Chapter 202 – 148: Curse, Illusion Technique, and Witchcraft (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

It seems that the system’s so-called “coverage” is not about completely eliminating or fully accepting.

In addition, using secret medicines or high-quality food for feeding can accelerate the gain of experience points.

This was also verified during the recent feeding.

After resolving several doubts in the Beast Tamer (Transcendent) panel, Rein began to practice the Giant Bear Breathing Technique, making the most of the special nutrients contained in the bear meat.

After finishing the Breathing Technique training, Rein started practicing the basic meditation method.

Because he gained one point in his Spirit Attribute when he transferred to a Beast Tamer, Rein wanted to test how many Will symbols he could visualize at once now.

One minute later…

Rein opened his eyes joyfully.

This time, he managed to visualize sixteen Will symbols all at once, stepping into what’s commonly referred to as a “Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.”

Moreover, Rein confirmed that the ‘lv’ levels displayed on the Wizard Apprentice (Transcendent) profession panel had nothing to do with the conventional “Level 1 or 2 Wizard Apprentice.”

Reaching Wizard Apprentice lv2 does not equate to being considered a “Level 2 Wizard Apprentice” in the common sense of this world; furthermore, he’s actually at a lv4 Wizard Apprentice, but there’s no such concept as a Level 4 Wizard Apprentice in this world.

The highest level for a Wizard Apprentice is three.

So, it’s understandable that these are two entirely unrelated systems.

After pondering for a while, Rein realized that the biggest difference in becoming a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice was the disparity in combat power.

Previously, when he had just visualized eight Will symbols and became a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice, his combat power was far from that of a formal Knight.

At that time, his only feature was that, compared to an ordinary person, his spiritual power was much stronger, and his perception much more acute.

To exert considerable combat power, however, he would have to rely on external objects, like the “acidic missile scroll” that Endri used in the Elim Mine.

However, with the advancement to a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice, there was a significant increase in combat power.

Although Rein currently had no scrolls or other magical items at his disposal, he could achieve substantial combat power merely using the witchcraft “Scorching Touch.”

As the low chant of his incantation echoed, the iron pot in front of Rein’s palm began to heat up rapidly, turning red, smoking, and softening within seconds.

It was on the verge of melting!

Keep in mind, the melting point of iron is nearly fifteen hundred degrees!

This means that the same spell, cast after advancing to a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice, was significantly more powerful than before.

Previously, the temperature reached after a few seconds of guiding Rein’s “Scorching Touch” was around a thousand degrees, but now he could reach fourteen to fifteen hundred degrees.

In addition, previously Rein could only cast “Scorching Touch” two or three times, but now he could generally release it five or six times.

The improvement in combat power was obvious!

If, during a battle, he had the chance to cast “Scorching Touch” without being rushed, even a Peak Knight might be severely injured or even killed on the spot!

After all, no living being can withstand the continuous roasting of fifteen hundred degrees that can melt steel.

However, an enemy isn’t a wooden figure that would stand still for several seconds.

This is the current weakness of Rein’s witchcraft.

First, it has good power, but it’s a contact-based spell.

Second, it needs continuous channeling to release the maximum damage. Read the latest on m

Meanwhile…

In a luxurious residence in Meist County City.

A dim basement hall.

The slender Knight carrying a “scythe”-like weapon was quietly reporting, “High Priest, the mission to kill the newly-promoted Knight, Rein, has failed again!”

“Moreover, according to Lamar’s words, the Iron Maiden automaton was also destroyed by Rein…” he stammered, seemingly finding it difficult to continue.

After all, how could the High Priest believe the reasons reported by Lamar when he himself hardly believed them?

Indeed…

“Hmm? How is that possible?” The High Priest could accept the failure to eliminate Rein, but he was astonished when he heard about the destruction of the Iron Maiden.

Surprise and disbelief were clearly audible in his voice!

“That… Rein is not only proficient in swordsmanship but also in Hammer Skill, no, he should be considered an expert in Hammer Skill!” the slender Knight reasoned, trying to explain as best as he could.

After all, Lamar was present at the time, so he could only go by what Lamar had explained!

Even though, before making his report, he had been considering how to make his explanation more persuasive, it seemed there was never a suitable rationale…

“An expert in Hammer Skill? A newly-promoted Knight was able to smash the shell of the Iron Maiden with a hammer?” There was a tone of disbelief in the words.

At that moment, a large and corpulent figure stood up from the shadows!

Despite being almost as tall as the slender Knight who stood over two meters tall, the new figure’s bulk was comparable to seven or eight slender knights.

If Rein had been there, he would have immediately associated the figure with sumo wrestlers from his previous world, it was such a striking resemblance, except the figure was wearing a hood and a long robe.
