Chapter 218 – 152: The Second Witchcraft (2-in-1 Mega Chapter)_2

After all, his current strength had already surpassed Lord Hamilton’s, and when Lord Hamilton had participated in the ennoblement assessment, he too secured a ‘Good’ second-tier rating and was granted the title of baron.

That is to say, as long as nothing unexpected occurs, he should at least be able to secure the baron title in this ennoblement assessment.

Rather than returning to the second-floor storage room, Rein, after some thought, decided to first visit the town hall to find Lord Hamilton.

It wasn’t long before Rein arrived at Lord Hamilton’s office.

Upon entering, he was greeted by the strong scent of herbs, reminding him that Lord Hamilton had been quite seriously injured the previous night.

Seeing Rein enter, Lord Hamilton smiled and said, “Rein, what brings you here? I was just about to send someone for you. I didn’t expect you to come on your own.”

“Lord, how are you feeling?”

“It’s not too serious, but I do need to properly recuperate over the next few days.”

Rein nodded and continued, “That’s good to hear, Lord. The ennoblement assessment committee has already contacted me.”

“Oh? So soon?” Lord Hamilton said, his expression turning solemn.

Immediately, Rein briefly shared with Lord Hamilton the people he had met and some of the discussions they had.

He mainly wanted to hear Lord Hamilton’s analysis and see in which areas he still needed to prepare, given Lord Hamilton’s relevant experience.

After listening, Lord Hamilton thought deeply and then said,

“Regarding the position of envoy, I’m not too clear either. After all, any worker from the ennoblement assessment committee, as long as they hold specific tasks or responsibilities, can be regarded as envoys at the county or provincial level.”

“However, that’s not what you should focus on.”

“Rein, judging by your assembly location, it’s highly likely that the contents of this ennoblement assessment batch will involve the sea. You have about ten days left; you should make good use of this time to prepare.”

“For instance, in an aquatic environment, a knight’s heavy armor might sometimes become a burden, so, I suggest you prepare a set of leather armor.”

“Besides, you should also think carefully about other possible situations you might encounter.”

Rein nodded, indeed that was the case.

However, at that moment an idea flashed through Rein’s mind.

Perhaps, he could visit the bat market again; there might be some potions or strange objects suitable for use in aquatic environments.

“Speaking of which, Rein, the messenger from the county just informed me that tomorrow, Rudolph, the head of the Monsoon and Sea Goddess Church, will once again lead a team to Nightingale Forest to deal with the Evil Spirit Knight issue,” Lord Hamilton mentioned.

“Initially, I thought I’d ask you to accompany him since I’m injured.”

“However… since you’re about to participate in the ennoblement assessment, it’s better….”

At this point, Rein raised an eyebrow and interrupted Lord Hamilton’s next words,

“Wait, Lord, since you are unwell, it’s more appropriate for me to go. Moreover, if I want to further enhance my strength, I believe I need more real combat experience!”

He hadn’t expected that right after Lagaray had approached him, the church’s people would come calling.

In addition, having the church accompany him naturally offered a greater security assurance, as they were experts in handling mysterious events with rich experience.

Of course, most importantly, Rein was still considering whether he could further improve his strength by dealing with the Evil Spirit Knight task.

Because at present, his Knight (Transcendent) career panel was not far from leveling up.

Lord Hamilton glanced at Rein.

Does your strength still need to be enhanced?

This is an ennoblement assessment, not some kind of life-or-death ordeal!

Lord Hamilton thought to himself in criticism.

Of course, he definitely couldn’t say that. Looking at Rein earnestly, he asked, “Rein… are you sure you don’t need to spend some time preparing?”

“Lord, the Evil Spirit Knight task shouldn’t take too much time. I think, after returning, I will still have plenty of time to prepare,” Rein replied.

“Very well!” Lord Hamilton nodded and agreed.

After all, for him, given his current serious injuries that required a few days to recover, sending Rein was definitely the best choice.

When Rein returned home and shared this news with Lagaray, the barbarian girl couldn’t help but be overjoyed.

She had been waiting for this day for far too long.

“Also, if nothing unexpected happens, I should be accompanying you tomorrow,” Rein added after a moment’s thought.

“Oh? Isn’t it supposed to be Lord Hamilton?”

“He’s injured, so this time, I’ll be leading the team from Flashgold Town,” Rein explained.

“Alright, then I’ll go get ready.” From Lagaray’s expression, there appeared to be an even brighter spark in her eyes.

…

Only then did Rein find some free time to start examining the two Sorcery Scrolls.

Rein first took out one of the Sorcery Scrolls, opening it cautiously.

There are two ways to trigger a Sorcery Scroll: one is to tear it open directly, which is suitable for everyone including ordinary people.

The other requires the injection of a slight amount of spiritual power, which is relatively more suitable for Wizard Apprentices. Through this method, one can slightly manipulate the angle and scope of the unleashed witchcraft.

The first Sorcery Scroll bore intricate lines, triangles, and circles, emitting a faint chill, with a small spirit script (Akkadian) explanation, ‘Arctic Wind.’

Witchcraft ‘Arctic Wind’ Effect: Summon an arctic airflow from the caster, blowing forward for tens of meters and causing the temperature in the area to drop drastically within a very short time.
