Chapter 255 – 161: An Unexpected Letter (Two in One Mega Chapter)_3

Because casting the witchcraft “Blazing Light” requires one hand to be free, and the techniques Rein currently practices, whether it’s Giant Bear Sword Technique or Tokerka Hammer Technique, both involve two-handed weapons.

“So, in daily practice, I must consciously strengthen this aspect of training, so that in battle, I can naturally and smoothly seize the opportunity to cast the witchcraft ’Blazing Light’.”

Immediately, Rein began to ponder which moves could be followed by “Blazing Light”.

“After the secret move ’Rising Dragon Hammer’, there is a good chance to follow up with the new witchcraft ’Blazing Light’…”

“…After the secret move ’Roaring Strike’, if the enemy can still withstand it, I can also follow up with the new witchcraft ’Blazing Light’…”

Half an hour later, Rein’s face revealed a look of joy.

He had considered all his commonly used swordsmanship and Hammer Skills in conjunction with the new witchcraft and found that there were quite a few points of compatibility.

What remained was the need for daily practice, accumulating over time.

At that moment, Rein suddenly remembered that he had intended to test the effects of witchcraft “High-Temperature Force Field” after his spiritual power had increased by 3 points, but the plan had been interrupted by the arrival of the Crowley family’s carriage.

Now was the perfect time to test it.

So, Rein placed three basins of water on the table, as before, situated one meter, two meters, and three meters away from him.

After ten seconds, Rein voluntarily stopped the witchcraft “High-Temperature Force Field”.

Because Rein had discovered that within the field, the temperature rose quickly, much like the combined effect of a microwave oven and an air fryer, capable of heating the air to the desired temperature within a few seconds.

Although heating water took longer, the duration in the field didn’t show much difference.

Compared to the last time, what pleased him was that the basin of water two meters away now faintly emitted white steam, indicating that the temperature had reached around ninety degrees Celsius.

It wasn’t far from boiling.

The power had clearly increased slightly from last time!

The water in the basins at one meter and three meters also warmed significantly, going from roughly forty to fifty degrees to a scalding sixty to seventy degrees.

Clearly, if an enemy were to fight within this high-temperature force field, they would be at a considerable disadvantage since the temperature exceeded even the scorching surface temperature of the Sahara Desert.

Every second would be an agony for the enemy!

Especially if the enemy were also clad in metal armor…

In an instant, Rein’s mind conjured the image of those large, multilayered, shiny stainless steel steamers from breakfast joints in his previous life, filled neatly with big meat buns and steam billowing from the top!

Thinking of this, Rein couldn’t help but reveal a bright smile on his face.

—————–

In the following days, Rein scarcely left the house.

Apart from occasionally training the greyhound ’Cookie’, Rein spent most of his time practicing the integration of witchcraft, swordsmanship, and Hammer Skill.

During this period, apart from sharing a small portion of the fierce bear meat with ’Cookie’, Rein consumed the remaining tens of pounds of fierce bear meat completely!

Additionally, with regard to the means of transportation for his journey, Rein considered whether to ask the Crowley family to prepare a carriage bearing the noble crest, which could save him some trouble at checkpoints along the way.

But upon reflection, he thought it best to keep a low profile for his upcoming ennoblement assessment.

After all, his conflict with the Cult of the Black Flame had become irreconcilable, and it would not be wise to let them know his destination.

Besides, there was also the friction with Baron Alonso; though it seemed the baron hadn’t made any moves recently.

Rein recalled the route from Flashgold Town to Rosby City.

According to the information he had seen, there were roughly three routes from Flashgold Town to Rosby City.

The reason for “roughly” was that as one reached a town, the closer to Rosby City, the more options for various side paths became available.

If he chose some minor roads during his journey to conceal his movements, a carriage might not be appropriate since some of the paths were rugged, while traveling by horse would not only be more flexible but also more suitable.

Thus, that afternoon, under the warm winter sun, Rein headed to the John’s Stable on the southern side of Flashgold Town.

This visit was unlike the last when he came to learn riding; this time, Rein wanted to purchase two strong warhorses.

Soon, Rein met with the sanguine-nosed middle-aged man—stable master John Moyle.

For John Moyle, Rein was certainly a memorable figure.

“Lord Reine, what brings you here today?” John greeted him with utmost courtesy.

It seemed that John was aware of Rein’s appointment as the Deputy Marshal of Flashgold Town.

“Mr. John, today I’m planning to purchase two strong horses, so I need your help choosing them,” Rein said with a smile.

…

An hour later, Rein rode back home on a black horse while leading a brown one.

The reason for purchasing two horses was that a single steed could not fully bear the weight of a fully armed Rein along with his luggage.

One would be for riding, while the other would carry his baggage.

In addition, Rein intended to conduct a small comparative experiment.
