Chapter 253 – 161: Unexpected Letter (Two-in-One Big Chapter)

When Rein climbed to the second floor again, he noticed that three bedrooms were suddenly emptied of two, which couldn’t help but make him sigh.

If Lagaray’s departure was something Rein had anticipated early on, after all, she had mentioned it from the start.

Then Anna’s departure was unexpected; he had thought she would stay here for quite a long time, but sometimes farewells come so suddenly.

Moreover, he was also curious about why Anna decided to leave all of a sudden?

Because from what he knew of Anna, this did not seem like her decision, or at least, it should not have been so hasty.

Opening the door, Rein entered his own bedroom and immediately saw three neatly stacked items on the nightstand: a letter, a stack of papers, and a roll of beastskin.

Without any hesitation, he picked up the letter and began to read it.

Oh! Aunt?

Druid Circle?

Rein immediately associated this with the beautiful Elf Lady who wanted to trade with him for the Dark Mother Tree seeds, and it was very likely that the black-haired elf was Anna’s aunt.

Otherwise, the probability of two Druids appearing in Flashgold Town within a short period of time was indeed too low, far too low.

“I really hadn’t expected that she would be Anna’s aunt!”

“Wait, if that’s the case, doesn’t that mean Anna is also an Elf? But Anna’s appearance…”

In an instant, Rein thought of a key point, but after pondering and stroking his chin for a while, he still couldn’t understand the reason behind it.

“Also, is the Druid Circle in Ferdinand Forest?”

Rein thought about it and realized he had never heard of this ’Ferdinand’ forest before, so it must be quite far from Meister County.

“Hoping to help me next time we meet?”

Reading this, Rein felt that he somewhat understood the reason why Anna had decided to go to the Druid Circle.

He had seen Anna’s determination when she was diligently studying basic meditation, as well as her perseverance while trying to heal Lagaray.

So, Rein knew that despite Anna’s seemingly soft and shy exterior, she was actually very determined on the inside, a girl with a lot of willpower and conviction.

However, when Rein read the last part of the letter—’I’ll tell you a little secret, I can now visualize eight Will runes at the same time’—he couldn’t help but imagine Anna’s expression while writing those words.

Her beautiful face must have had a shy and joyous smile.

Thinking of this, a smile also couldn’t help but appear on Rein’s face, and he silently thought:

“Then I’ll look forward to your robust growth, but Anna, I’ll tell you a little secret too, actually, I can already visualize twenty Will runes at once.”

“So, the next time we meet, the likelihood is… I’ll still be protecting you….”

It took a while for Rein to calm down from his slightly melancholic mood.

It felt like the end of the college entrance exams in his previous life when good friends went their separate ways, even though they had agreed to meet again someday, it was likely that when that day truly arrived, quite a long time would have passed.

Folding the letter carefully, he put it back in the envelope, then Rein picked up the stack of papers, and upon looking at them, he immediately recognized them.

“Oh, isn’t this content…”

Immediately, Rein realized that the ’Beast Taming Journal,’ also known as the Silver Book, must have been taken by Anna’s aunt, the black-haired Elf.

But as the items were returned to their rightful owner, Rein didn’t feel any loss.

The last item—the beastskin scroll—made Rein’s brows rise and his face light up with joy when he opened it!

It was a new spell of witchcraft, and fire magic at that, which he had been wanting to find!

“I never thought that I would have almost no gain in the Wigging family’s library, but coming back home, I actually obtained a fire spell.”

Thinking about it, Rein wasn’t sure if it was a gift from Anna or a sign of gratitude from the black-haired Elf for taking care of Anna, but that wasn’t important. What mattered was that if it weren’t for Anna, he wouldn’t have this achievement.

So, the gratitude he felt for this gift he placed upon Anna.

Right away, Rein began to carefully examine the beastskin scroll.

“Scorching Light!” Rein softly read the name of the new spell.

A burning beam of light?

After looking it over several times, Rein found that the difficulty of visualizing the witchcraft model for this new “Scorching Light” spell was about the same as “High-Temperature Force Field,” both being of about the same level of difficulty.

Since Rein had already mastered two fire spells, “Scorching Touch” and “High-Temperature Force Field,” and his spiritual power had also increased to 23 points,

So, learning this new fire spell was not as difficult as the last time.

Heading to the storeroom.

About half an hour later, after failing seven or eight times, Rein finally succeeded!

Only to see a flame, about twenty to thirty centimeters high and constantly burning fiercely, suddenly appear above Rein’s right palm, instantly illuminating the whole room.

The overall shape of the flame was not very large, like an enlarged flame, but it seemed to have high heat, continuously transforming into light energy, giving an extraordinarily dazzling effect.

Although Rein had anticipated it, after just squinting at it for a second or two, his eyes began to see white and he instinctively started to tear up and blink.

Of course, tearing up and blinking are part of the eyes’ natural protective mechanism and there’s nothing bad about it.
