Chapter 263 – 165: Breaking into the Shell (Two-in-One Big Chapter)

At this moment on the ’Sunken Ship,’ inside the captain’s quarters, Captain Mala Nasr, dressed in a black robe, was not fiddling with his bottles and jars. Instead, he was unusually engaged in discussion with his first mate and the ship’s boatswain.

The first mate was a one-eyed middle-aged man with a rough face and a fierce demeanor, clearly possessing the strength of at least a senior knight. He said, “Boss, why do you oppose collaborating with Bloody Hand Willy and the Eagle Federation?”

“I’ve examined the fifty matchlock guns they brought this time. They are well-crafted and powerful, seemingly quite sincere.”

“Although such matchlock guns don’t pose a threat to us, the transcendent knights, for the brothers under our command, having more of these guns would substantially increase their combat ability.”

“Yes, boss, speak to Bloody Hand Willy. Distribute a few more to us on the ’Sunken Ship.’ The brothers have been complaining to me all day.” The boatswain, a big man with a full beard, also chimed in at this point.

Mala, with a worried look, glanced up at the two of them and said, “We can cooperate with other pirates, but if we partner with the Eagle Federation, I’m afraid we’ll become a thorn in the Empire’s side if they find out!”

“Moreover, do you think the Eagle Federation is really here to help us? They just want to use us to further weaken the Imperial Navy.”

The one-eyed first mate and the bearded boatswain, both no fools, immediately realized the implications of Mala’s words and exchanged glances.

“Why don’t you divine that, boss?” The one-eyed middle-aged man hesitated, then suggested as an idea occurred to him.

“I’ve already divined it. Although the results were neither good nor bad, I have a nagging feeling that something is off, as if the divination was interfered with.” Mala explained as he paced.

“However… I plan to divine it again right now!” Mala’s face tensed up with determination.

This time, he planned to attempt the ’Blood Grass Divination,’ a more advanced method than the ’Aquatic Plant Divination.’

’Blood Grass Divination’ requires mixing the diviner’s own blood with aquatic plants, thereby increasing the accuracy of the divination.

However, this more advanced method of divination, due to its toll on the body, was seldom used by Mala.

But the keen senses of a wizard apprentice seemed to warn him that danger was imminent, especially since this evening, his eyelids had been twitching non-stop!

…

By the dockside.

The attack on the Bloodsail Pirate flagship ’Bloodsail’ had been launched, led by four naval officers with the strength of peak knights. The navy’s assault team followed closely behind, with the rear guarded by a rear admiral and another expert.

Meanwhile, the navy’s assault team left behind fifteen men, who, under the command of another naval officer, seemed poised to simultaneously strike the ’Sunken Ship.’

“By the way, Leonard, how long will the divination interference around Meritet Island last?”

“Sir, it will last until dawn. If only a wizard apprentice performs the divination, I believe they won’t detect any problems.” A confident naval colonel behind the rear admiral spoke up.

Execution of ’Divination Interference’ is a routine procedure for some special operations.

The rear admiral nodded, then turned to a middle-aged man in hunting attire with a handlebar mustache and said:

“Lord Theo, let us then go and meet Bloody Hand Willy and the Eagle Federation’s envoy.”

“Certainly, I’d also like to see the prowess of Bloody Hand Willy.” Theo, the head of the examination team, agreed with a smile.

“Huh!”

At that moment, the rear admiral seemed to sense something and turned his head towards the direction where Rein was.

At that moment, Rein, with a greatsword in each hand, began murmuring a spell.

“High Temperature Field!”

As the deep incantation began, a subtle change appeared around Rein’s body after three seconds.

Although from an outsider’s perspective, Rein’s form was still clearly visible, the difference in temperature caused a change in air density, creating a refraction of light.

Simply put, if an enemy were to thrust a sword at Rein’s eye, there might be a slight deviation, diverting the strike to Rein’s forehead or another nearby area instead.

The next second, Rein’s figure suddenly expanded, his muscles swelling as if inflated, doubling in size!

Luckily, he had switched to an otter-skin armor, which was more elastic than metallic plate armor, thus preventing it from bursting suddenly.

Suddenly, with a motion akin to throwing a javelin, Rein forcefully hurled the Glimmering Greatsword toward the stern of the ’Sunken Ship,’ anchored about twenty to thirty meters away!

“Swish!!!”

In an instant, the greatsword flew like a giant arrow straight toward the stern at a high velocity, so fast that only a bright blur was visible.

By the time the sound reached everyone’s ears, the greatsword had already embedded itself in the ship’s hull at the stern, piercing through several tens of meters of the thick ship’s outer shell and leaving about a meter of shiny blade humming and vibrating.

With ’Limit Break’ and the superhuman trait ’Huge Strength lv3’ activated, Rein forcefully pushed off, sprinting towards a small boat moored by the shore.

The next second, Rein stepped onto the deck of the little boat, instantly causing a creaking sound from the deck, overwhelmed by the force.

Apparently, Rein was using the small boat as a ’stepping stone,’ his powerful step immediately pressing the boat’s body down several dozen centimeters.
