recognized by both the Empire’s Elder Council and the Royal Family according to previous conventions.”

Tatia explained with a smile.

”Indeed. However, while becoming a Guardian has many benefits, the entire recognition process is quite complex, and there is a strong binding contract that needs to be examined and signed.” General Augustus said with a serious expression.

”Oh? A binding contract?” Rein nodded, as he had heard about this before.

From when he learned that Dragon Knight Pantoscoke of the Drum Family, titled ’Storm Cloud,’ couldn’t act against him, Rein knew that Dragon Knights, or rather Imperial Guardians, couldn’t casually attack those of non-epic tier within the Empire.

Of course, this excludes those who offend actively, and also excludes cult members and non-Empire personnel, but even so, there are very stringent conditions.

”Yes, but this matter is not personally governed, nor by the Sword Holder Headquarters. After the retest of the Dragon Valley Secret Realm is over, the mission report will be submitted.”

”Lord Rein, all your contributions will naturally be recorded, and it’s expected that after some time, the Elder Council and the Royal Family will send someone to communicate with you.”

”Currently, however, the Emperor is still recovering from injuries, so it’s uncertain when someone from the Royal Family will come. You just need to be aware that there is such a thing.” General Augustus explained in detail.

”I understand.” Rein nodded, he said.

He had also heard about this, as due to the Emperor’s injury, even this year’s conferment ceremony had not been held, and according to the usual timetable, his Earl title should have been approved last month.

But this year, until now, there has been no news.

Of course, this is because Rein hadn’t specifically inquired about the related news; otherwise, it would have been relatively easy to get a clear understanding of the situation by asking Javier Marquis, who serves in the Elder Council.

”Lord Rein, you may likely be the second person in decades within the Empire’s Sword Holder system to become a Guardian, impressive!”

”Ah, but once you become an Imperial Guardian, there will inevitably be a job transfer, and you might have to leave the Sword Holder system.” General Augustus remarked with a bit of emotion, sighing.

”But this is a good thing, a very good thing!” Augustus added again, saying.
