Chapter 296 – 175 Earl Harris (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

The beautiful lady apparently thought of something and took the initiative to speak.

Rein knew that the other party intended to repay him for today’s incident.

“Hmm? Is there also a mansion included as a gift? If the lady can help, that would be fantastic,” Rein’s eyes lit up.

“Yes, that’s right, haven’t you met Count Harris yet? Normally, you should receive an invitation from the Governor of Meister County—Count Harris—very soon,” the lady said with a light chuckle.

“Indeed, I only returned to Flashgold Town last night and haven’t even had time to report back to the town,” Rein shrugged and said.

“That explains it. After Count Habbs receives you, soon, you, the rising new Baron, will become known to all the nobles of Meister County. I imagine you will be overwhelmed with visits and invitations,” she said.

Baroness Crawley seemed to envision some lively scene and couldn’t help but cover her mouth and giggle.

Hmm?

The thought of the nutrient-free social interactions among the nobility gave Rein quite a headache.

He was still wholly focused on improving his strength; there was no time to deal with this.

“Oh, by the way, you will need to recruit a reliable, experienced butler for your new mansion, otherwise a lot of things can become quite troublesome for the master…”

This made Rein’s already furrowed brow tighten even more!

There were just too many trivial matters!

Handing these things off to his parents was clearly impractical.

As for an experienced butler?

He had no clue at the moment.

Recruiting some servants was easy, but experienced butlers, who were very important in any family, were usually trained from a young age, much like the servant boys at the Habsburg estate.

The astute beautiful lady, upon seeing Rein suddenly furrow his brow, guessed something and said, “Do you have any difficulties? Perhaps I can help with these trivial matters.”

When Baroness Crawley took the initiative to inquire, Rein thought to himself, yes, professional matters should be left to professionals.

Baroness Crawley might not be good at combat, but she was quite adept at family management and business dealings.

“Indeed, lady, I would love to push all these social engagements aside. Moreover, I really can’t think of where to find a butler who is both trustworthy and capable,” Rein said with a wry smile.

“Giggle~” The lady and Jenny couldn’t help but cover their mouths and laugh when they saw Rein’s rare wry smile.

“Look, how about I temporarily take on the role of housekeeper until you find a suitable one?” Baroness Crawley said with a smile.

“That would be wonderful, but it may be a bit demeaning for you…” Rein said, looking at the beautiful lady.

Although Rein was not very clear on some matters, he did have some understanding.

Normally, it was not unusual for the wife of a Knight or a noble to serve as the housekeeper for a higher-ranking noble, such as a Viscount or at the count’s mansion.

But it was quite rare for the wife of a Baron to take up a housekeeper role, unless it was for a Marquis or even a Duke’s family, but the highest-ranking title in the entire Meister County was Earl.

“It’s just a temporary measure. Compared to your previous help for the Crawley family, these are all trivial matters,” she said.

“Ah, Lord Reine, I also plan to gift you one of the Crawley family’s shops as a token of thanks. The family currently has a tailor’s shop, a bakery, and a blacksmith’s shop in the county town…”

Rein, who was about to decline, paused when he heard the familiar words “blacksmith’s shop,” swallowed the refusal that was almost on his lips, and reconsidered.

After thinking it over, Rein said:

“Lady, I am particularly interested in the blacksmith’s shop, but in terms of forging rather than managing. So, I think the operations of the blacksmith’s shop should still be handled by the Crawley family, and we can split the profits. However, I might often forge some weapons or the like, which may affect the normal operations of the shop. Just giving you a heads-up,” he said.

“Hmm? Lord Reine, are you very interested in forging?” The beautiful lady looked at Rein in surprise, then exchanged glances with Jenny beside her.

“Indeed, I am very interested,” Rein nodded.

Rein felt there was nothing shameful about it; even if he became a Duke one day, as long as the blacksmith’s profession panel existed, forging would still be an essential course for him!

“Lord Reine, perhaps you don’t know, my late father, Baron Crawley, was a senior armor caster. He once wrote two volumes on armor casting techniques, which, perhaps, you could take a look at when you have time,” Jenny said from the side.

“Hmm?” A spark of interest flashed in Rein’s eyes.

A senior armor caster?

Books on Armor Casting Technique?

“That’s wonderful! Lady, Jenny, I’ll first pay a visit to the Hamilton sheriff’s office, and after a while, how about we head to the county town together?” Rein was eager to see the books.

Perhaps he had a hunch that the blacksmith’s subsequent professional path might include armor caster as a likely option.

“Of course.,” the beautiful lady said with a smile.

…

At the administrative hall in Flashgold Town, in the sheriff’s office.

“My lord, I’ve returned!”

Seeing it was Rein, Hamilton’s face lit up with joy. He rose immediately from the large desk and approached Rein, looking him over before asking:

“Rein, did you succeed?”

“I did. With excellent evaluations, I was granted the title of Baron!” Rein said with a smile.
